  1. Same ole Poz. Surprised we didn't here more about this procedure prior. I don't think he sat out any OTA's or minicamp.
  2. I think he is going through Michael Strahan, Brett Farve syndrome....he just does not feel like going through OTA's and training camp. As you get older it just doesn't get easier. I think he will be back shortly before the preseason games start.
  3. Kind of like what Paul Harvey use to say...now we know the rest of the story. Condolences to the Cowher family.
  4. +1 I use to live around the corner from the rockpile during the Cookie Gilchrist days and could hear the crowd cheering. When I asked what the cheering was for, everyone said it was the Bills game. I asked my father to take me to a Bills game and thats all it took. I signed on for life. Not sure I chose the Bills or if they chose me.
  5. Nothing wrong with the HOF speech ...nothing immature about it. You are just hating.
  6. I'm very familiar with Herndon, use to work there. Haven't been to Jimmy's although I have heard of it. Where exactly is it? Is it around Dulles access? I go to the Skin's and Wizards games quite frequently. Thank goodness for the NFL package where I can check out the Bills.
  7. Born in Pittsburgh Moved to Buffalo in 1960 at the age of 3 Graduated Sweet Home High 1975. College in Washington DC graduated 79' and have remained in the DC and VA area. Many Bills fans in the area. DC area is a solid sports area. VA is not very sports minded...the further into VA you go, the more Nascar becomes the national sport. The only time I can get a decent pizza is when I come back to visit Buffalo.
  8. I think your assessment is open to questions. Lets face it our entire defense is open to questions because we are going to a new system. Many people will be playing out of position. Look at our line Kyle Wms good motor but is he a 3-4 NT ??? Will Troup be able tro contribute much as a rookie ??? Stroud has the size for DE but how will he adjust to different position ??? Edwards is solid but what will Carrington bring to the table ??? Our OLB's who is going to start ??? Kelsey, Maybin, Torbor, Ellis..this maybe down right scary ?????? ILB's Davis is familiar with the 3-4 he is solid against the run but his weakness is pass coverage..not a top LB at this point. Poz is not a proven good LB yet, in fact at the end of last season I was all for moving Poz to the outside because he tends to get manhandled on the inside. Huge questions for our LB's. Davis, Edwards, Troup, Carrington are good pickups and makes us bigger and stronger on paper. Hopefully preseason will answer many questions.
  9. He would get a C-. Over the past 3 years he has been very average in the passing game. I give him average because he showed signs of getting better the second half of the season but he still leaves the middle extremely vulnerable. You said we still haven't seen what he can do against the run??? What do you think he has been doing the last 3 years? There is usually a 3 year learning curve for QB's and WR's.. not LB's. A LB should be flourishing after 3 years. Your making excuses. All LB's have to shed blocks..Poz doesn't. No line is going to be able to keep the LB clean all of the time. But when he does make the hit on the runner, the runner usually gets more yardage after the hit....can we blame this on the DL as well? I would like to see Poz have a break out season this year but something tells me it will be business as usual. I honestly thought he would be better on the outside. Most good LB's bloom quicker than the 5 year plan that Poz seems to be on. The list provided is a good example. He plays like a 4th or 5th rounder.
  10. This is because the team was small going up against bigger and stronger teams. This coupled with questionable conditioning leads to 4th quarter collapses. That is why when Chan came on board he said the team needs to be bigger and stronger. No team can consistantly go up against bigger and stronger team without getting their butts kicked. It seems that Jauron couldn't figure that one out.
  11. I would like to see any one that can be a consistant winner get the starting nod. I think Fitz has the best feel for the game but he clearly isn't a starter and maybe odd man out. TE has the experience, quick release, great on the short pass, but gets rattled to easy and doesn't assess open receivers well. Doesn't know how to throw into single coverage well. Brohm has a strong arm... he is the X factor, preseason will tell the story here. Brown is not in this race but he is the only pure passer of the bunch based on college play.
