  1. Between anyone on this board and Bill Walsh, I'll lean towards Walsh's opinion of Edwards, which was favorable. Having Edwards on the roster without a replacement only sets us back if they name him the starter tomorrow. If he's the best guy, he plays. If not, cut him. But cutting him now ignores his '09 situation and ignored the fact that, *****y as he may be, he may be the Bills best option for this season. To say he just sucks because he sucks and he's *****y is really enlightening. Gailey is an offensive coach who made ****tier QB's than Edwards look okay. If he's there in late August, I am sure it's because he will deserve to be there.
  2. The only decent QB that could have survived behind that line was Fran Tarkington. Edwards may be David Carr. But could he be Jim Plunkett? Recall that Plunkett got the snot beat out of him in NE before heading on to greener pastures. It costs us relatively NOTHING to take a look at Edwards next year and he showed some things when the line was together to warrant the look. I seem to remember him looking good in Game 1. So we got THAT going for us...which is nice... And if Adrian Wilson's helmet was poised to be planted under my chin every week, you bet I'd be checking down too.
  3. Morgan got manhandled by Bulaga when they played IOWA. Dunno if that means everything, but it does mean something.
  4. We have a very talented Lee Evans and one of the all time great WRs WENT TO WASTE this year because of bad O-Line and QB play. Why waste even a 5th rounder on Jordan Shipley (who will be a 2nd rounder) when we can't get him the ball. FIX THE LINES!!! I'd like to see 2 OTs, 1 DT, 1 DE, 2 LBs and maybe a QB.
  5. Not to mention Rice operated in an offense with John Taylor, Roger Craig, Tom Rathman, a decent TE (Brent Johnson?). Most other great WRs had much more space than TO. I like him and hope TO comes back....or that James Hardy steps up. As a side note, don't you find it interesting that we passed on great FOOTBALL players like Haloti Ngata and Desean Jackson because they weren't the right KIND of football player. It's frustrating that we focused on the type and not the ability. I just hope we get a couple great football players in the draft. Like TO.
  6. THIS WILL NOT HAPPEN. Nix has said they will draft a guy with a history of success and I don't think projecting guys around fits that model. That being said, sign Incognito, play 5 Guards and just run all over people. I think that if the Bills don't take a bona fide LT at 9, or maybe a franchise QB, they'll trade outMaybe to someone who has a late 1st and 3 2nd rounders.
  7. Wilfork??? Now??? How long does Bill Belicheck have to school the league on unloading reputations for high draft picks? NO...you don't trade for Wilfork. How has Stroud worked out?? BUILD THE TEAM. If you want a Wilfork-type player, you draft a shiny new T. Cody this year, not trade for what Vince freakin Wilfork used to be. He may have some miles left and I might sign him as a free agent, but giving up the future of your team for him is a LOSER MOVE. Ask yourself the following: Do great teams trade themselves great or build themselves great?
  8. We don't even know what Maybin is yet. He hasn't seen training camp and he was playing for TWO coaches who were fighting for their jobs. If you were Jauron and Fewell, who would you play? The 5 year vet or the raw rookie? And it wasn't like Maybin was a reach. Half of the prognosticators had the Bills taking him. Now, I'd have rather seen Oher at 11 as the Langston Walker thing sounded thin from the get-go with no Plan B. And I'd also love to have seen Orakpo/Cushing production from #58. But labeling him a bust at this point is just wacky. The pick this year will be the best OLT available.
