Just a wild guess here, but anyone think Rasul Douglas could be a long-term answer at safety? We obviously have to replace at least one, maybe two. Douglas has a fairly high cap hit next year, but if the team likes what he brings, they could lower that with a 2- to 3-year extension. Poyer and Hyde were both converted CBs…there’s precedent. Thoughts?

Right. My point exactly. OP wants to moan that we’ve replaced Edmunds with a backup instead of a starter. But what the heck else were we supposed to replace him with? Don’t get me wrong, I think Edmunds had value. It’s just that his value was primarily size rather than skill. Now we’ve replaced him with less size and as-yet-unproven skill. Count me among those who believe you can’t pay everyone and we’ve paid the right people. I’ll trust the veteran leadership in our back seven to compensate for what we lost in Edmunds, and I’m grateful we’re not over-investing in MLB in a pass-first league.

I hate that phrase “trap game,” but this suddenly feels like a trap game. Either the Cheatriots take advantage of an emotionally drained Bills team and get the W, or the Bills go Beast Mode for Hamlin and hang 50 on them. Let’s hope for the latter, but my gut says we come out fairly flat.

I had the same thought a few days ago. Makes a ton of sense. Trouble is, it only makes sense to the Giants if they’re not competitive. At the moment, they’re exceeding expectations, and in a weak NFC, they’re a wild card contender until proven otherwise. Unfortunately, I don’t see them being eliminated before the trade deadline. Best thing that could happen for the Giants is to learn they’re not ready yet and make the trade. Acquire the capital they’ll need to rebuild the team the right way.

Okay, last one…I promise: Allen throws stiff arms. Tua is still learning how to throw a football.

How many fourth down plays have we had this year? Like…three? If I ran this offense, I wouldn’t lose a ton of sleep over missing a 3rd and 1 from time to time because I’d go for it on 4th and 1 every time. This team just doesn’t miss on back-to-back plays often (regardless of down and distance). How many times has Josh thrown two consecutive incompletions this year? If it has happened on fewer than 5% of drop backs, that says good things about my odds of converting one yard on two tries.
