Guess you missed the regular season where he impacted not much. Hey if he gets a burst and penetrates he can be successful. If not, he gets ragdolled by the OL. There's been plenty of games he dissappears.
He didn't record a single tackle. Look you like the guy. So do I. He's good when he gets the jump and gets pushed around otherwise. Last year that worked out to few sacks and lots of yards given up on the ground. We'll see if this year he makes more of an impact.
I don't disagree with you on that. I just don't thing EO is worth extending. His zero tackle performance against Cincy's second string OL really cemented it for me. He gets pushed around.
Conversely, a other meh year and we're stuck with him. He doesn't get swallowed up all the time, but a lot. And he doesn't get sacks. He disappears a lot. Maybe Poona and now Floyd will keep the OL off him to penetrate. We' see. I hope to be wrong about him but his body of work to date doesn't warrant the contract.
Someone better than serviceable. No need to sign him now. We signed 2 solid starting one techs for less than EO. If he could actually sack a QB without getting swallowed up by average OLs, $15 mil would be a bargain.
Spelling aside, I think striving for "serviceable" is not the way to win a championship. We need to drop that kind of coin on a higher "caliber" player.
BBF, I wasn't being literal. I get catches vs. targets. So a bit flip, sure. Still his drops were a major issue, especially for a #2 WR. My guess is he's a true #3 or with our present wide out collection, a #2B.
Wrong. Had a concussion last year, his 6th in 8 years.
