  1. as long as he stays sober the next 3 I'm okay with that
  2. this is exactly what I wrote originally, then decided to just quote Gugny. Unbelievable life.
  3. Kidnapping and DV
  4. http://nhl.si.com/20.../?sct=nhl_t2_a3 Looks like Miller could be the next to leave
  5. With KC's defense and the beating Thad took last week, hopefully just trying to be prepared
  6. 24-13 Bills...finally a win that we don't have to hold our breath until the last play is over.
  7. lifelong bachelor (at least so far)
  8. http://www.forbes.com/2010/08/27/football-tailgating-nfl-lifestyle-sports-travel-stadiums_slide.html?partner=yahoosports This article from 2010 lists Buffalo as #1, but it may be alphabetical order
  9. This article from Sept 6 2013 has Buffalo at #3 behind Houston (the only warm weather city) and GB. Seattle didn't crack the top 10. FWIW 3rd is the lowest I've ever seen Buffalo ranked, usually 1 or 2 with GB. Given the recent successes of the teams ahead of us and Buffalo's 21st century playoff drought I think it is fair to say that Buffalo is #1 (see how high those other teams rank after just a 5 year playoff drought). http://www.rsvlts.com/2013/09/06/best-nfl-tailgate-cities/
  10. No kids...Long term policy is to have an accident cleaning a pistol. My nephew is getting his PHD in Healthcare Administration, maybe he'll get things straightened out before it comes to that!
  11. My father was on his second two week Respite stay at Atria Penfield when he developed Pancreatitus from stone blockage in his bile duct. That was two weeks ago. He's 95, had a few difficult nights because of the anesthesia but that seems to be clearing up. Trying to get him back into rehab but now he may no longer be a candidate for rehab or assisted living. Getting old ain't for wimps.
  12. Scary report. Looking into assisted living for my parents, the difference in the facilities is eye opening. My best advice is never get old.
  13. I actually wasn't upset at the first challenge. I don't get upset at using a timeout on offense if the ensuing play is successful. We had third and goal coming up, the challenge quieted the crowd at least for a little while to collect thoughts, and the next play was a touchdown. We basically used a timeout and called a play that worked. Had the challenge worked the timeout would have been saved so why not try it instead of just calling the timeout.
  14. If I'm reading this correctly the only all pro (not to be confused with pro bowl) draft pick this century has been Lynch...only pro bowl draft pick selected in the last 5 years has been Byrd.
  15. Nice read. I remember Al Davis being asked about his chances of getting Jim Kelly when the USFL was folding. He said no chance, Ralph Wilson still hadn't forgiven him for Daryle Lamonica.
  16. From his pre-draft scouting capsule from cbssports.com: "COMPARES TO: Jabari Greer, CB, New Orleans Saints: Roby possesses better ball skills than Greer, but otherwise is a similar prospect who will have to rely on the athleticism to overcome a lack of preferred size." http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/players/1737252/nickell-robey
  17. re Freddy - The guy has survived three first-round and countless mid-round draft picks. Now I'm hearing that he actually waived off the cart Sunday, said to let him sit out a couple series and see how he felt (only sat out one). Re RJ/ Flutie - me too Nice topic by the way.
  18. RJ, JP, Williams (Mike and JD), Hardy,. Must say I didn't like trading Tony Hunter for Ferragamo though.
  19. Doesn't say what they gave up for him http://www.thefinsiders.com/blog/2013/report-dolphins-make-trade-with-ravens?_ga=1.165123195.597401300.1382400631
  20. John Daly certainly couldn't master the art
  21. What I like to refer to as alcohol equilibrium...staying at that point is more of an art than a science.
  22. My brother actually hung out outside the brewery and asked a couple couples how many cases they were getting...he ended up with 3 cases. But I promise to drink from the can only going forward.
  23. I probably didn't elaborate enough on my train of thought for agreeing with the go for two philosophy. The 48% success rate you reference is based in large part on scenario's where the defense is expecting the 2-point attempt..the scoring team down by 2 or up by 1 in the fourth quarter where it really wouldn't make sense to go for one. Cinci would have been caught at least a little by surprise by a two point attempt and without any timeouts would not have been able to adjust. Also, building on your 7 point underdog point, had we gone for two at least the outcome of the game would have been in our own hands rather than a coin flip (even though you point out that winning the flip does not mean winning the game I like the odds). And again, hindsight is 20/20.
