  1. Frank the Tank is fun to watch.
  2. This poll needs multiple selections allowed. I think QB will fall short of pro-bowl level, which we need, because we lack depth and talent in multiple positions, and our coaching staff is questionable. If we had great coaches, and better depth/overall talent, we wouldn't need pro-bowl talent from the QB, and we'd finish above .500.
  3. It's (marijuana) the only thing that prevents my GF from having night terrors. Personally, it's never done jack for me. I think it just effects different people differently. -- Regarding Marcell... I'm disappointed. Not surprised. Hopefully he is punished in a way that he learns his lesson, but not so much that it effects our chances to win on Sundays.
  4. What's the difference between "interpretation" and "judicial activism"? And who makes that distinction?
  5. Heartbreaking is an understatement. I'm not sure I'd drive again after that.
  6. No issue mentioning differences as long as they aren't spoilers for the show.
  7. Getting a few more sacks and a few more run stops isn't what this team needs to "win now". What we need is a stud QB to "win now". There are no guaranteed stud QBs in the draft.
  8. That'd be the stupidest trade in the history of football. A dominant DE doesn't win that many games, imo.
  9. I don't understand how anyone can not see the Constitution as a living document. The fact that there are amendments tells me that it wasn't set in stone/perfect when written. But ignoring that, judges have and do interpret the text differently all the time. Why? Because much of the text is very general, possibly written to keep it flexible for changing times. Any society that doesn't have some sort of flexibility in law will crumble quite fast, imo.
  10. Yes I do get to "complain". It's part of the free/democratic process. I have a voice, and I can use it. And yes we do vote for Supreme Court Justices, just not directly. Vote a Democratic President in, they'll likely appoint a left leaning judge when given the opportunity. Vote a Republican President in, they'll likely appoint a right leaning judge. It's actually a very important part of Presidential politics.
  11. ...huh? Wait, because I support the process of our government, I'm no longer allowed to speak out against government decisions? That's kind of silly. I support the process. I don't always support the outcome. When I don't, I speak out (freedom of speech, yay!) and vote. Maybe in the future, I'll get an outcome that I support.
  12. I'd love to have Evans. I just don't know if we are aggressive enough to trade up... guess we'll see. Great mock, though. Good read.
  13. Until xyz is challenged in court again, and a new judgment is made. It's how our government has worked (or not worked, depending on your view) for a long time.
  14. I do see the Constitution as a living document. I'm not sure if "you're wrong" is much for debate. I could easily say the same right back to you. Rather, I'll settle on "agree to disagree".
  15. Much like religious texts, the Constitution, and other governing documents, will always be open to individual interpretation. Personally, I think religion should be set aside when governing, especially in a country as diverse as ours. I think it matches up with the intentions of our founding fathers, I think it's best for ensuring fair treatment of our citizens. I think allowing religion within the confines of governing leads to slippery slopes. That all being said, I'm not so offended about the prayers in the OP, that I'd make a big stink about it. I would likely vote for a measure to remove such prayers if it came up, though.
  16. Removing lobbying would be against the free market ideals of most fiscal conservatives.
  17. I'm really enjoying the Littlefinger character. His voice and mannerisms are all sorts of creepy and weird, but frankly I like me a character who is sneaky in all the right ways. Makes for a really good villain. Joffrey was just a piece of crap. At least Littlefinger and Tywin are intelligent (in various ways) and demand respect. It'll be interesting to see what moves Littlefinger makes before and after Danerys's moves towards Westeros (assuming they happen at all).
  18. Representatives that cannot do their job in a non secular manner, do not have a place in a government that supposedly has a separation of church and state.
  19. I understand fiscal conservatism, and am not wholly against it. I support smaller, more efficient government in certain aspects. I support larger government in other aspects. It all starts at removing lobbying/corporate money from politics, though, and that is against free market ideals.
  20. This guy is the earliest Kiko call that I found. http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/157376-eugene-cyril-geno-smith-iii-qb-west-virginia/page__st__40#entry2727930
  21. Our government, local or federal, should not be promoting any religion as part of it's function and service. To me a prayer in this context is inappropriate. If the members want to pray together, by all means, do it on your own time.
  22. I am admittedly biased against social conservatism. Moderate and fiscal conservatives are not necessarily social conservatives. Social conservatives are many in this country though. That being said, as society changes, the old lines of thinking will die off.
  23. Well, if we're calling for removal of social assistance because a small percentage abuse said assistance, I'd much rather remove the people who are abusing the assistance, and see if the assistance can resume support for those who need it...
