President cancels Eagles trip to White House
dpberr replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Eagles players can choose not to attend a party. The President can choose not to hold the party. No problem. Agree to disagree. I don't know about you but the flexing of the democracy makes me feel good. -
The Bills Have Filed to Trademark "Respect the Process"
dpberr replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I understand why the Sixers never trademarked it. Back when the Sixers were "in" the process, the NBA literally stepped in and staged a coup because the 76ers were so terrible, so non-competitive. Sam Hinkie was run out of town. Fans demanded it. Adam Silver demanded it. Today, the process looks like a stroke of genius and the NBA has a hard time admitting that it worked. -
Roseanne Show cancelled by ABC after racist tweet

IMO, Bee's comments are grounds for getting canned too. If a man called any woman a C*** on television, not to mention it's the POTUS daughter he's directing it at, not only would that show be cancelled but his career would all but be over. I have no idea why any woman would call another woman that name, ESPECIALLY in this alleged #metoo climate we're all marinating in. It's harassment all the same. I used to like Samantha Bee when she first started out but she ended up like Colbert where the only shtick they have (or want to have) is politics and if everyone is doing politics, you keep crossing lines to remain relevant. -
I received a Scotts "foldable" wheelbarrow once as a gift. The first (and only) time I used it, it folded with a full load of dirt in it and it made for entertaining viewing for the neighbors (who coincidentally were having a yard sale) as I collapsed on top of the now collapsed wheelbarrow. When I got myself off the ground and tried to get this back up and on it's wheel, it collapsed again, spilling most of the dirt this time. Haha I've threatened to re-gift this terrible idea at Christmas because the episode has made for a good story. I'm still surprised no company has invented a push button weed trimmer that starts up with...just a push of a button. I've had better success with better quality trimmers and using non-ethanol gasoline these days but the big box brand trimmers just become victims of fits of rage after the 75th pull and nothing. I recall that my neighbor turned his Craftsman trimmer into a javelin one summer and launched it. Just like Brick launches the trident in the Anchorman movie.

Roseanne Show cancelled by ABC after racist tweet

You'd think at this point in her life and career she'd have the self discipline to protect the good, lucrative thing she's got going...but nope. -
Flooring - Which is best - Need avice

With a dog that large, have you thought about tile, especially the tile that looks like the wood? I see that being used in a lot of high traffic areas where wood won't cut it but they also don't want the usual 12x12 tile look either. I don't think there is a wood out there that's going to stand up to the wear and tear of a Mastif who'll live a long wonderful life. -
Stadium Construction Facts & Figures
dpberr replied to corta765's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The NFL and the NFL owners will continue to apply generous pressure to the Pegulas to build a new stadium, regardless of the facts and issues efficiently detailed above. Part of that pressure I'm sure comes from the salary cap mindset of the owners - "Well I had to invest *my* money into a new stadium, so the rest of your billionaires should have to as well." Question: Would the stadium of the future have less seats to watch the game live and more restaurants/bars/entertainment infrastructure on "campus" where watching the game is part of the experience but not the entirety of it? Instead of watching the game in the stands, you'd have lunch and bar at the on-campus Bills restaurant where you can watch the game *with* Bills greats and even Bills not-so greats for some variety. ? -
Vanilla Ice and the Vultures are not compelling villains. He even has a tour bus.

Another school shooting - Texas

Adolescent mental illness will make the opioid epidemic look small and manageable in the coming years. It's that strengthening F5 hurricane off shore, aided by the denial or ignorance of parents that refuse to take action despite all the lights blinking on the board. "It can't be our Timmy" they always say or "it's so exhausting, we just can't deal with it anymore", they say. All the school shooters (and even mail bombers) going back to Harris and Klebold were telegraphing significant mental illness and forthcoming violence. The common denominator is a set of weak parents that did absolutely nothing to prevent it. We had a recent case here locally in Bucks County where a kid shot and killed four other kids, burnt and buried them all in one afternoon. His record of mental illness and run-ins with law enforcement was lengthy yet mom and dad let him have access to firearms and turned a blind eye to his mental health. -
May Movies: Deadpool, Solo, Overboard, & Breaking In
dpberr replied to Mark Vader's topic in Off the Wall Archives
"Book Club" sounds like the kind of movie you could torture prisoners with and they'd be 1) begging for mercy and 2) telling you what you want to know within 45 minutes. -
I don't see the appeal either. It's funny that an entire country is still taking "royalty" way too seriously in the 21st Century. That being said, one comment: His brother needs to shave his head. I feel bad for him because he's the only one who still thinks he's got a fighting chance to beat his inevitable baldness. He looks 20 years older than he is by keeping the little hair he has.

Golfer Lucas Glover... might be time to pack your bags
dpberr replied to YoloinOhio's topic in Off the Wall Archives
The cruel irony is that the high school sweetheart he punted for this heavy drinking sociopath was probably neither a heavy drinker or sociopath. Just not blonde or rail thin. Best case scenario is that he has to pay a barge-load of alimony after a tense divorce and the kids end up being ok despite it all. Worst case scenario is where she's been drinking and has access to weapons other than her fists. Abusive people rarely de-escalate their behaviors. -
I think it is nearly impossible to beat a team with four great players unless your team also has four great players. The only way GSW becomes mortal is if they get tired of winning championships and guys like Durant and/or Thompson leave the team. I think Durant's decision is a lot more important than what LeBron does in the off-season.

Which Bills Decision Infuriated You?
dpberr replied to BuffaloRush's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Cutting Fred Jackson. The timing of that decision infuriated me. -
One of the best episodes of the series. In part, the Walking Dead shows do these standalone backstory shows quite well. John's episode is right up there with the quality of Morgan's from a few seasons ago. This episode also had no major previous season FTWD characters in it whatsoever. ?

Why do journalists/columnists write what they write? Under immense pressure to produce content. Any content. So long...as there is content. If you need five stories a week, a two decades old case about your new head coach looks inviting. That's why you have the half baked product called journalism in the Buffalo News. You can write opinion helluva lot faster than a well-researched, well-resourced article. Those take time.

The deal was worthless the day it was signed. The only ones who thought it was any sort of "deal" were Kerry, Obama and the Neville Chamberlains in Europe who were relieved they didn't have to deal with it anymore because signed paper! It's not like the Iranians stopped doing anything.

More journalism. The generic SBNation website is syndicated talk radio monologues in text, without commercial interruption. You'd think that corporate would at least require this guy to cross check it with the Bills-dedicated SB Nation writers. You know...the people that have actually stepped foot in the stadium at least once.

Whether shooting a rifle or throwing a football, years of learned behavior and bad habits takes a long time to correct. It's not something training camp is going to fix. In regards to Josh Allen, I am one of those fans concerned about the completion percentage because I think the "look at the quality of his wide receivers!" argument is fanboy excuse making. I'm ok with the pick - if Allen is successful, the Bills are too. The inaccuracy suggests that there is learned behavior and/or mechanics that require adjustment. If Allen follows an Aaron Rodgers career track, I'm sure there would be improvement. However, if he's thrust into the starting role this year, he's going to rely on those instincts and methods that have gotten him this far and that's bad news.

I don't understand what the different colors mean. The so-called villains don't seem to be armed and aren't doing anything but camping out and where does Maggie Grace get all that diesel fuel to run that beast of a truck? If you want to see Garrett Dillahunt in a memorable scene, check out the season finale of Season 1 of the Terminator Chronicles - "What He Beheld." I haven't seen an action scene shot like that before it, or since.
