  1. I'm not sure about the "no doubt" but I do agree with the rest of it....
  2. To me, Chris Willams has been even worse! I'd play Richardson at LG, his natural position and begin prepping CK for RG...JMO
  3. They do have a LG: his name is Cyril Richardson and he's a Rookie but he's the guy of the future
  4. But truthfully, that can be said about nearly any great play...a great run requires blocking, a great pass requires a catch and maybe run after the catch. It's a team sport that is co-dependent on many other moving and working parts to be in synergy for one coherent objective, and so while you're right he didn't juke much or break tackles, I don't think that takes away from his vision and decisiveness regarding the slot and certainly can't take away his speed...if it were easy to do, there would many kickoff returns for TDs of close to a 100 yards each week...so, you're right, CJ wasn't Superman on the play, but he certainly showed brilliance in utilizing the lanes and his talent and God-given ability in his speed to outpace the Phins...
  5. As I said in another thread, I truly believe he's just pissed the team is staying in Buffalo forcing him to continue to cover the BILLS...so, they could win the Super Bowl and he'd take umbrage with commercials...
  6. Not to nit-pick, but to your last statement about fewer sacks, I will take 9 fewer sacks over the course of a season with a MUCH improved Run Defense and giving up fewer points, than those sacks...and of course, I'm not suggesting that you wouldn't either, just to make the point that fewer sacks but a better Run Defense and giving up fewer points allows the BILLS to win more games and probably be more effective overall as a Defense...but, thanks for doing the research and finding that tid-bit...
  7. You are correct Sir, and thanks for pointing that out! In my haste, I twisted my recollection....but on all accounts: agreed!!
  8. Absolutely...a real shame but true. And I agree, Trent Edwards was never the same after that hit in AZ...he never fully recovered. As for this year, I also agree this team has a different "feel" to it. I posted the same yesterday in another thread that this team "feels" like the Seahawks of 2012, a good football team that relied on Defense and good running game with efficient QB play but wasn't quite there yet to achieve the Super Bowl until another year of football maturity made them primed for it...this BILLS team seems to be just like that one, good in various ways and even great in one or two ways, but still ascending and trending upwards toward even better...but, I temper my enthusiasm for the final record and yes / no to playoffs in large part due to the very season you speak of....ughh!
  9. what I like the most, is that the BILLS are not automatically denied a hope for a Win...I can't pick this game, too much in my mind to do so...I truly do believe the BILLS can win this game, as they've shown some really good football overall, but San Diego is a dangerous team and played against Seattle in a short week, which makes a resounding statement.
  10. Jboys: first, I have a wife I actually like a 2 year old little girl I love dearly, so watching the game while I'm hanging out with them is just what Sundays are for me, perfection; second, while the atmosphere cannot even come close to being duplicated in my home, it's one of the reasons I love HD, great picture and never out of sight....not to mention there are no drunk a-holes spilling their beer on me. Bonus
  11. Before we start talking Playoffs, as many others have said, we just need the BILLS to handle their week 3 opponent...but I'll say this, in those previous years the BILLS were a "surprising" 3-0 to even us as fans...but many here, saw the talent and saw how the BILLS are just "different" this year than in many others. This year, I truly believed that if the QB play was sufficient, not great or amazing, just sufficient the BILLS are a playoff team in every other aspect...this year, it *feels* like they have it to get to the playoffs and who knows from there...remember the Giants limping in to the playoffs at 8-8 to and then to face the 19-0 Patsies only to win the Super Bowl? But, this team has a Seattle feel to it, not last year's team but two years ago, a good Defense, a good running game, (so far at least) good Special Teams and if, it's a huge a*s IF, the QB play can be equally decent there really is no telling how far the team can go...
  12. To be fair to both EJ and Woods, on the your second point: not sure if you were able to see the re-run or a Vine of that play, but EJ snapped the ball and three Defenders in his lap in about a second, he was back peddling and throwing off his back foot, so that one, I put a little on the Offensive line and I think why it was at Woods' feet...although I give EJ credit for getting rid of the ball very quickly, it avoided a sack
  13. Whatever works!! LOL, but I'm sure having guys like Fred Jackson and Kyle Williams who know what it means to be in the NFL and fly under the radar also greatly helps...good guys, good leaders, hard workers, and productive on Sundays.
  14. Hahaha!!! Sad, but true on the part of TWC...I'll say this, on so many instances I've hung up and said many rotten things to the people at TWC, but this woman yesterday was super nice....however, nice doesn't fix the problem. Sooooo, at least "they" are working on the issue to correct it! Hopefully, it gets done before Sunday! That, is going to be a barn-burner for sure!!
  15. I called Time Warner just as the BILLS kicked off yesterday as I noticed it last week too, but obviously the game was on Fox so it didn't matter much to me. TWC told me the same thing, and I got a woman in Buffalo who said they had a message on their "white board" and read it to me, essentially saying the same thing....called them again this morning to see if it will get resolved by Sunday and they said CBS and TWC technicians are working on it, apparently it is limited to the Syracuse market which also includes the Utica / Rome area....wasn't happy, but just reminded me of watching those old BILLS games before High Def...woman on the phone was very nice and understood my frustration as she was a BILLS fan too...knew much of the history and what was transpiring with the team...nice woman but hope CBS / TWC get their sh*t together before next week!