  12. Fletcher is clearly better. I felt that Fletcher would begin to show age over the time he has been with the Redskins...he hasn't. Poz is a bubble player in my book but I only judge by what I see on the field. Poz is a fan favorite and fans cut him a lot of slack. I'm some what amazed by the amount of fans that say trade Whitner or trade Lynch but no one says trade Poz and I wouldn't hesitate to shop Poz...I think he is soft when it comes to the physical contact. I thought DiGeorgio gave us more bang for the buck. But I'm optimistic for this season...Lets see how he adapts to the 3-4
  13. The winning mentality is breeded in two ways. - Winning, nothing breeds the mentality like winning 4 or 5 games in a row against good teams. - Most importantly it starts with coaching. Coaches have to recognize if the talent is on this team can go to the next level and then they have to teach. When we were going to Superbowls our coaching and teaching was outstanding. That is why most the players that left the Bills at that time never achieved the same level of success with other teams because our coaching was better. Now it 's reversed, over the last 10 years former Bills have done just as good if not better elsewhere because our coaching isn't as good. Don't be surprised if Scott plays better due to better coaching. I think Gailey comes to Buffalo, evaluates the teams and feels this team has more talent than others that he has been successful with. Lets face it, he has been part of winning organizations (not sure if he has a SB ring). During the Jauron era I think the Bills acquired ok talent but I think they were under acheivers as well, mentally and physically. We can all think of at least 5 games we have lost in the past 3 years due to stupdity. So I'm not going to freak out when we don't jump at every mediocre free agent that becomes available. Because I think Gailey has had a history of being successful with less talent than he has now and he knows it and he knows how important good coaching is. I do have concerns but I am willing to give him a chance. I think he will get more out of his players. It wouldn't surprise me if the Bills were 10-6 this year but I also realize we could be 6-10 as well. If he can turn Edwards, Fitz, and Brohm into real QB's I'm all for it. In the long run I wouldn't be surprised to see Brohm and Brown be the real beneficiaries of a good offensive coach.
  14. I wonder how many people came up to him saying "you know who you look like.....Diddy" Or weren't you on the Cosby show?
  15. Even Marshawn Lynch says "this guy must be stupid". Maybe this will keep Phil " I know everything " Simms from constantly judging everyone from the booth. Word has it that Chris also admitted to cheating on his taxes and causing the BP oil rigg to blow up by trying to light an under water doobie.
  16. Our LB's were difference makers back then. Even Crowell played very well before his injury.
  17. London Fletcher...our defense hasn't been worth a damn since he left.
  18. Just wait until you see Jason Campbell with the Raiders...I'm sure this will be another deal we are glad we didn't make. JP would make a solid backup the problem was that he never thought of himself as a backup because he was the annointed starter in Buffalo.
  19. Every season it seems that we have rb's that sit out a few games due to injuries, suspensions or some reason. I'm sure all 3 backs will get their share of touches before the season is out. Why let a player go that is on his original rookie contract that you have signed through the non cba season as it now stands. No problem with Lynch but with Spiller on the team it would be in his best interest to be in shape.
  20. You do realize that Brees led the Chargers to a 12-4 record in his last season with them. We should have some one to perform so badly. I do agree with your assessment on Brohm.
  21. The Redskins will do much better this year..their most important move was getting rid of Campbell and getting McNabb. Campbell single handedly lost about 4-5 games last year. Don't be surprise if this team goes 9-7 maybe 10-6. The Bills I look at differently. Over the past 3 years they were 7-9, 7-9. 6-10 and that is with the present QB's and no real experience at OC. If Gailey can teach these guys how to play offense better than what they have been doing over the last few years, I think they can improve to 8-8 or 9-7 this year. Keep in mind we were in many games until the 4th quarter last year. A bigger and stronger defense with more depth will play a big part of it.
  22. Agreed. We need to have three rb's..lets face it we don't know what we are going to get from Spiller. Although it seems that the sky is the limit he hasn't played his first game yet. Beast mode may excel with the zone blocking schemes the Bills will be utilizing. Everyone is down on Lynch but no one is down on Schobel...why so? I think Schobel will come back when the preseason begins for a last run.
  23. Other than the fumble in the NE game what were the regressive signs?
