  1. You though that he played pretty well in 2013? He averaged 200 yards/game and threw 11 TDs vs 9 INTs - Very very close to EJ Manuel's rookie stats where he played with only 1 WR that had ever caught an NFL pass going into the season. In Cassel's 4 years since his miracle 2010 season in KC, he has put up the following over 30 games: Year Yards/Attempt Yds/Game TD Int Rate 2014 6.0 142 3 4 66 2013 7.1 201 11 9 81.6 2012 6.5 200 6 12 67 2011 6.4 190 10 9 77 Over those 30 games, he 30 TDs and 34 INTs - that's a good-sized and most-recent sample and it isn't very good. Heck, I'd say EJ Manuel's stats over his first 14 games are at least as good. I didn't post this to say that Manuel is the answer, but if Cassel is still being thought of as a possible answer 10 years into his career, then Manuel certainly ought to get at least this year before he is written off.
  2. Car dale Jones may not even be a starter at Ohio State. Let's not get ahead of ourselves here...
  3. Wait, you are saying that a QB can improve with experience? According to many here that isn't possible. Smith started 2x as many games as Manuel has before he showed some improvement. I think it would be wise to have a little patience with EJ (applies to ANY young QB). What would be worse than Manuel not panning out? I'd say giving up on him too soon would be worse.
  4. Ugh - iI WANT Bills talk on the radio, but they are almost always unlistenable.
  5. Ourlad's said: "tone setter type back","tackle to taclkle banger", "can break tackles and fall forward for positive yards", "can take and give punishment. A non-fumbler who can catch the ball. ", "a classic downhill one cut runner"He is 6'3/4" 230lbs and ran 4.48
  6. Man, it's the 5th round. You are looking for athletes with some good traits. Give the front office some credit, they have found some good players later in the draft Would they have played Bennett at DE? He would be pretty undersized as a NT
  7. And if we get a player as good as Thomas Smith in round 2, I think we should be happy.
  8. They mentioned that he has a knee issue where it is "bone on bone". The supposition is that he will be OK until his knee wears out.
  9. I think that they are also concerned that he played poorly against top competition at the Senior Bowl. Maybe that was just his inexperience on the OL (former DL) or maybe he was exposed as being just not that good. I am certain that if any team thought that he was a "first round talent" that he would have been taken by the end of round 3 for sure even if they knew that they would have to wait for him to get healthy.
  10. And that's why Clemmings hasn't been picked yet by any of the 32 teams, right?
  11. Sullivan doesn't even like himself. There isn't enough alcohol or drugs in the world to make Jerry entertaining
  12. So Mayock had him rated lower? Why do teams even employ scouts when they could just go by Mayok's ratings? Ourlad's (run by some former NFL scouts) had Darby rated 47th in the draft. There ARE other opinions.
  13. For all the hate, I think Rex knows CBs...
  14. Why a QB that will never start in the NFL?
  15. Has Eli Harold been picked yet? He'd be a nice pick for Bills
  16. I'd rather have D or OG. Not a big Fisher fan based only on what I've read.
  17. With just 6 picks before Bills, maybe there WILL be be an OT left. Jake Fisher and TJ Clemmings still there.
  18. If I was a Carolina fan, I wouldn't like the Funchess pick.
  19. Could be great or could be suspended before training camp opens
  20. Was hoping Preston Smith might be available for the Bills, guess not.
  21. Doesn't look like any OTs will last till Bills' pick... Maybe RBs are back in style with 3 gone already.
  22. Bit of a surprise Yeldon went before some other RBs.- that's 3 RBs already. Maybe RBs are back in style?
  23. Doesn't look like there will be any OTs left by Bills' pick this round...
  24. Trade up to where? Petty shouldn't go before the 3rd or 4th round IMHO
  25. +1. Nix laid the foundation by starting to build the defense and stabilizing the OL w Cordy Glenn in round 2.