  16. If that's the reason, fair enough....I have no issue with how the game was called on any of the fronts, just wondered why...issue with Red Zone productivity is a concern, but they won and ultimately put points on the board, so for now as the Offense grows and gets better, I can live with it - not that I have any choice - but hope the Red Zone efficiency improves.
  17. How, does a thread like this even get started? I'm as much an EJ doubter as the next guy, a "wait-and-see" type of approach to see if EJ has the season long chops to be their answer at QB, but c'mon man??!!! Really?? EJ has shown some real, demonstrative progress and Eli is starting his decline and you want to trade CJ on top of it?? Man, sometimes this board....woof!
  18. All I can remember is 4-0 and 5-1...that season will haunt me...so until we get half-way through the season and shown we can win consistently, I'm not buying "all-in" just yet...I think this team is really good and have felt that since the Off-Season when I truly believed this team would go as far as their QB play would take them, and so far that's been accurate. Defense has been very good and Special Teams surprisingly has been outstanding with a decent to good Running game...if EJ can continue to be effective and efficient, he doesn't have to be "great" or HOF caliber, then the BILLS can continue to win, but until we have a winning record at the break, I'm just enjoying each week with a win, without getting too far out in front of myself...and much more importantly, neither is the team by the sounds of it..."win and get back to work", "F-the world that doesn't believe in us", type of mentality....and so far, it shows.
  19. Which is interesting regarding his snap count, b/c I thought Spikes was a beast last week and was surprised when I kept looking for his number but didn't see him on the field...this explains why I didn't see him of course, but doesn't explain why he played so little...and just like with Robert Woods not getting a lot of catches, I wouldn't look at Spikes' absence as anything more than a game-plan...IMO of course
  20. Agreed, but I also think the BILLS approach has had something to do with as well. Not just the coaching, but also the approach the FO took with him when they told him, this is probably your last chance to get it right and then surrounding him with good men and professionals to help him come along and develop not only his game, but his maturity....sometimes, for someone struggling with personal issues a change in scenery is a big help and can advance their personal change all the more...all conjecture at this point, and still a long season to go and hopefully many, many more successful seasons for Henderson with the BILLS, but early signs look promising....
  21. I really liked the move when the BILLS took Whaley as their Assistant GM, but have absolutely believed in him as the GM since he was promoted and all of the moves he's made...I certainly did, and to a lesser extent still do, have my reservations about EJ Manuel and much has been debated about whether EJ was DW's decision, or Nix's decision, or a combination of those two, but other than still having some questions about EJ, DW has been incredible for this organization. The moves, and the lack thereof as someone earlier referred to Byrd, has shown he's willing to make the difficult choices...Byrd is a good player, and I'm sure they wish they could have kept him, but good GM's, see Ozzie Newsome and Ted Thompson, know to value *POSITIONS* over players when it comes to doling out the big money...and Safety just isn't a position you over-invest in...LT, QB, MLB, DE and CB are all positions you place the greatest amount of money and value in, with some other key pieces such as Center and WR to some extent as well...but players also have to understand that you can't give everyone all the money they want, which is why football is so fantastic. There is a limit and creativity within that limit to some extent, but it produces parity and DW has done exceptionally well thus far...I hope he can continue the job he's done, b/c like many others I think he is crucial to the future of the BILLS' success.
  22. The Red Zone woes are certainly note worthy....but as others have said, I'm not certain it all lays on Hackett's shoulders. I think the BILLS Offensive unit is still gaining a chemistry component while gaining experience, and as the season goes on, I do think they will actually improve, i.e. Red Zone TDs vs. field goals...EJ is gathering confidence and gaining some chemistry with WRs while the Offensive line is doing the same...so, all in all I take it as they're still growing but the Red Zone may be an issue at some point and certainly needs to be addressed in practice this week, IMHO, as a focus and not just the standard amount of practice and focus...
  23. To be fair to Gragg, his Combine numbers don't really support the conclusion of "clunky", IMO...here's the link, but he ran a 4.46 40, pretty fast for a big WR, and actually all of his Combine numbers were pretty good.... http://www.nfldraftscout.com/ratings/dsprofile.php?pyid=82780&draftyear=2013&genpos=TE as an FYI, Jimmy Graham's Combine 40 time was 4.53, here's the link to his numbers...yes, he's two inches taller, just reflecting time: http://www.nfldraftscout.com/ratings/dsprofile.php?pyid=103531&draftyear=2010&genpos=TE IMHO, I think Gragg will emerge as a pretty good TE in the NFL, remember even Graham took a couple years along with Julius Thomas and many others...rarely does a TE come in and have a phenomenal year in the first year or even two...some of the best current TEs took 2 full seasons before their break-out 3rd year, it's one reason why I'm so against using a 1st Round pick on a TE...history tells us that great TEs are usually Drafted in the 3rd and 4th round, much like Graham and Thomas....I beat this subject to death leading up to the Draft so I won't do it again, but a Google search tells us all we need to know about history and TE production against the Draft....
  24. I think he's just pissed because it means he has to continue covering the team
  25. And along the same lines for me: beautiful throw by EJ, right in the basket over the shoulder...in good coverage. Nicely done...
