  1. Do you guys realize you're wasting time debating whether we might be lucky enough to azquire another team's 3rd string QB???? Oh crap, so am I! Just build the team and stop all this nonsense.
  2. He might not even make the team...and our QBs suck!!!
  3. What's with this woody for Hangartner? And Wood may not play this year?? I'm with the original post....IF Nix/ Whaley are better drafters than the previous administrations.
  4. If you see him as a backup, it makes NO sense to tender him as that sets his salary for the year. Backup guards should be paid the veteran minimum and can be found anywhere. He might even come back at that level. But why pay him more?
  5. You need at least 4 safeties. Plus WHitner can cover if you need him to. That being said. I don't care what they do with him. He hasn't done enough for me to care.
  6. No. 40 y/o QB is step back for this team. Find out about TE and Brohm or start a rookie.
  7. What do you base that on? To be honest, I haven't heard anyone say anything about Hangartner or his play last year.
  8. Correct me if I'm wrong, but a tender only gives us a right of 1st refusal on the guy. It doesn't guarantee anything to Ellison. It seems like everyone is getting tendered because there is little downside.
  9. I understand. He did do right by us as a young man (60s). I don't blame him for taking the GM job in his 80s nearly as much as I blame Ralph for giving it to him. What if the Bills drafted a DT and DE in the top 3 rounds. Say a Dan Williams and a Alex Carrington. Throw a Rodger Saffold in between him. I'm just trying to think about the whatifs in the draft.
  10. I remember everyone clamoring for offensive draft picks to help Jim Kelly out and Marv said something like "If you want to help Jim Kelly, build the defense". Since it seemed to work in the late 80s, it's ringing in my head now. Does that apply now? Or no because we don't have our Jim Kelly....
  11. Not sure about Skelton's accuracy, but he would have no problem with wind. Very strong arm. Who knows. He's probably garbage, but he threw well at the combine.
  12. No. But if one guy projects him at 11, that's one thing. But EVERYONE had Maybin around 11. I don't even want to talk about Oher. It's too upsetting. I'm verklempt.
  13. I don't want to even read the rest of the posts. MAYS IS A FARCE! If the combine were a profession, he's be an all-star. Some great athletes are not great, or even good football players.
  14. I bought into the Jim Kelly Club last year and I am OUT as soon as I can (after 10). I think the "ticket prices" were $62 last year. It's the PSL that gets you. It's too calm in the red seats.
  15. No. His ranking that you referred to and his Moch were separated by 2 months. I think you're being hard on the Bills about Maybin....and I'm not supporting the pick. In fact, I hated it. But he's here, he's talented and it may work out.
  16. One more thing...I checked out those (WAAYYYYY) pre-draft rankings which were done about the time of the SENIOR BOWL (Maybin was redshirt soph- of course he was rated lower). If you click on the video, Mayock opens with how much he LOVES Shawn Nelson and that he is a complete TE, not just a downfield threat. Also said he could be a 2nd rounder.
  17. Well, then, CHRIST!!!, Mayock is an idiot!!! Whodathunk he's have his 5th ranked OLB going 11th. The point is...you're telling half the story to support your point. You're trying to say Maybin was a reach and throw some pre-draft positional rankings out there to support your point. But what you fail to include is THE SAME "expert" had him going 11th. Kiper had Maybin going AHEAD of the Bills to SF. Maybin was not a reach. He just was invisible in year 1. Apologies for calling your on your reference....
  18. Agreed. Unless we get a 3 for Lynch, he's worth more to us on our roster.
  19. I could accept that I was wrong if you came at me with some facts, but CHRIST, your post is not only FALSE, but Mayock's mock draft had the Bills taking........Aaron Maybin. http://blogs.nfl.com/2009/04/25/mayock-unveils-mock-draft/
  20. He's redundant as hell, but you have to give him that. My only reply is: the Bills are not going to the SB next year. Probably not even the playoffs. So if you CAN'T get a Manning/Brees type QB, then why not plug some other hole instead of reaching for a need?? Bradford AND Claussen have major questions and I hope we're not blind to those questions if one falls to us or we go up and get one.
  21. We have mediocre QBs. This year, beacause they say the QB class is weak, go big or go home. Maybe a 5th rounder. I would love the top 2 picks and they fit Buddy's criteria of drafting guys who played well for longer than a year. PS- I wonder what Maybin thinks when he hears Nix speak out against drafting 1 year wonders... I hope he's motivated by it, but we'll see.
