  1. 1st, 2nd or 3rd. If he lasts until the 4th, the brass should consider.
  2. lol... exactly what i was thinking. he's only started a handful of games -- everyone has to be, including carolina, a bit leery doling out a massive contract. granted, he looked pretty damn solid at the end of the season, but, i think there are more viable options for the bills, especially if we have to give up a pick.
  3. they could, but the pats would have a huge hole to fill then. i don't see how that really helps the pats this year.
  4. too risky for my taste when we have so many other needs, but there's something to be said about his leadership and ability to win. if he falls late, he'll be a great value pick for some team.
  5. Miller was outstanding... but, it really seemed that Canada still controlled the pace of the game. To me, they look more dangerous than the US team. At many points throughout the game, it seemed like the US team was pressed up against the wall. If Brodeur tightens up his game the way he can, I still think Canada should be the favorite to win. But, we all know, especially in Buffalo, that good goaltending can steal you many games. Fingers crossed for the USA.
  6. Sabres -- obviously San Diego Chargers Boston Red Sox Baltimore Orioles
  7. Dante would be a bad decision. His most productive years were completely due to the fact that he had an amazing running game w/ Robert Smith and one of the best tandems at WR in league history w/ Moss and Carter. After that, he did nothing.
  8. I used to work w/ Dan Meyer when I lived in Buffalo, and not only is he a solid writer and stand up guy, but he knows his sports, especially baseball and football. Don't question his integrity or call him a hack, because you sound like a fool.
  9. not really... but there were too many commercial breaks that seem to break up the feel of the game. but, that happens every year.
  10. he's under contract, and the falcons will not let him go. they're one injury away at that position from potentially being 10-6 to 7-9.
  11. like i said before, it will probably be ac/dc... they're due, especially b/c the stones and the who have already played. you need a global marquee name for that spot b/c that's what the sponsor wants. the police and led zeppelin (w/ bonham's kid on drums) are other possibilities, but, both just did a reunion tour/show. but, if they're going to go young, it might be Green Day or one of them young country signers.
  12. If everything goes well in this year's draft, we draft a WR in 2011. There's too many question marks at WR's on the team... Hardy, Johnson and Parrish. We don't know the potential of any of these players yet. I personally don't want to add to that cluster this season.
  13. What I saw yesterday -- on multiple occasions -- was that the defenses were putting pressure on the QB, but Brees/Manning timed their passes so well and eluded rushers that many of them became undefensible. Manning must have the deadliest 3 step drop of any quarterback ever, and Brees can get rid of the ball to his secondary receivers/Rbs in lightening time. OL is very, very important, but, c'mon... we could of had Dallas' O-line and Edwards/Fitz would have still been mediocre. They don't have the intangibles or accuracy that Manning and Brees have. Bills/Colts game is completely moot... the Bills were playing against back-ups.
  14. The bigger story here is that the Bills,Browns, etc. expressed interest in McNabb to the Eagles directly -- essentially meaning if they are willing to trade, these organizations would be up for it. But, talks will not go forward from there. They need both McNabb and Kolb. Why on earth would they get rid of a top-10 QB to make way for a guy who started just a handful of games? If the Eagles are going to give up a player, it will be Vick, and probably to the Rams. The Rams are interested in Vick, and probably would be willing to give up a 3rd for his services. Both Rams HC and McNabb eluded to that this weekend.
  15. I may not be as old as some of the fans on this board, but I started to watch the Bills in 1986 -- when they started to put things together. It took several years for things to fall into place, but, there is definitely a gut feeling that I'm getting that the moves they have made so far, from Gailey down to DeHaven are the right ones. Player moves are next -- and this draft will be paramount -- but, even at 6-10, we do have some players... more than the Browns, Rams, Jaguars, and several other teams we seem to be getting lumped with. What I love the most about all of this is the Gailey hiring. I've been a Gailey fan for years... he could make any QB look good, but give him a Sam Bradford, McNabb or someone who can actually become elite, then you'll see how talented a coach he really is.
  16. two good seasons... he's going to be 33 when the season begins. And after 35, I find it hard to believe he's going to be posting good sack numbers b/c he will probably be lacking the speed.
  17. McNabb and TO were hanging out this past weekend in Miami -- they were even taking photos together and tweeting about it. I guess that relationship is on the mend.
  18. Porter has two seasons left in the tank, and next year, at least statistically, will prove to be one of is best b/c he wants to show the Fins and the entire NFL that he's still an elite player. He's definitely an energizer and would bring some nastiness to our defense; however, with all of that said, I find it highly unlikely he'll land in Buffalo. My guess is that he'll wind up with a contender that already has a decent defense.
  19. McNabb is not past his prime... if we have learned anything the past several years. it's that older QBs still can do well in this league. McNabb is still among the best QBs in the league (definitely top 10), and would help Buffalo tremendously for the next three to four seasons. He is easily worth a 2nd round draft pick, and Buddy and Chan know that. Look what he did w/ the youngins this year at the WR/TE position. If McNabb would have had half of running game this year, their offense would have been even more explosive. I like the pursuit b/c Evans/Reed would finally get the signal caller they deserve.
  20. I'd be very, very surprised if this came true. But, if it did, it would solidify my stance on why Gailey was the right choice.
  21. Gailey is a great offensive mind -- better than Billick, Gruden or Cowher. He made Jay Fielder look like a star for Christ's sake. This is a smart move by the Bills. There is only so many times I can write this. It's a smarter move than Frazier, B. Schott or Grimm. The Nix/Gailey tandem will prove to be fruitful.
