  1. and by tomorrow, someone else will create another new thread on this topic again. These same topics have been repeated over and over again: "I love/hate Tebow", "I want/don't want McNabb", "3-4 or 4-3", "OL or QB first", "Chan Gailey hires weak staff", "I hate Ralph Wilson". TBD will be filled with these same discussions pretty much until draft day.
  2. Nah. I don't get worked up when someone in the NFL or among the media say Buffalo is cold. It's not Gregg Williams fault we don't have Brees. If it was up to him and not Donahoe, Brees would be in Buffalo to this day. I'm still going to root for New Orleans.
  3. Doesn't his contract run out after next season? I don't see the Bills turning it around that quickly, which means it would be difficult to convince him to re-sign. If it's only for one season then it's not worth it.
  4. I'm expecting all of Gailey's staff to be guys he has worked with in the past that would not be otherwise hired for the position. By now it's too late to get any of the highly sought after coordinators. The other possibility is that he's waiting for the super bowl to end and will hire some of the Colts or Saints staff, but I'm not counting on it.
  5. The only quarterback on that list that won't be a restricted free agent is Chad Pennington and his super weak arm. The rest will be restricted in an uncapped 2010 season.
  6. Three out of four of those teams had good offensive lines and dominating defenses in place. We do not. 6-10 isn't hard to top, but this one draft isn't putting us in the playoffs. Determining which position to select based only on what helps us immediately would be shortsighted. We're not going to be a good team immediately based on one draft pick. Also, look at what's available in free agency this uncapped season. The UFA list is very slim. The long term answer at quarterback will not be found through free agency this season.
  7. And yet they still played Manning multiple series in both games. He also played the entire game against the Jaguars despite clinching home field advantage throughout the playoffs the previous week.
  8. Whether you think a quarterback or offensive line is more important does not matter. It takes a few years to build a good offensive line and have them develop chemistry, and it takes a few years to develop a quarterback. This team is in a rebuilding process. Whoever we draft at #9 this year isn't going to make us an instant winner next season. We need to draft the best player available at either quarterback or left tackle. The Bills are deficient at offensive line and quarterback, and it's going to take multiple drafts to find the right players to fix them both.
  9. Yeah I used to date one, too. I think I offended her mom by under-eating .
  10. Yes, I registered on this message board the instant I started watching football. I'll ignore the fact that your registration date precedes mine by a whole two months because it's irrelevant. What I'm questioning is, in your mind, what his Polish descent and manners have to do with his football ability or whatever the point of your post was supposed to be.
  11. Yes. Here's where the Pats ranked in scoring defense the years (2006-2009) Pees was their DC: 2nd, 4th, 8th, 5th.
  12. Unfortunately, he's been hired by the Ravens as a linebackers coach.
  13. From the wikipedia link - "He primarily runs a 4-3 scheme, using fast, undersized linebackers" He just lost 90% of the Bills fans that read that sentence.
  14. One could argue that they put just as much pressure on themselves to prove their actions right. Nothing short of a super bowl victory would do so.
  15. He probably didn't expect any team would hire him as a head coach this season.
  16. Yes the stuffs statistic was impressive, compared to Harris, considering the lack of blitzing in the Bills scheme.
  17. The tackles statistic in particular is overrated due to the reasons UB2SF just pointed out. Hell, Keith Ellison was among the league leaders in tackles before his injury, and we all know his shortcomings.
  18. Out of the UFA on that list, the only guy I'd trust to be a starting LT is Clifton but his price tag would be steep. They should get some depth in free agency to compete with Butler for the RT position but we need to find a starting LT in the draft (first round or maybe second round if we feel lucky).
  19. I hate to use this again, but it obviously hasn't gotten through. His defense held the NFL's most prolific offense to 257 total yards. But obviously you know better how to coordinate a defense and your gameplan would've done even better. I remember your threads praising Fraizier, but suddenly Frazier's scheme sucks and he has no brain. You've flip flopped from blind love of Frazier to blind hate. Any outcome of the Vikings performances would be used to prove your point.
  20. You're correct. There is no right answer. Resting the players or playing them does not guarantee a super bowl championship. Both methods have worked. Therefore, they could've easily had both the record and the super bowl while losing nothing. The inevitable Wes Welker argument becomes moot when you notice how early in the game that injury occurred. He played less time in that game than Peyton Manning played in Buffalo through a snowstorm no less. There was a better chance of Manning getting injured than Welker. If you're going to rest the players, rest the players. Why bother play Manning at all? The answer is that they do care about records, but selectively. They made sure to continue Manning's start streak, and marched Wayne and Clark onto a slick, snowy field until they got their 100th receptions. Polian spoke with pride about their record of most wins in the decade. For no apparent reason they've decided the decade wins record matters, 100 receptions matters, Manning's streak matters, yet a perfect season does not matter. Whether they win a super bowl this season or not, it will not be because they did or did not rest their starters (with a bye week already in place to rest) and will not change my opinion they mismanaged their chance at history.
  21. Yup. Disregard the fact that his defense held the NFL's most prolific offense to 257 yards of total offense. He must've told his team to fumble the ball six times, too.
  22. He would've had a good supporting cast on offense as silvermike said. There was a fair coach in place in Wade Phillips. We had a dominating defense in the late 90s that would not have been blown up if we were a winning team with a stable quarterback. Don't confuse the late 90s Bills with the 2009 Bills.
  23. Typical, predictable post. Expect most others to reveal the same sentiment.
  24. Fewell's decision week 15 to re-bench Fitz in favor of Trent, the QB that was initially benched, speaks louder volumes. Coaches don't go back to the QB they deemed unfit to play the position unless injury forces them to or the guy they replaced him with proves he's even worse.
