  1. This is what the Ravens players grade the facilities - (from that NFLPA report card earlier this year). They did fire their strength and conditioning coach before the season. They have a new one now. I suspect the Ravens do not have a great offseason program for their players, so they are coming in over trained, or improperly trained where ligaments and tendons were beat to death in off season conditioning and wear out OR they come into shape fat and not ready to play. Both scenarios create injuries. They haven't even gotten to Lamar's annual injury buffet.
  2. Legitimately tore the time/space continuum in Buffalo, one of the most consequential decisions he ever made as owner.
  3. She's a mess, but smart. With money. I'm sure there's money and NDAs flowing. Wouldn't be a bit surprised she makes guys sign one prior to a date. My personal conspiracy theory is she's a lot like Whitney Houston was - she dates women or a woman in secret, likely proximate to where the boyfriend "is" and she doesn't want that impacting her career. I don't think it'd matter much today, but back when Swift was a country star, that likely would have had consequences.
  4. It'll be dead soon because advertisers will spend their money elsewhere, or save it for live broadcasts. ESPN is reaching that MTV inflection point where they will cut costs by running re-runs of Coach and White Shadow for like 20 hours of the programming day. Don't laugh - it's coming - they will market it as "retro" sports programming. For ESPN, this is not a conversation about quality programming. It's about cheaply filling airtime at the lowest cost possible, where the cost of filling the airtime remains below the ad revenue that comes into the company. These debate shows are cheap to run until the personalities price themselves out of existence. It's not that anyone cares what Stephen A Smith thinks, but for what ESPN pays for him, he soaks up *a lot* of that available airtime.
  5. I think she's a mess behind the scenes. Most people show you exactly who they are if you pay attention. (Blank space song.) There's something there that keeps men away, sometimes on separate continents.
  6. He was drafted way too high. He's 75% great athlete, 25% legit QB. Fields would have benefited from sitting the entire 2021 year, learning the game. I know Dalton got injured, but they should have signed a FA and given Fields time to learn the game.
  7. Once the weather turns cold/bad, you'll need Murray and Harris at full strength. Those two guys are quietly big parts of this offense come November - when the weather gets messy and winds pick up and you need a hard nosed run game. They will win a football game for the Bills this season.
  8. Payton's most significant hurdle was (and remains) getting RW to perform at average to above average quarterbacking, with average receivers. Denver will be in a lot of shootouts this year because they have an *undisciplined* defense that plays out of control at key times. Kareem Jackson is good, but he'll get kicked out of a lot of games this year if he keeps it up. He rocked Meyers last week and went for the head of Logan Thomas yesterday. His ejection (and the penalty) completely flipped that game to Washington.
  9. I thought Game 1 went well. Had to adjust the entire defensive plan after four snaps. I think that if it was Wilson behind center a week prior to the game, they would have shut down the run game and make Wilson win it with his arm.
  10. Giants. The entire team didn't show up for a home opener and got demolished.
  11. He better get straightened out emotionally and cognitively. Can't play like he just snorted the entire bag of cocaine in the tunnel before warmups.
  12. CBS Sports had a great read on how snake bitten the Jets are as a franchise with QBs. I forgot that the Jets had great expectations for a 1999 campaign, after reaching the championship game in 1998. Much like 2023, it imploded in the first game when Vinny Testaverde, who went to the Pro Bowl in 1998, tore his Achilles in the second quarter against the Patriots. The Jets would finish 8-8, trotting out several quarterbacks through the season. Also in the 1999 campaign, the Bills lost their opener to the Colts, getting their doors blown off 31-14. Flutie had a terrible game, going 22-42 for 300 yards, with 2 picks, and five sacks.
  13. I don't think Ken Dorsey calls every play. I suspect Josh Allen gets to pick plays himself for big chunks of the game, and it's often the completely wrong play to pick, it inevitably goes bust, and the hero ball commences. A calm, collected offense doesn't throw the ball 46 times when you're up on an opponent in a game like last night. It is more precise. It uses the bruising running backs it has to soften up that defensive line and run the clock.
  14. Play calls stunk. Trying, sometimes desperately, to make Cook happen. Demoralizing loss.
  15. Theyaew going to let these ***** guys back into a game they have no business winning.
