I agree there are not likely 4 franchise guys, but the example he used was that great class. He clearly wasn’t saying get a Tyrod type. Also agree that if one stands alone- let’s go get him (even if unlikely, try)

Im not sure how you can tell a guy what he means to say. Especially when he uses an example of several guys that are better than Tyrod. ignoring that - it’s a basic draft principal if targeting needs. You group guys into tiers and get the last guy in the tier that’s on the board before the cliff and next ledge. Taking the first guy in the tier - worst value. Taking the last - best value. as with any pick, you have to generally have your evaluations right for the premise to hold.

While you get there’s a bigger picture, you are neglecting that Darby is dirt cheap for multiple years which helps his value quite a bit.

You don’t need to be charged — it may end up on zay to prove why he shouldn’t see some punishment for being arrested naked, while vandalizing and disturbing the peace. Wont be serious but won’t be shocked by a game

He also only had 4 tds, and had 4 turnovers. He had had a pretty good Game vs the jags but was pretty meh otherwise. He had a couple games after that were better than any pre-hit. I think theres a fundamental flaw in the sampling being small pre hit that year and him simply being a mediocre qb that occasionally would have decent days.

I’d venture his drops are a much bigger issue than this going forward

Without knowing any substantive history there’s a pretty good shot that he’s just a regular ol schmuck that tried something that didn’t agree with him. Unless we know a history of a guy being off i tend to assume he just got offered a little fun and figured “meh what’s the worst that could happen...” And, well, zay, your butt is on TMZ screaming bout Jesus. So let’s do better weighing possible outcomes next time. if he does have true demons I obviously wish him the best still. Just not a lot of evidence of that yet,

He was 10-20 for 97 yards and an interception Even his 4 td game in his first year he was 11-23 for 165 yards he was objectively not good that year. If you extrapolate out his stats he would’ve been sub 3000 yards with like 12 tds and 14 ints with a robust 56% and 6.1 ypa for efficiency stats

I think declaring either of our guys second tier is pretty optimistic at this point.

The concussion was major - didn’t he also have an issue with a football related injury where he could’ve had major (life threatening?) side effects? I can’t blame him for being timid. thing was he was never THAT good of a qb for us. Decent, especially as a mid round pick. But even in that concussion season he only had one game over 65% before the hit, and hadn’t thrown for 2 tds in a game yet that season. Through 4 games he had 4 tds and 4 turnovers. The year prior he started 9 games and finished with 7 tds and 8 picks. 4 of those 7 tds in a single game. And overall sub-60% completions. People act like he was a hall of famer in the making but I think he was just a marginal talent that the league caught up to (sure maybe he was a bit more timid after the hit- but I think the downward trend would’ve come regardless)
