2019 Re-Draft: Cody Ford vs DK Metcalf
1st Ammendment NoMas replied to StHustle's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was watching this thinking the same thing. Are we watching Gronk vs Troup V2 here. Of all the WR's to come out last year, I wanted Metcalf, but I didn't think he'd last until our pick in Rd2. Well he did and we went with Ford. Time will tell, but so far Metcalf is 10x better. -
THE ROCKPILE REVIEW - All Part of the Process

If this is how they are being built on defense, fine. The defense has done well, but the offensive philosophy of going into a shell with the lead is not going to win games. -

THE ROCKPILE REVIEW - All Part of the Process
1st Ammendment NoMas replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
An innovative offensive mind creates offense based on the strengths of his players and calls plays based on mismatches they create on defenses. An innovative offensive mind understands how to keep a defense off balance. From what I've seen from Daboll, 90% of the time I know what he is going to do. Every once in awhile they call an awesome trick play or run some smoothly designed play that works well. Then we go back to a predictable series of plays that stall a drive. -
THE ROCKPILE REVIEW - All Part of the Process

Pretty much sums up my feelings. I would like to see DaBoll hit the curb. We need a modern, innovative offensive mind, not a Patsie clone who consistently has his offenses in the bottom 10. -
What Changes will be made this Offseason?

It's the dream get, but in all honesty, if we overpaid for Henry, Conklin and Jones and then went hard in the draft it would be a good off-season. -
Closer to 50 years for me. It's a big let down

I am in the exact same boat and it's one of those sleepless nights that bring back over 45 years of heartbreak and pain that this team brings every year at some point. One Super Bowl win would erase a lifetime of Billsy misery. The way they lose is nauseating, but I finally thought that this year, this team had got over being Billsy. I believed in the culture change, the attitude, the talent and the grit this team had. Then in one half, they regress to being one of those 6-10 teams I've watched for nearly five decades. I haven't got really emotional over losses this year and have been trying to grow out of them. But this team brings back a frustrated kid who Billieved they were going to win the SuperBowl only to see it sail wide right. There has to be 1,000 ways we've ***** up over the years, but to see them all in one half was pathetic. Other than the home-run throwback, I don't think I've been this disappointed in a long time.

What Changes will be made this Offseason?

With 90m of cap space my priorities for FA would be Offense: #1 Hunter Henry (TE) - wow would it be nice to have a real TE. Cut Croft, keep Knox and let him be a good #2. Sweeney and Croom fight it out for #3. Henry would do for us what Andrews did for Balt this year. Austin Hooper would be choice #1B #2 Amari Cooper (WR)- Imagine Cooper, Brown, Beasley with Henry and Singletary. That would be dangerous. #2B would be Nelson Agholor or Randall Cobb along with drafting WR early. #3 Jack Conklin (RT) - Move Ford inside and stabilize RT with Conklin. Make sure we lock up Feliciano and Long. #3B Brian Buluga #4 Kenyon Drake (RB)- I'd love to see Singletary, Drake and Wade in the backfield. Wade may be a pleasant surprise next year. 4B/C I wouldn't mind looking into bringing in Jordan Howard, Jonathan Williams or Ty Montgomery to compete for RB #3 if we decide to draft a #2 instead of Drake. #5 Kyle Allen I thought he did a great job filling in for Cam and we all know how much we love those Carolina boys. He'd be an upgrade to Barkley. Defense: #1 Matthew Judon (LB) is a beast and could take the Lorax spot plus get more sacks. I don't think Shaq Barrett is going to be priced right for us but one can dream. #1B I wouldn't mind if we scooped up Jamie Collins from NE just to weaken them and get intel. I always loved Nigel Bradham and wouldn't mind if he came back on a 2-3 yr deal. Bud Dupree from Pitt would be sweet too #2 Chris Jones (DE) he took a big step this year for KC but may cost more that Shaq. #2B Vic Beasley. #2C Dallas probably won't retain Robert Quinn and Michael Bennet so one of those two could be a nice pickup Realistically, we could get 4-5 of these guys and fill some holes then draft BPA and pick up some more gems at WR/RB/DE/LB/CB Shaq was dealing with a hamstring injury. -

I wouldn't mind if the Bills gave Frank an RB coaching position if he retires. He was a great mentor and good locker room presence for Devin. Let him do the same with the young guys but not be on the roster. Frank is great to have around, but he's out of gas. -
It's a small consolation, but seeing NE go down so fast is a good sign. I hate saying wait until next year when we finally win the AFC East, but it is looking better if we stop being pussies with the lead.

Coach's Challenge on ALL Penalties
1st Ammendment NoMas replied to Livinginthepast's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Add in the delay of game on 3rd and 18 too. You need to be able to challenge that like the NBA does. It's very easy to determine if a play was started before the play clock expired. But we get shafted on that too. -
That play had me screaming at the tv. WTF!! This game made my head spin with so much anxiety. But the officiating in OT was the capper. Clearly the game clock had expired before the snap on 3rd and 18. How that is not reviewable is beyond me. This should be a simple rule. In the NBA, they review the shot clock and can tell if a player beat the clock. Why didn't we get that review. The play should have been blown dead.

The fair catch, that wasn't.

He should have followed the rules. That would have really helped us get momentum. -
Daboll Brutal Down the Stretch
1st Ammendment NoMas replied to billsfan_34's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am beyond myself with fury. WTF was Daboll thinking in the second half. He played to every weakness and we made every dumb mistake. But I am more pissed off with that soft zone bulls*t on 3rd and 18. How you let them get the first like that is insane.
