  1. Agreed. Too often we want to stay with the familiar and it may be what's killing us. PS -Don't forget that he sucked as a QB too. Great guy though. Met him in Myrtle. Good people. Have no idea what he did to earn the job in Tampa, but good luck.
  2. Well, my apologies then. I haven't seen a trade down or trade up scenario on this board. When I think that the Bills could have traded up 1 spot to get Willis and 1 spot to get Rottenbiker, I think we missed an opportunity that other teams are willing to take advantage of. Teams move around all the time. If the situation is right, why NOT us?
  3. Had the same thought. Response would be the same as when Gailey was hired. A big, collective...HUH????
  4. My god people. I just grabbed NE out of thin air cause I knew they had extra picks and was wondering what we could expect to get FROM ANYONE if we dropped down 10 spots. Okay...I concede...Belicheck will never do this. THE RELEVANT QUESTION IS: SHOULD WE??? Maybe trading down would be worth looking at if QBs, OTs and McClain are gone by 9th pick. Maybe not. But I'd rather explore new ideas than rehash old Bills greats, Sabres games and what Phil Simms thinks about anything.
  5. Just looked up and saw Cotrell was our DC 95-2000. Who was our DC during the Superbowl years? I thought it was him. Regardless, it's Joe Vitt or some other obscure guy.
  6. Cottrell did little more to distinguish himself than watch Bruce play. How about Joe Vitt for DC? He's the Assistant Head Coach of the Saints and has been coaching defenses for years. He's the most qualified among the SB participants and that would explain the delay. Not inspiring, but logical.
  7. Schobel is probably just an average to good NFL player. The fact that anyone on either of our lines stands out usually means a penalty. Bottom line:I forgot what great looks like.
  8. Washington is the key. If they take QB, the other will go to Seattle or Cleveland. That's my guess.
  9. An example of a trade that did happen. In 2008-No. 8: Ravens to Jaguars. Baltimore traded its first-round selection to Jacksonville for Jacksonville's first-round selection, two third-round selections, and fourth-round selection (No. 26, 71, 89, 125). Just throwing it out there. What if Bulaga , McClain, Bradford and Claussen are gone and NE is hot for pass rusher (JP Paul)? Not sure NE would do it, but that's what a trade out looks like. Hey, what impact have we gotten out of 11, 13, 13 and 8?
  10. I hope Belicheck wants to get into the top 10. The Bills could trade their 1st (9) and 3rd (72) to the Pats for their 1st (22), 2nd (47) and 2nd (53). The point chart has us giving up 1580 and getting 1580. After the deal, we would have 22, 41, 47 and 53 instead of 9, 41 and 72. I'm thinking the Pats might not want to pay 3 second rounders and it makes sense for the Bills rebuild to do this deal. Consider that Bflo got Wood, Byrd and Levitre in that span last year.
  11. Stroud sounded like a great idea until he got here. Peppers would probably be the same. The only UFA I might want is Richard Seymour 'cause he may want to stick it to Belicheck. NOOOOO on Peppers.
  12. C'MON GUYS.....YOU NEED BOTH!!! Whatever scheme your running, your front 7 has to be solid. And right now we have Kyle Williams, Poz and maybe Schobel. The rest is garbage. Whatever round you draft them in or street corner you pick them off, we need players. 7 of them. Just becase they, for example, pick McClain in the 1st and a DT in the 3rd, doesn't mean LB is more or less important. DL holds position, LB fills gaps. How about a Pat Williams (free agent), Damato Peko (3rd round), Brett Keisel (7th round). Enough of this DL/LB debate.
  13. Not even Nawrocki would say 15 out of 32 is typical.....unless he wanted to sell more draft books. I wold put his over/under at 10 this year.
  14. And IF McClain is Lewis/Willis/healthy Urlacher, you can throw a Tony Siragusa type player in front of him and be okay. But he better be an upgrade over Poz.
  15. One more thing about Polian's genius 6th rounder. The Colts left tackle is actually a guard that is covering for a rare Polian draft miss, LT Tony Ugoh. When the Colts draft another OT this year, it'll tell you what they think of their 6th round "Stud".
  16. I've been digging around on the computer today and I'm surprised on how high Bulaga is being projected. As high as 5 and no lower than 20. One mock even had him going to the Bills. Bulaga in the top 15 is starting to make sense. I did the 1st third of my mock and the Bills are tough because they draft behind Al Davis. Right now, it's between McClain and OT Davis with Claussen going to equally egotistical Shanahan and Bradford matching up well with Holmgren in Cleveland. I put Davis in there, but if Al Davis takes Tebow or some other 3rd rounder, maybe we go Bulaga. Just an early thought.
  17. 13/32 is once since 1988. I don't claim to be an expert. A friend and I just do the draft every year. The winner gets a hockey jersey of his choice. I am usually around 8, but have had bad years too. I will be happy to post my draft. In fact, I hope there's a thread where we all post our draft.
  18. That is great about Nawrocki's last year's draft, but I've been as high as 13 correct picks and I just follow it casually. And we pick 24 hours before the draft, not 4 hours. It's not that hard. There is so much information out there, we all think we know something. All I know for sure is I hope we take a solid football player and I wish we still had Bill Polian.
  19. Nawrocki is no Buchsbaum and I think he is reaching all over that board (Bulaga at 5!!??). Now, I presume he's done more research than I have, but it's not consistent with anything I hear on Sirius or on other websites. If he's even close, he's a genius. As long as it's O Line or front 7, a football player and not combine stats, I'm happy.
  20. If we don't draft a LT soon, you might as well draft a crash test dummy for a QB.
  21. Marv Levy was the General Manager responsible for football operations and, despite the affection for previous accomplishments, WAS A DISASTER AS A GM. Set the Bills back 5 years.
  22. Even more confusing is that the Bengals say "Who Dey"??. Who owns that? The Bengals started in 1937 or so? Forget all the McDonald's talk. They have more lawyers than burgers. If someone is selling an NFL Saints Fluer de lis with ANY phrase on it, it patent/trademark infringement. I'd rather work for the NFL on that suit.
