Watt is the best 34 end in the draft
section122 replied to High Mark's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Just wondering what your basis for this opinion is. Really this is the last guy we need?! How much have you watched him play? -
How about this novel idea... if you want a qb find one on your own. If someone has one you want trade for them. To punish teams that are good at finding talent and teaching that talent is ridiculous. If the bills were good would you be for this idea?

Watt is the best 34 end in the draft
section122 replied to High Mark's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I personally love watt. Watch the game tape against the osu and he single handedly dominated that game. They moved him all around the line and he was unblockable. However I'm pretty sure wisconsin runs a 43 and on a few of those plays he was a dt. If you haven't seen him yet he is def worth checking out. As for the tradeback mentioned above he is top 20 material not top 10 (at least according to projections) so he could be had even after multiple trade downs and stockpiling a bunch of picks. -
Carucci: Bills GM Nix likes Cam Newton "a great deal"
section122 replied to Marshmallow's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Why does it need to be a trade down? If he is who they like then take him there instead of risking losing out on him for an extra pick. Qb is a very important position (obviously) and we have a chance to upgrade it with an extremely exciting and dynamic playmaker. I agree the defense is a bigger problem but not our only problem. I think ppl (myself included) haven't seen quality qb play in so long we will accept fitz. He is decent but will anyone on here call him great? Cam has a chance to be that. I will ask this in all seriousness bc I really do want to know ppls opinion... if they were both available and you had to choose one do you take fitz or cam? -

No CBA might benefit Buffalo's Draft
section122 replied to sllib olaffub's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think having the draft before benefits all of the teams in the nfl. That way they can draft whomever they want then use fa to fill the holes on the team instead of plugging in holes then figuring out who to draft needing to fill holes with unproven players -
I don't even feel his ceiling is low being a safe pick means everyone expects you to be good. He to me is better than bowers and at least on par with fairley if not better. I also agree with the above poster he would immediately become the best end on our team. So improving a weak spot on the roster, getting an immediate contributor, and beefing up our lines is not what you want with the 3rd pick?

I missed that convo completely and thought it was obvious to everyone he was putting on the belt haha Guess I've never thought of it that way but now that you mention it I guess it does make a difference. The only time I notice is when an interviewer spends the entire time lobbing softballs and continuously compliments the player which drives me insane. As much as I can't stand jim romes show he does do a great interview.
-
I do agree first takes b squad isn't the best but I hardly watch interviews for the interviewer
-
It continues to blow my mind how people make statements such as I don't watch much college football but or I haven't seen much of player x but or I saw clips on youtube and this player is amazing/terrible... and then spout opinions as fact. Please go back and watch dareus completely control the line of scrimmage in several games throughout the last two seasons esp the championship game mentioned earlier that they continuosly called his name. He is a safe pick bc his FLOOR is so high not IMO because his ceiling is low. Bowers, gabbert, and quinn scare me bc of the potential to bust.

Stevie johnson was just on first take. Great interview sounded like an excellent teammate said his favorite catch this year was a 3 yarder that set up corey macs first ever td. Also said he has moved on from the drop but learned from it... doing this from my phone so maybe someone could help with the link. Glad there is a consistent face on espn for the bills besides berman! Lol Watching this got me off the ok with aj green bandwagon so many more pressing needs. Feel confident it won't happen anyway his history is taking a tall wr in the middle of the draft (vincent jackson, malcolm floyd, easley, etc...)

Mock draft with trade down.....
section122 replied to MexicanBuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I like it think you addressed a bunch of needs with what should be good value if the players are there. The only glaring one left out is te which I wouldn't mind going the fa route as I feel that's a tough position to project to the pros and is easier to evaluate with a body of work. Also pretty sure taylor won't be there in the 3rd and moffitt may not either. Lastly I don't understand why, if we are truly trying to build through the draft, there is not more trading down to accumulate picks... and don't tell me its hard it doesn't have to be a first round trade down although that would net the most extra picks can be had whenever you move around. -
I really like the flag football idea as my idea was to not have a game but just do skills competitons. There used to be a qb skills comp that I loved as a kid and Saturday night for the nba all star weekend is most peoples favorite. These 2 ideas combined would make for a weekend I would actually watch.

