  1. Looking ahead, Carolina looks pretty good, but the Senators were better. And they cleaned the Sens' clocks. Sabres in 6.
  2. Former Rochester Amerk Jason Pominville with the OT goal! We Rochesterians join you in celebration! YEAH!
  3. He was so reclusive, he played for the Bills?
  4. That's reassuring. It's nice to see in black and white that the Bills will be back at SJF.
  5. So we have 5 Top 100's from this year's draft. I challenge anyone to find a team with more!!!! GO BILLS!
  6. Great post, Squibs. Welcome to the Wall!
  7. I was looking at various teams' drafts, and the Bills took 4 on Draft Daddy's Top 100: 35) DT John McCargo ~ North Carolina State 40) CB Ashton Youboty ~ Ohio State 63) S Donte Whitner ~ Ohio State 83) S Ko Simpson ~ South Carolina Only one other team had 4 on the Draft Daddy Top 100--The Arizona Cardinals (Leinart, Tutui, Pope, Watson). The Eagles, who took a few of "our" picks, only had 3 (Bunkley, Justice, Jean-Gilles). The Colts had none. The Patriots had 2 (Maroney, Jackson), as did Miami (Jason Allen, Hagan) and the Jets 3 (Ferguson, Mangold, Clemens). The Broncos had 3, picking up #98 Eslinger (the too-small Center) in Round 7.
  8. I think this is Crowell. There are 15 backups on the depth chart. No starters.
  9. OFFENSIVE COMMENTS! I think one surprises will be George Wilson (WR) stealing Aiken and/or Reed's spot. I love the Martin Nance pick in the Red Zone IF he can gain separation down there and our QB can get him the ball up top. Most everyone's saying Euhus-Everett-Royal for our TE's. I agree. And with this Line, we better keep 3 QB's. DEFENSIVE COMMENTS! I think we keep 7 LB's. Ezekial is dumb as a rock, and will go. Haggan isn't the player Crowell is, and will go. I think Ellison is one of the 53. The wild card is Stamer, as he's not very fast but is great at ST. My other surprise would be Rashad Baker stealing Bowen's spot at Safety.
  10. I never reply to my own posts, but here's one more tough choice: WR (Keep 5-6; Cut 4-5) -- Roscoe? Bye Fast Freddie? Hello Mr. Wilson? Parrish the Thought? Lee Evans Andre' Davis Peerless Price Sam Aiken George Wilson Martin Nance Josh Reed Jonathan Smith Chris Denney Roscoe Parrish
  11. Getting the team to its final 53 will be a tough job for the Bills Staff. Here are some of the toughest IMHO: OLB (Keep Probably 4, Cut 3) -- Cut Posey? Haggan? Your new draft pick? ST Ace Stamer? Jeff Posey Takeo Spikes Angelo Crowell Mario Haggan Josh Stamer Keith Ellison Wendell Hunter DT (Keep Probably 4-5, Cut 3-4) -- Cut Fan Fave Sape? PassRusher Jefferson? Your draft pick Williams? Larry Tripplett Tim Anderson John McCargo Jason Jefferson Kyle Williams Lauvale Sape Tai Tupai LaWaylon Brown OG (Keep Probably 4-5 out of 8: Cut 3-4) -- Merz to PS? Can Anderson? Chris Villarrial Tutan Reyes Duke Preston Dylan McFarland Justin Geisinger (OC) Bennie Anderson Jason Thomas Aaron Merz
  12. I wouldn't draft him, and neither would Levy. Here's more info: Brooks, 20, pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor marijuana possession charge on July 29, 2003. "The Daily Press reports an NFL source with knowledge of the situation said expelled Virginia LB Ahmad Brooks likely will apply for the NFL's supplemental draft, usually held in July or August. The supplemental draft is a route sometimes taken by players in situations such as Brooks. "There's still a lot of interest (by NFL teams) on Ahmad's part due to his natural athleticism," said the NFL source, who expects some team to take a "risk" on Brooks. "The only question NFL teams would have is on his character, his work ethic and his passion for the game. He has a very, very long road ahead of him." Said the NFL source: "The NFL front-office personnel are going to ask themselves, 'If he can't comply with a stringent, professional, rigorous schedule that (Virginia head coach) Al Groh has for his team, then how do we expect him to comply with our rules that we have at this level?' "
  13. Nice data. I hope Crowell gets a chance to start. I'm confident Fewell will get it right. I'm not as confident about the linebackers coach, Matt Sheldon. He's a first-year LB coach. Basically, I think he'll be listening to Fewell (and Fletcher and TKO).
  14. I'll hitch-hike on this post. I love the draft and everything about it. It's about absorbing and weighing data, it's an intoxication of hope, it's about unexpected presents, it's about disagreement and counterpoint. It's about mental exercise. Thanks for all of you who added to the draft day fun, and I look forward to the redemption that training camp and Sunday afternoons should give us thirsty Bills fans!
  15. "Nance enjoyed a spectacular season as a sophomore in 2003 when he teamed up with quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and caught 90 passes for 1,498 yards — both were school single-season records by wide margins — and 11 touchdowns." Knew I remembered the name. He was Big Ben's target.
  16. Great Signing. We need a tall receiver in the red zone. The knock on him was ability to gain separation, but his size would be tops in that WR corps. I'll bet he makes it.
  17. I like Charlton Keith at DE. Good catch. I had Kai Parham 2nd best ILB in the draft, after D'Qwell Jackson, going in the 3rd Round. I want him as my top UDFA. My 2nd recommendation is Pat Ross at Center. He's very quick, and I had him going in RD#4-5. QB Pinegar, Paul 6-5 231 Fresno State OC Ross, Pat 6-3 295 Boston College DB Gordon, Charles 5-10 184 Kansas DT Jackson, Tommy 'T.J.' 6-0 305 Auburn DE Keith, Charlton OG Tella, Tony 6-4 308 Miami (Fla.) ILB Parham, Kai 6-3 255 Virginia OLB Havner, Spencer 6-4 243 UCLA
  18. ...coaches believe he has yet to show what he's truly capable of...boasts outstanding power in his upper body and has improved his lower body strength...425 bench, 365 incline, 301 power clean and 500 squat...has a good understanding of the offensive system and doesn't make many mental mistakes...has also done a nice job of keeping his weight down over the past two years...
  19. Two-year starter at tackle averaged 6.5 knockdowns per game. Father, Henry, played for the Dallas Cowboys from 1978-81.
