  1. We should take Chris Kelsay seriously, too. He's averaging more tackles per game this season than Bruce Smith did his entire career!
  2. http://weblogs.baltimoresun.com/sports/ravens/blog/2010/10/report_ravens_could_be_interested_in_merriman.html According to Peter King, the Ravens have expressed interest in acquiring Merriman. It's not like no one would take him if we don't. The article lists where Merriman would prefer his landing spot to be. I bet he'd be upset if Buffalo claims him. The Bills wouldn't be able to retain him past this season unless they're the only team willing to risk signing him long term. At least the Bills would have the opportunity to evaluate him the rest of the season and decide if he's worth re-signing. All it would cost is a portion of his $3.269 million contract this season. For a team so far under the salary cap and in desperate desperate need of athletic linebackers that can rush the passer, it's really not a very high price to pay to try him out.
  3. That's what I was wondering as soon as I read that Cord Howard would be our starting RT. It would be nice if someone from this draft class would show some promise or at least get more than token playing time.
  4. Good point. That loss was truly devastating. By now we've become desensitized to it at least. The loss this week, while pathetic, has just been par for the course.
  5. I was hoping for Garrard to have another horrible game against the Colts so we could play against Trent this week. It would've made the game interesting at least.
  6. What actions do you suggest they take right NOW? Here's their options. a.) Continue trading away the best players on the team for mid round draft picks. b.) Just start cutting guys that have underperformed. If they do a or b then they would have to do c. c.) Sign a bunch of guys off other people's practice squads. Would any of these be even marginally helpful? What they need to do is not fail on next year's draft.
  7. Are we creating short rhymes for dead weight we want cut next? Cornell Green, never to be seen ....again in a Buffalo Bills uniform.
  8. The value of running backs has gone down drastically since then. I'd rather have Marshawn instead of Fred be our starter for the next 3+ years but Fred wouldn't have any trade value. They had to extend Lynch or trade him. He's better than a fourth round pick but that's all they were going to get for him at this point.
  9. He's our best player on defense (maybe not saying a whole lot, but still) even though he's playing out of position. I was initially upset with Kyle Williams and Chris Kelsay's contract extensions a few years ago. I'm glad at least one of them changed my mind.
  10. I completely agree but this is just for fun.
  11. 1. QB 2. LT 3. OLB 3. RT 4. C 5. NT 6. TE 7. WR 8. ILB/OLB I know there aren't eight rounds but we need help at almost every position. This is just how I'd rank them.
  12. Wide right was the most heart-wrenching but this day was the beginning of the organization's downfall.

  14. If only the NFL ordered the draft positions by how ugly a team looks when they play or how bad a teams roster is, we would've drafted third or fourth rather than ninth last year.
  15. Our front office guys worked hard to make a trade work...it's a good group of guys....they work hard.
  16. Those were complementary players to a team already loaded with hall of fame players. You're not going to find a Jim Kelly, Thurman Thomas, or Bruce Smith in free agency (unless they're on the last gasp of their career). You're especially not going to get those types of players to come to Buffalo with the current view of the city and franchise. Once you have elite players to build around, then you can acquire quality complementary players in free agency. As of now, we have no elite players to build around yet.
  17. Well I'm not among those that call Spiller a bust. It goes both ways. There are posters that are reactionary in their hatred of current Bills, former Bills, and players they wanted the Bills to draft. You're still contributing to that epidemic with the topic.
  18. It's yet to be determined how good or bad he will be. If someone made a similar post after he had a 300 yard 3 TD day, I'd react the same way. But it's quite clear what you were attempting to do with the topic: rub his first NFL start in the face of anyone who wanted the Bills to draft Clausen. People do the same thing with Jason Peters anytime he gets a false start penalty. Pretty much.
  19. Not at all. We've seen a year of Fitz, three years of Trent and three years of JP.
  20. Geez. You're really going to judge him off his first start in the NFL? And some people got mad when the Bills got hated on after one game...
  21. I think this is accurate. However, if management can't find a long-term option out of the quarterbacks of next years draft class, they're a lost cause.
  22. Here's a voice of reason and moderation. Byrd can be a good starter and he is better than Wilson. I'm satisfied with him as our free safety for future seasons. He does need to improve some things such as tackling. But I agree with Freester that he gets overrated by Bills fans. The fans simply cling to him because he's the only draft pick from the past 5 years that has produced...AT ALL (besides Lynch but he gets hated on instead). It's the sorry lack of overall talent and numerous draft busts that makes Byrd stand out among the bunch.
