Meh, boring Soccer/Football games happen. Just like boring American Fooball games happen. Being an American currently living in England, I have been exposed to loads of Fooball and I agree it can get rather confusing. But to me, what sets it apart from other sports, and I think comparing it to MLB is a better than comparing it to American Football, is the opportunity for lower league teams to make a run at higher league teams. Can you imagine the Rochester Red Wings competing against the NY Yankee's for a title? That happens here in Football. Hell, it happened this year, when Bradford City a League 2 team(so 3 leagues below the Premeirship) went on to beat Ashton Villa and Arsenal. Thats huge. Makes for some exciting games. But I do agree, it's confusing between all the different titles.

My theory on the draft and 2013 season
Wayne Cubed replied to Harryhood280's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This. I'll never understand people who think any other position isn't a gamble. Guess what? If you you pick a different position at #8 (LB, DL, WR, CB) the chances of them succeeding in the NFL are still the same if you pick a QB. It's still the same risk. What if the Bills do go with a WR at #8 and Geno Smith goes next pick to the Jets. Then the WR flops and Geno goes on to have a productive career. Was it wise to wait then? The draft is a crap shoot. -
Ryan Nassib - QB - Syracuse

Huh? Isn't qualified at all? As already mentioned... Bucky Brooks played in the NFL for 5 years, he then was a scout for Seahawks for 3 years. Why isn't he qualified? A team ACTUALLY paid him to make decisions/recommendations on players. Greg Cosell, although widely thought of as a good analyst by media pundits, has NEVER worked for or scouted or been paid for an opinion by an NFL team. He's never played football at a professional level. Saying that, he is certainly been looking at film for a very long time, so his opinion does merit some weight. And thats the trooth... -
Supposedly they are doing these workouts plus bringing them in for predraft visits. And these workouts aren't happening at the Bills facility, so they will get to see the player twice.

Running back rule passed....

I have to agree with this as well. Not sure what the big deal is... As SJBF posted from Jeff Fisher, just lower the shoulder if you want to hit. Turn your shoulder into the hit. The game has gotten to the point where the helmet itself is used as a weapon. -
Ryan Fitzpatrick - QB - Tennessee Titans

Apparenlty you do not understand a couple things, statistics being one, decimals and averages being the other. When a QB is throwing 500+ balls the diference between 6.7 and 7.2 is huge. Even if RF went an extra 20-20 in a game averaging 10 yards a throw, that's 200 more yards WITHOUT an incompletion, his YPA still wouldn't come to what Bree's YPA was. RF would be at 7.0 YPA. But seeing as RF is only a 60% thrower, lets extrapolate that a bit. Meaning out of 20 balls he might complete 12. So for him to get to 20 balls on an average of 10 yards a completion, he would go 20-33. And if we add that to his totals, his YPA only comes up to 6.8. See where I'm going here? RF would have had to play out of his mind to raise his YPA by a .5. So, no, there numbers aren't close. -
Ryan Nassib - QB - Syracuse

Yea, Nassib was there in 2008 and was red-shirted in favor of Paulus. -

I think you could also throw into the mix the fact that Marrone/Hackett are basically getting another chance to select/recruit a QB to run there offense. Would they choose Nassib if given a second chance? Or do they see other Qb's with skills they desire? With the NFL draft they are getting a chance at supposedly the best and only competing with 31 other teams. As opposed to college recruitment where they were competing against other, power house programs, where the ultimate say is left up to the player. -
Interview with Buddy Nix from Owners Meetings

Add to that, in those truly windy or snowy conditions, what do teams generally do? They hand the ball off and grind it out in the running game. I never understood the weather excuse... -
Ryan Nassib - QB - Syracuse
Wayne Cubed replied to BuffaloBillsForever's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You assume that Marrone thinks he's a good one... Maybe he doesn't. Truth is you can't say whether he thinks he's good or bad. That's something I'm sure Marrone will keep within the organization. -
Ryan Nassib - QB - Syracuse

This. You wouldn't bet your career on player from college, just because he knew your system. I think it would be career suicide. You take the player you believe to be the "answer." -

Great, I would happen a guess it was still dumbed down a bit. -

If the Bills and Marrone decide to go this route iy would the biggest mistake ever made by a Head Coach. Why would you bring in a offense built for the likes of college football, with the same QB and expect it to succeed? You'd have to change it up at least a little bit and suprise people. Yea maybe you bring pieces of it, but NFL defenses would eat a college offense up, especially the one Syracuse ran. -
Should the Bills trade UP to #1???

Fair enough. -

Not that your not entitled to your opinion but as I read through some scouting reports on him I'd say he has concerns. - decision making - accuracy - struggles to work through progressions - didn't play we'll against good defenses - not a natural passer -
Some quotes about Geno on his workout; "Smith showed lots of balance and great accuracy on the move, while hiting targets 25 yards plus down the field" "his downfield touch and accuracy was impressive. Lots of zip on the ball and balance throughout his compact release" sorry on my phone, can 't link to the article
