  1. Scary thing is, in '09, Edwards had a higher completion percentage and QB rating. Both threw 1 more INT than TD. If you look at stats, there was absolutely NO improvement when Fitz took over. Niether would hang their hat on '09, not should they. I think Fitz is garbage and has a longer resume to prove it. TE may be as well. Maybe it's Brohm beacause we have less proof of how bad he can be.
  2. And neither Losman nor Edwards did anything to deserve being called d*bags. What about JP's beard?
  3. Losman's clock was off. If he got the ball out on time, he looked like a solid NFL QB. Likewise when he ran. But he's the polar opposite of Manning when it comes to diagnosing the play and getting the ball out. And he just didn't do it enough. 2010 will be TE's defining year. It's easy to say he sucks and will fail, but I remember seeing him in a few games where he managed the offense very well, so he'll prob get a shot.
  4. Manning is arguably the best QB in NFL history. Better than Kelly. Better than Marino. You can' t hold TE up to that standard. I agree with your points about Manning, but he's an extremely rare and exceptional player.
  5. Ahh...and then there's that insightful analysis...
  6. Most of the people who want TE gone just want DIFFERENT and I can't blame them. Turn the page. I suppose we'll know soon enough what direction we're going. My only remaining comment on our QB situation is: I seem to remember Brian Brohm being a better prospect when he came out than Edwards, LeFevour, Thigpen or anyone else mentioned. Maybe he has coachable tools.
  7. Ignorant...Obviously the combine will be very important to guys like LeFevour. If he lights up the numbers, someone will buy the package. QB is too important and worth risks like this guy. Hey...he could have sucked on his level..The combine and maybe his pro day will determine his round. It's not even worth speculation till then.
  8. He can only rebound with the proper O-line and coaching. Maybe this will be his first year of that. Of course, it may happen in another locale, but I think it's hard to judge he or Fitz based on '09 disaster. My buddies in Cincy insist that Fitz is the worst QB to ever play in Cincy...and that's saying something...
  9. Take away an experienced OC and a competent O-line, I wonder how many QBs would have maintained their confidence level. It's not a full on defense of Edwards, but I just wonder if we bail now...is it 1 year too early? I think he showed enough when we had an OC and a line to merit another look.
  10. There is absolutely no reason to trade Lee Evans. Let's keep good and trade/release bad. Genius, I know.
  11. Chris Spielman. Dunno if he's x and O smart, but he certainly has the passion you like.
  12. He showed more promise than any prospect (or suspect) we've had in years, now it feels like going out on a limb to say he should get a shot at the job. I think the odds are way in favor of him being our opening day starter over anyone else in the poll.
  13. Yeah... I thought it was a trick question too. Edwards is our QB with a promising draft pick understudy. It'll sink in sooner or later.
  14. Another slap at Bills fans?...aren't you a Bills fan??? Therefore...you must want Troy Smith. Dunno why...
  15. Evans is a good player who shows up every day, but he can be covered. Marshall can't be covered, but he doesn't show up every day. Tough call. I'd say get a guy who can get him the ball, keep him upright, then figure out who "him" is. Even the best WR's only touch the ball 8-10 times a game.
  16. Not that Kelsay is the second coming, but I think those calling for his head are off by one position. Marcus Stroud routinely gets blown off the ball and leaves gaping holes on that side of the line. Has has no motor. I'd rather have Kelsay, who at least gives a crap, than big ole invisible #99.
  17. Bingo. I think Kelsay will actually be a decent 3-4 end. He's 20 lbs heavier than Schobel right now. Schobel is a football player. If anyone could make a position switch, it would be him....but he is on the wrong side of 30 and may not be up to it.
  18. There's nowhere to go but up. And he's got 4 major holes that need to be filled. Unless we draft a db, how could anyone be pissed?
  19. Con - Matt Schaub, Tom Brady, Drew Brees, Brett Favre, Kurt Warner, David Garrard, Kyle Orton, Tony Romo, Matt Cassel. Also Con - More 1st round QBs are busts than successful. Have we really seen enough out of Bradford or Claussen to convince us to ignore our 10 other glaring needs? I haven't.
  20. Horrible idea. Never trade 2nd rounder for anyone over 30. Lynch and Schobel.
  21. AMEN...WR IS NEVER A GLARING NEED WHEN YOUR OL SUCKS AND YOU HAVE QUESTIONS EVERYWHERE ELSE. If there reaally good, they touch the ball 9 or 10 times a game. I'll puke if they draft a WR in the 1st 3 rounds.
  22. While I appreciate the effort and don't disagree with the assertion, that process is the same for every position on the team. I don't think the Bills are special in their process. It does stress how important the QB position is. It also stresses how much of a crapshoot it is. We gave up a lot of high picks for guys like Hobert, Johnson, Losman, Edwards, etc... Maybe you draft a QB every year and hope you get lucky.
