  1. This has turned into a bit of a joke thread and some of them are quite hilarious. That said Sanborn did not play well last year. So many snaps were off target especially to the Punter. I would like to see the Bills target a Center in the draft that can be depth for Wood, eventually take over for him, and handle the long snapping duties. Someone like Jack Allen in the 3rd who could provide depth at a bunch of positions on the line while waiting to take over or someone later on in the draft like Graham Glasgow.
  2. I was going to post but as usual someone beat me to it lol. High priced free agents on Bills: Charles Clay Mario Williams Drafted Starters: Watkins Woods Wood Glenn Miller Whichever RT is starting Dareus K Williams Brown Bradham Darby Gilmore A Williams 13 of 22 positions are drafted including 4 of 5 o-lineman, both starting wrs, dts, and cbs, and 2 trades (McCoy and Hughes). That leaves Felton, Tyrod, Lawson, Rambo, and Graham who were all signed to reasonable deals. The depth of the team also includes tons of drafted players like McKelvin, Robey, and Karlos.
  3. I dove into this story as he is one of my favorite non-bills players. From what I have found it appears he told his family and Caldwell before the season it would be his last. At the end of the year Caldwell told him to take some time. Most people FEEL he hasn't changed his mind. I'm not saying this won't happen but it is no more definite than it was when it was originally floated in early January.
  4. I know I'm about a month late but I think the most overlooked change in the defenses was Brandon Spike's absence. He brought a distinct attitude to the defense that wasn't there this year.
  5. I will grant you the penalties. There is no excuse for that. However the roster was not at all similar. Maybe at the start of the year but kyle Williams, leodis, and Aaron Williams all missed significant time this year. That is a pro bowler, a starting safety, and the #2 cb from last year. Add in gillmore and Bradham missing games and we are at half the defense being different for a big chunk of the year.
  6. Weeelllll a democratic socialist isnt the same as a socialist. That said I'm not tied to voting for either party. Unfortunately I am at an age where I have only been able to vote for the last 4 elections. Each time I was forced to pick the person based on not wanting the other guy in the white house. My vote for gore and Kerry was a vote against bush. My vote for McCain was because Obama was not qualified in my mind to be president. My vote for Obama was a vote against Romney who was a terrible candidate and it was revealed after didn't even want to run. I can actually get behind some of what Bernie says. Universal health care is extremely important to me. People are acting like Bernie getting into the white house would turn the us into communist russia. I find that to be nothing more than fear mongering. Not all parts of socialism are bad just like not all parts of capitalism are good.
  7. The bolded is true on both sides. I am at a complete loss that Donald Trump is still relevant in this election. Bernie Sanders is a much better option for the white house than HRC. As a dem he will be getting my vote. I absolutely can't vote for HRC. On the republican side there are not any good options. Trump still being relevant is very damning to the republican party imo. The fact that this complete buffoon can not only last through several debates but also come out on top is making the republican party a joke. Much like HRC still being touted as a favorite is making the dems look like a joke. This entire thread is filled with a lot of snark about how bad Bernie would be. 59 pages in I'd like to ask who is a better option? HRC - liar is about the nicest thing you can say about her Trump - zero political experience, lots of ideas and no plan to execute them, the most out of touch candidate imo Rubio - numerous corruption scandals and a flip flopper on pretty much everything including his religion Cruz - smarmy and disliked are 2 words you hear often about him O'Malley - No traction, not well liked in his own state, a tax history that is worrisome. Who is left? Which of the above names do you support?
  8. While I agree he has done well with the offense.... Clock management cost them multiple games this year. I can understand some fans being upset the he is receiving a promotion. Put it this way, if he is promoted and the DC stays the same, why get rid of coughlin? It could stand to reason that this will make the coaching staff worse not better which should be the idea in parting ways with your hc.
  9. So he owns the first winning record in a decade? This year the team is likely headed for 8-8 if not 9-7 again. Even if they end 7-9 he would be .500 for the last 2 years. You're right though let's run him out of town he's terrible...
  10. I loved Keller Moore in college. I wanted the Bills to draft him. I think he could be Dalton level but the Lions had Stafford and I have no idea what he is now. I'm happy with tyrod now but would have loved Moore on this team for the last few years.
  11. This is very far from the truth. 2. Jason smith bust 4. Aaron curry out of the league quickly 6. Andre smith man boobs himself If you want to go after the Bills pick: 16. Larry English 17. Josh freeman 24. Peria jerry All busts. I even left out players that are still in the league but didn't live up to potential like Tyson jackson, Mark sanchez, and Darrius Heyward bay that went before maybin.
  12. Don't worry. I am a reddit regular. They are a loooonnnnggg way off on quality and quantity of content. I'm subscribed to r/bills and there is nothing there that hasn't already been discussed at length here. Also the average age over there I would imagine is teens.
