I don't think that's crazy at all. I expect Charles to have trouble finding running lanes and don't expect Smith to be up to the challenge of carrying the team in the face of our pass rush. Unless our offense lays an egg I could easily see another lopsided victory.

Don't count out the Raiders. They have a realistic shot at 0-16 this year.

It's funny. I'm not even impressed with Hackett but I feel compelled to defend him against the hyperbolic attacks. I don't like running for a yard or 2 on almost every 1st down either, but that's what the Chargers did the other night, & I'd wager most of the anti-Hackett mob would seed their shorts if we got Reich. To use championships as the measuring stick for individual performance in the ultimate team sport that fields at least 24 starters defies all logic and is about as lazy as analysis gets. The guy basically asked if, with the benefit of hindsight, and if the Colts were willing, would you think it was worth it to trade 4 firsts and a 2nd for Luck at the time (just like the Foreskins traded 3 firsts and change for RGMe, which in hindsight most would say wasn't worth it. I'm not saying he was an objectively GREAT QB. I am saying he was an objectively GOOD QB who was a great fit for that team. Great defense or not, you need to at least have a good QB to win consistently in the NFL.

Normally I'd agree, but when you hold all other variables constant, save for QB, and you have vastly different results over a significant period of time, it's fair to conclude that the variable made a difference.

The guy who lived in my house before me died of a heart attack while painting the den. My neighbor tells me he liked whiskey.
