  1. Here’s a thought: Go outside. Take a walk. Visit a museum. Call an old friend. Volunteer. Help a stranger. Daydream. #1 - Perspective. It’s a football game. I love the Bills, too, but there’s more to life. Don’t let missing a sporty ball game ruin your week. #2 - This feels like an easy fix. Spend a few bucks. If the game is available on Peacock, pay $6. If you can watch a game every Sunday for decades, you can afford $6. If it’s not available because of some weird TV issue, drive somewhere it IS available. A bar. Another city. Whatever. If you care that much (and again…perspective), then prove it and drive three hours to watch it in another market. Don’t rant about the lengths to which you’ve gone to keep the streak alive and then tell me you can’t make a road trip with a buddy. #3 - Rage against a different machine. The world is full of problems in need of fixing and people who are hurting. You wanna stand for something? Stand your ground on something that matters. Help make the world a better place. If your moral line in the sand is “The NFL and the cable company screwed me out of my god-given right to free sports,” you’re not holding a moral compass…you’re just throwing a tantrum. You wanna fight for the little guy? Fight for the guy who doesn’t complain about apps because a phone is a luxury he can’t afford. Fight for the guy who wakes up at 4am to take the crosstown bus to work so he can give his kids a better life, not the guy who wakes up at 4am to watch a football game. Fight for someone who’s medicine is too expensive, no someone who’s entertainment is too expensive. Don’t worry: If you miss the game, we’ll have another one next week. I’ve talked to the league about this and they’ve assured me we’ll have at least one more chance to see the Bills play this year.
  2. There is a scenario where if the Bills beat Miami, they win the division and if they lose, they miss the playoffs altogether. Which is to say the “percentage” chance to make the playoffs means virtually nothing. I don’t want to be in a scenario where we’re 64% to make the playoffs and 50% to win the division, but lose the game and it drops to 0%. Just. Beat. Dallas.
  3. In a sign of the times, Al Michaels has been replaced by AI Michaels. Nobody notices the difference.
  4. I put $25 on the Bills to win the AFC Championship at +1400 before they lost to the Eagles. I stand by that bet. It ain’t a big wager, but I like our chances.
  5. The difference between Dorsey and Brady is like the difference between someone who cooks by following a recipe vs. someone who simply knows how to cook. Sure, the guy who reads the recipe step by step as he’s cooking can make an adequate dish…but he could also botch it because he’s busy reading step 3 while his unwatched pot is boiling over. Plus, his dish won’t be very original. And heaven forbid things get off schedule or go off script. A seasoned chef simply knows how to cook…knows how ingredients work together, when to adjust the heat, when to add a pinch of salt. And he can improvise and adapt…he can adjust on the fly or put a totally unique twist on the dish. He has command of his kitchen at all times. Dorsey wasn’t awful at cooking up an offense…it just felt like he was learning how to do the job on the fly.
  6. Bench him. Make him get his god***n head screwed on straight. He needs to quit acting like a shooter in a slump…you’re not gonna shoot your way out of the funk.
  7. This is actually a really good battle between the Bills defense and the Bills offense.
  8. By long-term, I don’t mean 10 years. Even five-year stability and competence at safety would be good for me. Essentially, what we got from Hyde and Poyer. But your point is well taken at CB. I just hope that’s not our answer. Or if it is, I hope he proves worth it. While I’m not expecting another All-Pro to walk through the door, merely “adequate” might be a letdown, considering we all felt we were a CB2 upgrade over Levi Wallace away from a top end secondary. I’d hate to see us retreat to the middle across that position group.
  9. It would cut down on his holding penalties…
  10. Just a wild guess here, but anyone think Rasul Douglas could be a long-term answer at safety? We obviously have to replace at least one, maybe two. Douglas has a fairly high cap hit next year, but if the team likes what he brings, they could lower that with a 2- to 3-year extension. Poyer and Hyde were both converted CBs…there’s precedent. Thoughts?
  11. I’d like to see them start bundling losses.
  12. Right. My point exactly. OP wants to moan that we’ve replaced Edmunds with a backup instead of a starter. But what the heck else were we supposed to replace him with? Don’t get me wrong, I think Edmunds had value. It’s just that his value was primarily size rather than skill. Now we’ve replaced him with less size and as-yet-unproven skill. Count me among those who believe you can’t pay everyone and we’ve paid the right people. I’ll trust the veteran leadership in our back seven to compensate for what we lost in Edmunds, and I’m grateful we’re not over-investing in MLB in a pass-first league.
  13. Sure. Or paid the guy who was here. But we all wanted to crucify that guy anyway. So…31 other candidates league wide…fewer if you only count those who played MLB in a 4-3…and how many were available as a free agent? Bills fans just like having something to complain about. That’s all this is.
  14. Phrases like this crack me up. Oh, so Dodson was a “career backup,” you say? Isn’t that because the guy he’s competing to replace was the starter? Come on, Beane! Find us a career starter to replace our…starter.
  15. Sure. But the box could also say it’s a peanut butter sandwich if it wants. The box is just a marketer telling you something you want to hear to help you part with your money. It’s unlicensed knock-off crap, if you ask me. But whatever. Who the heck buys a Josh Allen puzzle anyway?
  16. I mean…are we even sure it’s Josh Allen? Heck, could be Phillip Rivers from his All Pro season with the Colts…
  17. A few players I could see the Bills grabbing: Keion White, DL, Georgia Tech Ji’Ayir Brown, S, Penn State Chandler Zavala, OG, NC State Nick Saldiveri, OT/OG, Old Dominion Ricky Stromberg, C, Arkansas Yasir Abdullah, LB, Louisville Dontayvion Wicks, WR, Virginia
  18. Reality check: In a 15-year span, almost EVERYBODY moves on from their job. This fact literally means nothing.
  19. Aaron Rodgers took the Packers to the playoffs 11 times. He missed the Super Bowl in 10 of the those 11 trips. Getting fed up on Beane because we haven’t won the Super Bowl with Josh yet is like getting pissed because you didn’t get laid 30 minutes after walking into the bar.
  20. Remember all those years during the drought when we complained about the Bills criminally neglecting the TE position? Like the pick or not, we can cross “the Bills are ignoring TE” off our list of things to whine about.
  21. Simple question: Will the Bills make a draft selection in the first round?
  22. I’ve been married for 20+ years. My balls have a chip in them, too.
  23. Sometimes I hate this place. Open a thread expecting to see football talk, and instead you see two Bills fans in a running back-and-forth slapfest. And they’re not even arguing over football anymore…all that matters is getting the final word. Oh look, sports!
  24. I’m predicting two interceptions by Tre this weekend.
