  1. I get that Nix must've really liked Troup and I can live with them selecting him and passing on Cody, but from where Troup was graded, he was most likely going to be available in the 3rd round or maybe even 4th. The Bills could've gotten great value at need positions with Clausen or Charles Brown and still get Troup in the next round. I suppose the Bills must've been very down on those guys, or just desperately wanted Troup. For now I'll just have to assume the Bills know what they're doing.
  2. He better start eating (and growing). Cody is the closest thing in a long time to Ted Washington. He is the potential Ted Washington 2.0. I'm not saying Troup can't turn out to be better than Cody, but Troup is not the guy that fits the Ted Washington physical mold.
  3. I'd rather have Brown at left tackle and Troup/Cam Thomas at nose tackle in round three.
  4. They didn't school all 31 other teams. Just the teams that drafted a NT other than Cody this round.
  5. My guess is Charles Brown. Brown, Saffold, Cody, or Clausen would be nice. One of them should be available (Although Clausen probably won't be there at 41). I like the Spiller pick and I know Nix says they are going by BPA on their board, but I'd be a bit shocked if they didn't go big this round.
  6. If I had a dollar for every time someone on this board spells Brian BULAGA's name as Baluga...
  7. The two NT projected for round 1 are still available. Bulaga and Saffold are still available. Clausen is still dropping. Someone good at our need positions may drop to our round 2 pick or far enough to trade up.
  8. It looks like we have no choice but to move Lynch now. Knowing that, other teams will not need to give up much in return for him. I don't like selling Lynch at his lowest value possible (He's so young and I still think he will be a good rb), but in Spiller we got the best player available and a guy that should be a dynamic playmaker. Our next pick better be an OT or NT. No Tebow. Not two straight skill positions.
  9. It depends on who is still on the board. I would hope we'd have better options as far as players available or trade options.
  10. Okay so the compensation to move down will be less, and the cost to move up will be less. Your first post said the compensation to move up and down was less, which didn't make sense. Thanks for clearing it up.
  11. Okay so trades moving down or up will receive less compensation than normal. In any given draft pick trade, one team is moving up and one team is moving down. How is it that both teams are being compensated less than normal?
  12. Bold prediction. You put yourself out of the running before you even made your selection.
  13. If we're passing over both Clausen and Morgan for him then , and Tebow just plain
  14. Yes, but Mr. Wonderful seemed to be implying that McShay's mock drafts should be disregarded because McShay is bad at measuring talent. What McShay thinks a team SHOULD do does not affect the contents of his mock draft predicting what he thinks the team WILL do.
  15. Mock drafts show who an analyst thinks teams will draft not who he thinks teams should draft.
  16. Santonio Holmes was expendable because he is a WR and on the final year of his contract (under which he was criminally underpaid). He will be looking for a huge pay day from some team next year. In his rookie season, Mike Wallace proved last year his big play capability and should fill in nicely for Holmes. Ben Roethlisberger is a QB and is under contract for the foreseeable future. They have no one on their roster that could possibly replace him. They would require a star QB in return, or at the very least the number one draft pick for Bradford plus more picks. Buffalo has neither of those as trading pieces.
  17. I'm looking forward to the draft too but man you sure are excited about it indeed. You're excited enough to create two alike threads about your excitement in less than 24 hours. http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/index.php?showtopic=111831
  18. No matter how bad our WR corps might be, I wouldn't want a WR as a top 10 pick unless he's a huge athletic freak along the physical mold of Calvin Johnson, Andre Johnson, Brandon Marshall etc.
  19. I share your opinion of Bulaga and would also like to trade down for Cody, but I just don't think we'll find a trade partner. Some team wanting Spiller seems like the only outside chance at a trade down scenario. The general consensus is that this draft class is deep, but not top-heavy in terms of talent. The best value will be in the bottom half of round one, and then continue into round two (as is often the case). The Bills will just have to stick at nine and select the best player available at a need position. It could very well be Dan Williams. If I had to guess, Derrick Morgan would be the other possibility. OLB isn't as big a need as NT, but I believe Morgan to be the better player and best player that will be available besides Spiller.
  20. tl;dr. I got the gist of it from skimming. Hopefully you feel a little better after letting loose this diatribe.
  21. For you to believe Nevergiveup's posts are a smokescreen, you must believe that 1.) Nevergiveup is someone involved in player personnel decisions for the Buffalo Bills and 2.) Other NFL GM's actually read this Bills fan forum and also believe him to be a credible source of information on player personnel decisions for the Buffalo Bills. Otherwise, what would be the point of creating this so called "smokescreen"? You can believe he knows people in the Bills organization and is reporting what he hears or you can believe he is just making up bullcrap, but it's not some smokescreen designed to fool other NFL franchises.
  22. Don't say that! Now it obviously won't happen because you thought it would!
  23. 3-4 DE isn't a high priority. We have Edwards, and then out of Stroud, Williams, Johnson, and McCargo, at least two or three of them should be able to transition to the position. It's also not a very high impact position. Quarterback should be much higher.