Way way off topic but how about ppl do some parenting and teach their kids right from wrong. Freedom of speech is the thing imo that makes america the best country in the world and you want to repeal that?! I know a lot of dumb things are said on this board but I nominate this as the dumbest post ever!

So much for the NEED to have a "franchise QB"...
section122 replied to McD's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Might be p*ssin in some peoples cheerios with this but... we have multiple years and drafts before the bills will be contending for anything. That is the time it will be neccesary to build up both the d and offense because neither are playoff caliber. Imo it doesn't matter what position this pick plays as much as they are a legit stud in the nfl because that's what #3 picks should do. It doesn't have to be d (although could be) it doesn't have to be a qb (although it could be) it has to be someone who produces period. -
Jerry Jones' ego just might pay off.....for the Bills.
section122 replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Jj watt would be fine for me but not at 9 seems he could be had a few picks later. Multiple trade downs would be less likely than buddy not taking 2 minutes to send in his pick imo -
I don't think anyone should be making their entire opinion on this one game. 6 weeks after the season with all that time to prepare for the defense. He is a special talent and its not the hard to youtube highlights of all of the games this season to have an informed opinion whichever side of the fence you fall on. Me I would take either dareus fairley or him... so far until I look deeper into other top prospects seasons

Bud Adams says Vince Young will not be on the team next year
section122 replied to boyst's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
A couple of things: 1. The article everyone is qupting for how bad of a teammate is from one source who could be like fisher and not care for young. 2. Titans last 2 years with vince 11-7 without 1-13 3. Was having his best statistical year before not being allowed back in the game d/t a hand injury which started the whole issue. 4. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong but if traded the team that picks him up is not liable for roster bonuses as those are from the team w the original contract. 5. How would people feel about trading the 4th we got for marshawn? Him for vy straight up would have been acceptable in my book how bout yours? 6. Picking him up removes the need to draft a qb, I believe chan likes mobile qbs (again correct me if I'm wrong) therefore allowing the team to focus on other needs 7. Don't discount his friendship w scaife as bringing in vy may help bring scaife in which would help our te problem -
Iirc don't the picks alternate in later rounds? Do we switch w cincy in the second round?

It doesn't matter because the players drafted @ 8-10 could have gone 1-3. -

Really dude? No he wasn't but your defeatist logic doesn't apply. Every pick every draft every player is its own entity with an opportunity to be succesful or a failure. I don't care that the ut lineman didn't work I still wanted orakpo. It goes along with the failed qb first rounders akili smith, tim couch, jamarcus have no bearing whatsoever on whether luck, newton, or any other pick (I like moore from bsu but another topic for another thread) will be succesful. However the opportunity to be succesful will be much higher the higher you pick because of the amount of choices you have. -

I apologize and thank you for correcting me. I too remember many useless wins costing us players (as mentioned previously big ben and p willis stick out). Meaningless wins help less next august then a better pick in april will sums up my point. -

So disgusted reading this. How can ppl honestly not see having a higher pick is a good thing! They give higher picks to worse teams so they have a chance to improve. Ppl routinely talk about trading down but why oh why would teams want those high picks according to ppl on this board it means nothing. Yes losing on purpose is not only unethical but also unprofessional for these paid athletes but come on people! A loss helps this team way more than a win. Back to last year we could have drafted okung if we didn't beat the colts. Yes the draft is a crapshoot... with much improved chances the higher you pick. How can people not see this!? -
The team that beat us but still picked ahead of us with the same record was the niners. All along I've wanted the bills to win every Sunday... except this week. Seriously the ppl in the win every week prob agree but if not look at the above post mentioning how much it takes to move up. This is a meaningless game to win that would do nothing but hurt this team long term. This alone may be motivation for the jets to play the jv squad. Can't believe I'm saying this but I hope the bills lose this week (wow that hurts to say)
