  1. Another Bills game on network TV for me. It's been a banner year for seeing the game on plain ol' television.
  2. Somebody will sign him. Teams didn't want to be any part of the spectacle today.
  3. It'd be nice if he were on the sidelines for the games. While he may not be on the field, his attitude would be a boost to those that are.
  4. Bring them all in for a look. Antwan Odom was a good player before all the injuries and getting shot in the leg in August, but hey why not.
  5. I'm not familiar with Toronto sports facilities, but is there nowhere else to play a football game besides that cavern? It'd be nice if they could turn it into something like the NHL did with the outdoor hockey games and make it a unique experience.
  6. Horrible recent drafts and bloated contracts have doomed this team. If the Colts do end up having the #1 pick in the draft, I'd trade it for picks spent on defense, and spread out those picks over two years so you have high picks in two consecutive drafts. The Colts aren't going to fix that excuse for defense in a year. There isn't a single strength on defense outside the ends, who aren't getting any younger. I'd keep Manning.
  7. I agree zow. By convincing, I meant a win where we don't give up a bazillion yards like we have so far this season. I'd like to see a game where the Bills lead from start to finish, and the anxiety of Bills nation stays fairly low so we can all have a relaxing gameday Sunday afternoon for a change.
  8. He's free to do what he wants. However, I think his ego led him to make a poor decision. Even if you're a backup, you remain a valuable contributor to the team. Besides, when it comes to lines, is there really such a thing as backups when you've got all sorts of rotations and the likelihood of injuries? You don't take your ball and go home at the first moment you disagree with management. I don't like when anybody does that. Makes you look small.
  9. If we can't beat John Beck and the gang, and do it convincingly, we have no business thinking about playoffs.
  10. Ouch I misfired on my post. I was trying (and failed) to make the point that while those other guys all stayed in football in some regard either a GM or a coach on another team, Vermeil was the only one totally out of football (for a long time) and then came back and was successful.
  11. He's been out of the game completely for five years now. I doubt he comes back. Five years shows me he's happy doing what he's doing and making a ton of money doing it. Should he try, my guess is it will go the way of Joe Gibbs and not Dick Vermeil. (only coach in NFL history to take two different teams to the Super Bowl.) You can't just decided one day to coach again and expect five years of scheme innovation and evolution of the game not to be a big problem.
  12. I thought we exclusively drafted out of the SEC. Who's available in that conference?
  13. Bad year to be a Saints lineman. Second one to retire this season.
  14. It'd be political suicide for the folks in Albany to use taxpayer money to upgrade the stadium without assurances. Politicians aren't smart but they have a keen sense of self preservation. I'm probably in the minority on this issue but while the public has not been privy to the details, I've thought that the post-Wilson succession plan has been in place for years and this (upgrades to the stadium) is a calculated step in the process.
  15. If the state of NY signs on to this deal, you know that the ownership issue post Ralph Wilson is not an area of concern.
  16. I'm with the gang on this one. OLB should be the priority.
  17. I'd enjoy seeing the Tiki Barber experiment proposed by PFT. I think Best is done for the year.
  18. You're right. Good find. Such an insignificant NFL career that PFR.com has nary a mention of him being in that game.
  19. John Beck could not beat out Cleo Lemon in 2007 on that horrible 1-15 Dolphins squad, whom we swept. Beck was the backup to Lemon that season and the Bills did not face him. Until last Sunday, he hadn't played in a game since 2007. I have no idea what Shanahan was thinking with the QBs this year. Going into a season with Grossman and Beck as your solutions seems like a desperation move to get yourself fired. I'm surprised he didn't go out and find Jeff Smoker or Chad Hutchinson or Ken Dorsey.
  20. John Beck as a starter? That only means Shanahan dares Redskins fans to watch the game.
  21. I feel the Washington game is important. Losing going into the bye, you don't want to come out flat and lose the first game after it. This team rides on intensity and emotion, and I think it would take a big hit with a loss in Toronto. Washington with Beck at QB is a very winnable game, and we need all those we can get, regardless if it's in the conference or not.
  22. He has an acute allergy to tackling football players. Did you see what the Eagles want in return?
  23. I wonder who the Raiders are going to cut to squeeze that new salary in under the cap.
  24. I know a previous poster said he thinks the Giants game will cost us the playoffs. I think it may be a loss against Washington. That's a must have win after the bye. If we can't beat up John Beck...
  25. Mangold is their MVP. Without him, they lose that game last night. The Jets are very beatable.
