  1. The above offseason list simply comes from watching the games and not settling for mediocrity. Kyle Williams has been good this year but not a dominant 3-4 NT. Where is the rotation or who effectively plays beside him when we go 4-3? Fitz is a solid backup not a franchise QB but a tremendous step up from Trent Edwards. Move our LT to RT and get a stud LT maybe we will be able to consistanly run to the outside. When is the last time you have seen us run up the middle against a good team? Lets get a nasty guard and move Woods to Center. The need for LB's is obvious. Keep in mind the goal is to win a championship, not to be 8-8.
  2. Our off season priority is the same this year as it was last year. We need a QB, LT, G, DE, OLB, ILB, DT. They all need to be addressed through free agency and the draft. We have to be active in FA because we can't upgrade all needs by the draft alone. If the FO maintains the same attitude as last year we will be lucky to see 6-10 next year. I am curious to see how aggressive we will be.
  3. I agree but the fact of the matter is we still have the same needs as we did last year this time. Some positions may be prioritized differently but we still have the same needs. We have to address needs in free agency as well as the draft. We seriously lack veteran leadership. I like Bowers, Fairley and Quinn in the first round as well, I just don't want to sit through another off season where needs aren't aggressivesly addressed.
  4. Moats is a pleasant surprise but he had a very good college career in 1aa. He is making impact plays. He has some learning to due but he seems to be more of a natural than any other lb that we have. He does get controlled at times but he has the non stop motor and has looked good against bigger and stronger players. He has more upside than any defender that we have. Poz is an average LB with very little upside left if any. Moats in his short tenure has made more impact plays than Poz, Maybin. combined. I understand why Gailey gave him a try at ILB at the beginning of the season. He would be a monster at that position if he could master it. However if he doesn't improve he could be the latest flavor of the week. He has James Harrison, Elvis Dumerville capabilities. I think Gailey and staff will coach him up.
  5. I don't think anyone can say Whitner isn't making tackles this year. In fact he's among the league leaders. It's very sad when your safety is one of the teams top tacklers, it's a true indication that things aren't getting done up front. He is actually playing the best ball of his career.
  6. Based on performance Whitner and Poz are very replacable. Both weren't missed very much when they were injured last year. Whitner has shown he could hit this year in fact I believe he is the best hitter on the defense but I don't see anyone breaking the bank for him. Poz I wish he would hit like Whitner but he doesn't he is smallish and soft. We haven't had a good defense since he has been here and he is a big reason why.
  7. Ganther was with the Redskins last year, he did very little. I would like to see Bell back in Buffalo because I feel he ran with heartin the preseason. You probably make a good point about blocking assignments. Most rookies have to pick that up. In the long run Spiller, Jackson and Bell would make a solid trio.
  8. +1 How many years did it take for Poz to cause 2 QB fumbles....How about one QB fumble. It's nice to see a rookie making impact plays.
  9. Shanahan use tactics of a high school coach and then conveniently leaks information to the media to support his cause. If Shanahan wants to make the team better he can start by bringing in a real OC, someone that really knows how to call plays. The offense will not get better until that happens. Extremely happy the Bills did not go in that direction. Yes there is an excuse....Kyle Shanahan, he sucks.
  10. No need to bone up, you are stating facts...but you are making mountains out of mole hills under the guise of "legitimate" character issues. When things turn criminal thats when I question character. Only time will tell. Did Pete Carroll ever got these kind of cool receptions or questions about his character before he got the Seattle gig. There could be a touch of double standard.
  11. They both can do well in this organization. The Bills will have to build there offensive line so sacks should factor less in the equation. I think with Chan Gailey's history of developing QB's he could bring out the best in both. Both QB's seem to be more gifted than Fitz, Stewart, and Thigpen. Providing they both enter the draft, one of these guys will be available when we pick. Not sure I agree with the assessment that Luck will be better in the pro's when he hasn't showed to be better in college. Could Luck go undefeated in Auburn this year??? Both these guys will need to develop by knowing their play book and reading defenses but I think Chan will work great with either one.
  12. What player in the draft would be low risk? We need to get the taste of Maybin out of our mouths.
  13. If you have a chance to pick up a potentially elite QB, you take him. You can fill the rest of the positions in later rounds. The rest of your picks should go on the lines. Newton is serious trust me if Luck was better he would have won the Heisman. Buying a paper online and saying it was his creates enough character issues to pass on an excellent talent. I got news for you, many college student will barrow from online publications...it's college. Thats like saying college atheletes go drinking after games so they have character issues. Please spare me the character issue garbage. Newton may or may not be the right guy for the team but lets not go out of our way to manufacter character issues.
  14. Bowers or Quinn will be our first pick unless we make a free agent move to satisfy our defensive needs which I doubt. Expect OL to be addressed in the 3rd round.
  15. +1 Hopefully the Geritol has kicked in and these old boys are ready to get things right.
  16. Can't blame Steve for this game. Lets face it if Florence's pick 6 was not enough to spark this team then what is? Did we ever try to double Jared Allen? McKelvin??????
  17. We have played competitive football over the last two months, I wouldn't necessarily call it good. Their were tons of mental lapses from the coach on down. Nice to Moats making a difference. When is the last time you have seen a Bill knock a QB out of the game? Can't say Nix and Gailey get any type of endorsement when it seems as though they did very little preparation for the season. I don't think they were mentally ready for the beginning of this season as well. They have made more moves during the season than during the off season when most other teams are building their rosters.
  18. Yes, lets not forget Lee doesn't make any tackles unless its at least 5 yards down field....oh sorry wrong argument.
  19. I cursed his dumba$$ out like any true Bills fan would. Just for the record I believe I have curse out every Bill since 1968 at one time or another. I have even curse out my television for showing me Bills games at times.
  20. renegotiate...RENEGOTIATE???? Maybin should use his rookie salary and invest wisely.
  21. Then he should have the best year possible and when training camp comes if he doesn't have a new deal ask for a trade with a new deal or hold out. He is way more valuable to the team than Kelsey ever was. He was screwed.
  22. +1 If I was choosing a team and had to pick two rb's at the height of their game it would be Brown and OJ. This is probably the most fun football discussion. Clearly Payton, Smith, amd Sanders weren't as good as OJ. I never really saw OJ get caught from behind. Brown would plow through people. Sayers had the style but never had a thousand yard season but fun to watch. OJ will never get the full credit and maybe he doesn't deserve to but he was the 2nd best rb of all time.
