  1. Houston won't pick DE; they got Super Mario, they still need a Safety. Bing? New Orleans WILL pick one of the Guards, IMHO. Jean Gilles? San Francisco needs Free Safety too, and will look Defense with this pick. Oakland still needs its DT. Tennessee hasn't addressed Linebacker and OT, but they don't need Guards. NYJets have addressed their top 3 needs (OT,QB,LB) and may pick BPA. Green Bay needs OG and CB. But they took OT and C already. They go CB here. The Bills will have a choice of Stanley McClover, DE and most likely one of two Guards: Matua or Jean-Gilles. You're on the clock. What do you do?
  2. If we selected Leinart, whould WE have gotten the A+? No. Also, how can you grade a draft after Day 1, out of the context of the Day 2 picks, before they have tried to learn a playbook, before they have to interact with teammates in the locker room, and when none of them have put on an NFL uni?
  3. I'd be down with that. He likes cold weather. We have some. Or Matua--I like mean streak guys.
  4. I'm impressed with Levy, Jauron and Modrak's explanations of their picks (video is at Bills website). They are saying that the draftniks have their value board, and they have theirs. They actually had Leinart as a Round 2 prospect. If he can't come into our winds and cold and throw a deep spiral to Evans, did we want him?
  5. Max Jean-Gilles (OG), Fred Matua (OG/OT) and your DE's would be good picks. Sure hope it's a Guard in RD#4, though.
  6. We'll draft twice as many players today, and we have some real needs. A fast pass-rushing DE -- Frostee Rucker? Mike Kudla? A second DT --Jesse Mahelona, Orien Harris, Jonathan Lewis, Cofield, TJ Jackson A fearless tackling machine ILB -- ? A fullback named Bernstein or Vickers A running back -- Bell, Humes, Mathis A Guard -- Lots of them still remain (but Jean-Gilles won't be there at #8) A Tackle -- (I'm leaving TE off the list for now) A kick returner (McGee can't get hurt) Another gunner
  7. From another Rochesterian: Happy Birthday, Nick! I raise a quart of 5W-40 in a toast! (We droids avoid Genny Cream--it's a rust thing)
  8. If you were the head coach, and you knew the prototypical player that the Cover 2 required -- fast CB-like safeties--, and you looked at your roster, and you saw Milloy-Vincent-Wire-Baker, what would your first pick be? Beyond Huff-Whitner, there were flaws in every other Safety.
  9. At DE, Chris Gocong is still there. He's a quick guy, a film guy, and known for his pass rushing. Frostee Rucker is the name you recognize, and he's still there, too. If you want to wait until Round 5 where we have 2 picks, I have 3 guys highlighted at DE. Clayton Farrell Mike Kudla Brady Fosmark The ESPN guys like Kudla for his ability to generate pressure from his strength. He had the combine record bench press record, but he's not Leif Larsen. He'd be a pocket collapser rather than an edge guy.
  10. I agree about the DT. After reviewing what's left, it will be one of these: Jonathan Lewis (4th), Orien Harris (4th), Barry Cofield (5th), Tommy "TJ" Jackson (5th -- Character Guy) , Anthony Montgomery (6th) or Jeff Littlejohn (7th-- Character Guy). I don't think it will be Lewis, because we have some other holes to fill before getting back to DT, and there is always a decent guy let go or undrafted at DT. I'll say TJ Jackson. He's the quickest of those.
  11. I like Arizona's: QB Leinart, OG Deuce Latui, and TE Pope.
  12. I still think Youboty-Clements-McGee and Whitner-Baker is most excellent. No mo Ko.
  13. Kai Parham was supposed to be a 3rd Round LB, and he's still available. After that, I dunno. In Round 4, 5 or 6, I have three DE's we might be interested in: Mike Kudla--OSU Bullrusher, 10 sacks, 6'2", 260. Combine's bench press record, 45 reps. Most likely. Clayton Farrell--Smart, Div 2, 6'4", 275. High character. 2nd most likely. Brady Fosmark--15.5 TFL led the Big Sky conference, Div 2. I still think we're still getting another DT. Your list is great. My guesses are either , Tommy 'T.J.' Jackson (6-0 305 Auburn), who is like McCargo and a real character guy. Or Jonathan Lewis. He's the explosive type DT. The best Center left is Pat Ross, a quick guy. Eslinger's too small. I want a Guard. Rob Sims and Jean-Gilles are fine. For Tackle, I want Jon Scott first, Rashad Butler, Toledo or Whimper second, and Kevin Boothe third. Mike Bell (RB) and Bernstein (FB) would be good. Humes is still there. Wendell Mathis would be a good sixth round pick. You KNOW we'll take a big wide receiver for the red zone! Hank Baskett's still there. Devin Aromashodu will also go in RD#4. So will 6'4" Martin Nance. Jonathan Orr (17 ypc) from Wisconsin is there (and that's Lee Evans' school!).
  14. I had Youboty above Gordon and Minter at CB, and best in RD#3. I thought we'd wait on a CB until Day 2. Surprised that this isn't an OT, though. Jon Scott still on the board at OT, and Max Jean-Gilles at OG.
  15. McNeil wasn't my favorite for Round 3 OT. Willie Hall was. I like him better than Trueblood.
  16. There are quite a few Tackles though. I'll hold out for Jon Scott, Chas Spencer, or Willie Hall.
  17. Nothing yet from Miami. a soso DB, and their next pick is after ours.
  18. Whitworth played at LT, but may shift to RT in the NFL. That said, he'd be in the top 3 tackles I'd like to see in Buffalo. Great quickness.
  19. JETS SO FAR: ALL OFFENSE 1 4 Ferguson, D'Brickashaw OT 6-6 313 Virginia 1 29 Mangold, Nick C 6-4 299 Ohio State 2 49 Clemens, Kellen QB 6-2 223 Oregon PATS SO FAR: ALL OFFENSE 1 21 Maroney, Laurence RB 6-0 216 Minnesota 2 36 Jackson, Chad WR 6-1 212 Florida
  20. Winston would be a value now. He won't last though. Ryan O'Callaghan might, because of his injury. Colledge just went.
