  1. It's funny how the thread creator (and/or Mort) misinterpreted Revis' comment as a compliment to Lee Evans, when it was actually a bit of a slight. People will hear whatever they want to hear.
  2. I agree on Gaither but not as much on Campbell. Unfortunately, a 4th wouldn't be enough for Campbell and I don't think the Ravens actually want to trade their starting LT for a 2nd.
  3. If I remember correctly, he said Bradford is the only quarterback the Bills deem worthy of a first round pick and CJ Spiller is a possibility at our #9 pick.
  4. No player on the Bills roster is worth half what it would take to get that done. I'm not even exaggerating. It would take a player worth the equivalent of the #11 overall selection (which Lynch wasn't even worth back when we drafted him near there in 2007) plus our #9 selection to make that trade. Look at the draft pick value chart before suggesting trades of picks for players.
  5. Donahoe drafted more impact players for this team than Levy. They both had an unhealthy obsession with undersized lineman and undersized skill players while disregarding the offensive line, but at least Donahoe nailed a few picks. It's really sad to say, but the Levy/Jauron era set us back farther than Donahoe did.
  6. I wouldn't trade next year's first round draft pick for anything. That's our Jake Locker ticket.
  7. I think he's capable, Cavedawg, but I don't see Schobel sticking around throughout all of our apparent 2+ year rebuilding process.
  8. Apparently the competition committee is worried about the player safety risk in the regular season from the one extra possession in the very few games that go to overtime. They may finally choose to use the same rule for the regular season, but that is yet to be determined. If anything, they should implement it right away in the preseason to see if this system works and fix any problems that surface. The new rule is a step up from the old, but it still changes the way the game is meant to be played. If, for instance, the first team with possession scores a field goal, then the other team essentially has four downs knowing they must score or the game is over. Even the new rule affects coaching strategy. Just make an eight minute overtime period and play actual football...
  9. Selecting Donte at #8 was a bad decision, but he's not a bad player. He's our best player at strong safety and will be our starter. Deal with it.
  10. The case of Drew Brees is completely different than the cases of Maybin, Hardy, and our other "busts". Drew Brees was pro-bowler with Chargers and had put together consecutive 89+ passer ratings before injuring his shoulder. What was in question was his ability to recover from the injury, not his talent. Brees had already proven to be a pro-bowl quarterback, whereas Maybin, Hardy, Ellis, etc. have done absolutely nothing to show they can be any good on the NFL level. What, specifically, have you seen/heard/imagined that would make you believe they will suddenly become good players by simply "letting them play"? What hidden talents have you discovered in them that no one else is able to? The sample size has been small and it's possible some of them turn out to be decent players, but to expect sudden turnarounds with no evidence to make you believe they will, is utter foolishness.
  11. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=nfp-...p&type=lgns He's visiting tonight and having a physical tomorrow. Davis could be a Bill by tomorrow. Nice.
  12. Thank you. Sadly, some people you just aren't going to be able to convince with logic.
  13. Holmgren must've been really really really down on both Quinn and Anderson to pin his hopes on Delhomme and Wallace.
  14. Neither was Okoye. I guess he meant he was just hoping Willis and Okoye fell to Buffalo and was selected. Those were the two guys I wanted as well. I didn't think any running back besides AP was worth drafting high. Back on topic, the guy I don't want would be Tebow (anywhere before round four).
  15. I'm not so sure trading down is the best solution for this team. The team has urgent needs at LT, RT, and NT because there is no one currently on the roster that can play those positions at a competent NFL level. Two out of our first three picks should be at those positions. In upcoming drafts, however, I'd advocate a best player available drafting philosophy rather than trading down. This team needs talent. The Bills best player of the past decade is soon to retire. There are no stars on this team. Even the Rams have an elite player at one position. The Bills have drafted decently after the first round, but what has that gotten us? Plenty of decent players. Almost every first round selection in the past ten years has been a flop. They simply need to start hitting on their first rounders, where the top flight talent should be. That's why, after this years draft, I'd prefer they draft the best player available regardless of position (within reason).
  16. I think (almost) all of us already understand that. The question dailar asked about tackle prospects outside of the first round is still valid. We might go NT in round one and only the top five LT prospects are known by the majority of fans.
  17. Even if there is no football in 2011, there will still be a draft that year based on the records from 2010. I'm not sure how the draft order is decided for the year following that (2012).
  18. That's obviously not the direction I expected you to go with this thread and I laughed. Bravo.
  19. I don't think Dan Williams is as big a reach as you indicate. He won't get past Miami at #12. If three offensive tackles are selected before #9, Dan Williams may be our pick. But I agree that the most likely selection is an offensive tackle. It depends on how Nix has the third, fourth, and fifth offensive tackles on the board rated because I'm sure at least two of them will be taken before we get our choice.
  20. Indianapolis, San Diego, and Philadelphia all had pass-happy gameplans. The rest of those teams you listed are a who's who of the worst offensive lines in the NFL. Seattle, Cleveland, and KC all have talented young running backs that put up huge numbers when given the playing time. Justin Forsett, Jerome Harrison, and Jamal Charles were drafted in the 7th, 5th, and 3rd rounds, respectively. Those teams' lack of a running game stem from offensive line deficiency or gameplan unbalance, not an inability to find a good running back. There are a few exceptions but for the most part running backs are indeed a dime a dozen and have short lifespans.
  21. He's a very inaccurate passer. Even in his pro bowl season, he threw 19 interceptions and completed only 56.5% of his passes. The Browns really bungled their quarterback situation last year. They had drafted Quinn to be his replacement, and probably could've gotten a 2nd or 3rd rounder for Anderson before his dreadful 2009 performance.
  22. It's more than Butler was making. Who signs a 34 year old player to starting money in a three year deal just for depth?
