  1. I am still trying to come up to speed on this year's prospects, but I am not seeing a lot at LB right now that would lead me to pick one over one of the DL. I don't think you can take Jaylon Smith in round one due to his serious injury, Myles Jack will be long-gone, not sold on Darren Lee with his undersized frame in this D and Reggie Ragland is good but has his limitations in pass coverage. Of those, I think Ragland may be the beast fit for this D, but I am not sure that he is a real impact guy. I am just not sure where Darren Lee would play in our defense and I worry that he would be exploited in the run game - something that will already be suffering without Mario Williams.
  2. I'd just like to point out that EJ Manuel's college completion % was significantly higher (I think 10 percentage points) than Conner Cook's or Hackenberg's. In fact, Manuel's NFL completion % is higher than Cook's and Hackenberg's college completion %. I know that isn't the whole story, but I would not want to pass up a much higher rated DL for either of those guys. I don't know enough about Lynch to say, but from what I've read he has a long way to go. If just smarts and want-to are all it takes to succeed at QB in the NFL, then EJ Manuel would be very good. By all accounts, he is smart and works very hard. He clearly has all the necessary physical talent.
  3. I generally agree with this point. I hope that they play into the draft's reported strength and load up on defensive talent in the first 3 rounds unless a starting caliber RT is available. EJ Manuel has played very poorly at times, but at other times competently - sometimes even in the same game. After his meltdown against J'vlle, he did have them ahead in the final minutes - the D couldn't hold the lead. I am not saying that I think Manuel is going to miraculously become good, but I think he still has as much or more talent than the guys in this draft beyond Wentz and Goff. Spending a 2nd or 3rd round pick on a QB who is just as inexperienced and likely to make similar mistakes instead of spending it on a defender who could be a major contributor would be a mistake in my opinion.
  4. I would have thought that Gronkowski would have been a bench press hero. I thought he would be near the leaders in that.
  5. I like Mario Williams and I think that Rex's scheme marginalized his talent. That being said, I would let him go if it meant re-signing Cordy Glenn. Glenn performed well under this coaching regime and his 2015 performance would be more difficult to replace than Mario William's 2015 performance - whether or not William's performance was inhibited by Ryan's scheme.
  6. My recollection (possibly faulty) is that Clay was injured/played injured for much of the year. This was compounded by having a 1st year starting QB who was #2 or #3 on the QB depth chart through training camp and pre-season. Sure, it took Tyrod Taylor some time to acclimate himself with the starting WRs and TE. Also, clearly, the Bills' offense was built based on the run game first and foremost. So, to claim that Clay had a subpar year with all of these ancillary problems, is a bit questionable. That does not even consider that by the last fourth of the season that the Bills had a hobbled Watkins and a 4th string WR starting opposite him with several games where the 3rd/4th string RB were playing a big role. Big picture, I was very happy with the Bills' offenses' performance this year. If the defense had lived up to their potential and the special teams had not sh*t the bed, the offense was good enough to sneak into the playoffs.
  7. I think folks are way too down on Robert Woods. I think when he is healthy he can be a good starting WR. Do some teams have better #2 WRs and could the Bills benefit from having a bigger WR target? Sure, but I see DE, LB and RT as bigger needs for this team.
  8. Good call on Sam Cowart. He was tremendous before he got hurt. I haven't read the whole thread yet, but I will add WR Jerry Butler as underrated. I think he might have become the best WR in team history had he not gotten injured. Back in those days, guys didn't often come back from injuries the way that they can today.
  9. I disagree - I will bet that even for just the first 32 picks that there are at least 25 (out of 32) teams that have unique lists. To be sure, that early in the draft there would be significant overlap, but I'd bet that among the first 32 on each team's draft board that there are 40-45 players represented.
  10. How come no time ran off the clock when NE ran the 2 point try? There were 12 seconds when the play started and still 12 seconds when the play ended. By my rough count, that play took about 10 seconds. There should have only been 2 seconds left when NE tried their on-side kick. I can't believe that nobody on Denver's staff noticed that.
  11. Boy, I remember a lot of people here saying that Von Miller was going to be Aaron Maybin the second. Come on now, man up and admit it if you were among those!
  12. Boy, I think that Woods is much better than just a guy "to push more talented youngsters". I agree - Woods is good! I think he is better than Josh Reed was
  13. Bobby Douglas Bears. He was as tough as nails.
  14. How is Mularkey worse than Rex and his twin?
  15. Just another extremely talented athlete throwing it away because he can't put in the effort that lots of 50 year olds do to stay in shape. Only difference is that he could make MILLIONS by putting in the same effort that my neighbors, co-workers and I do - we just don't have the inherited skills and genetics...
  16. Joe D is a very good OL coach. I think that the Bills OL improved noticeably once Aaron Kromer returned from his suspension, so I would not change him out. However, don't think D'Alessandris will be without a job very long.
  17. So, are people complaint that the coaches and QB don't utilize Watkins enough or arguing that Watkins isn't good. If it is the former, you have to realize that: 1. QB is a first year starter 2. Offense is intended to run the ball more than pass it 3. Injuries to other WRs have cause defenses to add even more focus on Watkins 4. Watkins played injured early in the year IIRC 5. Depleted backfield made offense 1 dimensional for many games and army (allowing more focus on Watkins by defense)
  18. Without Aaron Rodgers, the Packer's talent level is pretty pedestrian. Before him, having Favre masked a lot of roster weaknesses. Now, if you can say for sure that he can trade for the next Favre or luck into another Aaron Rodgers in the middle of round one, then I'd be very interested.
  19. This defense is such crap. How do you give up a first down on 3rd and 19 to a team playing their 4th QB of the season and without their top WR? Ryan deserves to be fired for that alone - and there are a LOT more reasons to fire him.
  20. Well, yes. They had 40+ seconds and two TOs and a first down was possible on about the 3. If they hadn't frittered away 20+ seconds before running a play they could have gotten off at least 3, maybe 4 plays in 40 seconds
  21. Buffalo Bills - inventing new ways to lose for 16 consecutive years.
  22. Dallas will start Kellen Moore this week against the Bills. Expect our defense to make him look like a future Hall of Famer in his first ever NFL start.
  23. Agreed, Taylor may not be great, but he isn't responsible for the defense coming up short in every important situation. I thought the defense and special teams would be playoff caliber and that they would just need to get something from the offense to make the playoffs. I could not have been more wrong.
  24. There will be a 60% drop in season ticket sales if they do not fire Ryan and his entire bullsh*t staff.
