Buffalo News predicts: Nix, Gailey gone
Wayne Cubed replied to San Jose Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
See IMO, I don't think you can make that argument. The defense played well enough in a few games were the offense played terrible and did nothing. Who's to say that in the games that the defense played bad had they played good the offense would have put the same amount of points on the board. It could be when these other teams went ahead by a lot of points, their defenses played soft. Who knows? Maybe the only games you could argue are Tenn and the first NE game. But thats still only 2 more wins. Meaning 8-8. The problems of the Bills go much deeper than just the defense IMO. -
4-3 Scheme: Our defensive's biggest need
Wayne Cubed replied to EmotionallyUnstable's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
To add to this a bit, I think Sheppard gets lumped in with a lot of bad play. Wannstedt has played nickel/dime for much of the season, so the MLB has been Scott. When teams see this, they run the ball. A lot. And get huge gains. Generally when the Bills have been in their base defense, they have been able to stop the run, except when they run towards Moore who has been terrible in containment. I think another problem has been at Safety. George Wilson has been horrible in run support. Im not sure if its the scheme or him, but he just doesnt come down in the box and help in the run game. Searcy looks like the guy of the future. -
So when he has good game, like last week, I don't hear anything from you? But it's ok, Fitz throws a pick in the final driven, again, and it's obviously the receivers fault. Unbelievable how much you crap on the actual talent on this team.

I never said home field advantage wasn't real. But did you look at the stats: 2012: 3-3, 2011: 4-3, 2010: 2-5, 2009: 3-4. That's the home records. Besides 2011, 1 more game at home wouldn't have given them any real advantage. If the Bills were 6-1 or 5-2 and they had one more game at home making them 7-1 or 6-2 at home. Those would be advantages. Wouldn't have to win as many away games, but they are just not that good that one more home game would make a difference. They are still terrible on the road and home. -

You ignore the fact that the Bill are just not good. Many good teams year in and year out go 4-4 or 5-3 or heaven forbid 6-2 in road games. The Bills have an extra road game but are still 2-5 in road games this year, 2-6 if you include Toronto. They are 3-3 at home, hardly a home field advantage. Even if this past game was played at home, that's possibly 4-3 at home and still not good enough to get to the playoffs. Last year, the Bills won at Toronto, so we'll put that in the away column since, that's where you place it. 4-3 at home and 2-7 on the road, that's including the Toronto game, so really 1-7. That's horrible. In 2010 2-5 at home and 2-7 on the road. In 2009 3-4 and 3-6 on the road. See what I'm getting at? Even if you add the one game back at home, it's still not good enough. Yea it could have made them 5-3 at home this year, if they win the Seattle game and win the final Jets game. That's still a BIG maybe. Point is, doesn't matter where the games are played. They aren't good. -

This thread is crazy. So let me get this straight, the Bills playing in Toronto is a disadvantage? Please explain further because as far as I'm aware for the 5 regular season games played it wouldn't have meant jack about the outcome of the season. The Bills haven't been good enough. Simple. Toronto had nothing to do with it. So where's the argument? The only argument that could be made against it was last years game. The only year the Bills came into Toronto with a winning record and then won, but preceded to go into a massive losing streak. So, maybe winning in Toronto caused the losing streak? If you're a conspiracy theorist.. -
Fitz was outstanding.. for all you haters
Wayne Cubed replied to 8-8 Forever?'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think the problem is that Fitz has reached his limits. I personally am willing for the Bills to take a small step back, if it leaps them past where Fitz had brought them. With the defense improving over the past couple of weeks, it's possible for a rookie to come in and take his lumps and maybe the defense can hold it together. Not saying it'll happen, but it could. But the problem is, can the Bills get that right? Can they diagnose the talent and get QB with more potential and talent than Fitz? Who knows... -
I think I know why CJ doesn't get on the field more...
Wayne Cubed replied to jonramz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Why not take advantage of the situations? So CJ cant block well, why not have both Fred and CJ in the backfield instead of going 4 or 5 wide. If you need to go 4 wide, CJ is more than capable of doing that. Keep Fred in the backfield. This will also help with teams stacking the box, if bothe are in the backfield pre snap, then CJ motions out wide. Or you hand of to Fred sometimes. Point is, CJ is dynamic and by keeping him off the field you are eliminating an explosive part of the offense. A good coach would find ways to make it work. -
Is Stevie Johnson Playing Scared?

Again, I asked before, show me a #2 receiver who has back to back to back(possibly) 1000 yard seasons. -

This is just ridiculous. First he was the first Bill to have back to back 1000 yard seasons. Now he's on course to have back to back to back 1000 yard seasons. All of this with a limp-armed QB that's missed him on throws at least 15+ times this season. Let me know what #2 WR has ever done that.... But yes lets bash a very good player, one of the best WR's the Bills have had since Reed. -

Exactly! Been off that ship since the bye week when the defense showed up for the season. But can you blame fans, this is the one position the Bills still haven't figured out and a lot of people, myself included thought it was finally figured out. /thread -

IDK, Chan is using the fatigue excuse quite a bit... -

Except when Luck needed to get it done, he did. No matter how "mediocre" you think his stats where, when it counted he took the team down and put points on the board. Just look at the last 4 possesions for the Bills: 4 plays and PUNT 3 plays and PUNT 3 plays and PUNT 4 plays and INTERCEPTION If the Bills score on any of those, game over maybe. Do you honestly think Luck would allow that to happen in the same situation? Fitz just does not raise the level of play of any player around him. Yea, some of its coaching. But Chan isn't throwing the ball and calling audibles, not that Chan didn't make some terrible choices too. -

Guy wants to have a long career and protect himself, IMO. Can't blame him. The shelf life for an NFL player is what 5 years? -
Fred Jackson - torn MCL, out for season

Somehow FJ, injured, will manage to STILL get more touches than Spiller. -
I like that he grilled Gailey for answers. Someone needs to. And the answers Gailey gave were complete bullschit.

This. I've also started to notice, he stares down receivers. -
Any HC worth a damn would get 10-6 out of this team...
Wayne Cubed replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Its true. I'd say Chan, with his mismanagement, has lost the Bills at least 3 games this year(St Louis, Tenn, Indy). Not to mention his utter reliance on a QB who just can't get it done. And why the hell is this team NEVER prepaired. They opened the season like absolute garbage and just never seem prepaired for opponants. -

Lets call it 9 points, seeing as the defense got them 3 with the turnover.