  13. I'm curious as to why you would cut off the rest of the quote. The part where I asked for help understanding.
  14. That is because the GOP is so out of touch. They can't continue to sell the idea that the poor people are these evil scammers trying to separate everyone from their dollar's when none of us have any dollar's to be separated from. People that used to be middle class now require assistance just to make ends meet. Very few rich old white guys can relate to anyone under 40. Add in the idea that so much of the GOP is hate based and fear mongering even many conservatives are embarrassed with that their party has become much the same as myself as a democrat and many others I know. There are blind supporters of each party and then the rest of us in the middle wondering what the f*ck is going on. I disagree to me there are many worse parts of socialism. I think government should stay out of most industry but healthcare is not one of them. I stand by my assertion that they charge what they do because there is no reason not to. Medical responsibility being in the hands of bean counters even lends itself to that idea. However I am not against being wrong so help me out. Why would obamacare drive the prices up so drastically? Is it possible that the rise in cost is tied into the aging baby boomer population which is making insurances have to pay out more? Therefore to keep their margins the same they raise rates? I'm genuinely curious and not trying to be a dick here.
  15. Yes it was but Obamacare isn't universal health care. Universal health care would remove the middle man that saw an opportunity and took advantage of it. If you sold a product and the government said everyone had to buy your product, would you raise or lower prices? That is the only reason health care costs skyrocketed - because they could. The idea that people'e health and welfare is a source of profit for others is the worst part of capitalism.
  16. I hate to put the tinfoil on so quickly into this foray into ppp but to me she is likely being trumpeted because she fits the status quo. She is the candidate that we are used to seeing and it is "her time". Add in the support (read dollars) that media companies such as Time Warner have given her and it isn't surprising to think that she is being pushed and trumpeted without actually being the leader. It wouldn't be the first time the media was less than truthful with citizens. Yup. She isn't very likable at all. I have been watching the debates and am left with this: Trump is an absolute disgrace. He preaches hate and focuses on how amazing he is and how much money he is worth. I can't imagine any sort of successful foreign policy that he could develop, implement, or spear head. He would be a downright embarrassment as THE representative for our nation on the world's stage. Hillary is close behind. She is everything that is wrong with politics. That said she is an amazing politician. I don't mean that as a positive thing but watching her debate and speak in a public forum you can just see how carefully crafted every word is. I dislike her strongly but that is impressive (again not a positive thing). Then there is the rest. Bernie Sanders is interesting and I think ultimately he will end up being the democratic nominee. Currently he has my support but (and I will duck and cover) I am a strong proponent of universal health care. It may be a post for a different topic but it isn't the evil that it is made out to be. I currently pay over $800 a month for health insurance for my family and that doesn't include co-pays, prescriptions, etc... With all of the money I paid out in 2015 it totaled over 12k. I have family that lives in Europe and has universal health care. It works very well and most of the "worries" pushed on us are bogus. Wait times aren't worse, taxes aren't high enough that they come close to what most of us pay for insurance, they still have high quality doctors, and (my favorite part) people don't have to choose between medical care and dinner.
  17. Do you really believe this? Nobody is dumb enough to think like this are they? It is weird. I know that polls say she is the favorite but I haven't met a single person who actually thinks that Hillary is a good candidate or that she deserves to be president. I'm a democrat but want no part of Hillary (unless my choice is her or Trump then my hand will be forced).
  18. Eh I keep winning and am playing with house money. Luck/skill/gambling? I don't really care lol. The only reason most people care is because of the advertising. If season long is legal then daily has to be legal. There is absolutely no difference.
  19. Ah yes that right it was the Pistons strategy.
  20. Add to the fact Belicheat is notorious for taking away what you want to do and forcing you to beat them with guys like Hogan.
  21. Two very good posts on the topic. I remember a play while watching with a friend that was a huge Jordan fan, Jordan rose up took the shot, missed it, the other team got the rebound, then the foul was called. Only then did I get him to admit to "Jordan Rules" The Patriots* are a very good team and extremely well coached. That is what makes the stretching of the rules and preferential treatment all the more obnoxious. They don't NEED it to be good. Them getting it pushes them into the spectacular stratosphere. Then hearing about how great they are gets obnoxious quick. The NBA was never more popular than it was when Jordan played. The NFL has never been more popular than it is now. These teams and the league are run by very smart people. As I have posted each time in this thread. It isn't about being rigged. It is about the stretching of the rules on their own accord (outside of league approval) and then the league slapping them on the hand that has caused me to not care as much. Not some grand conspiracy. The punishment has not fit the crime. No wins stripped, no championships stripped, no long lasting detriment, all for the benefit of the league. I totally get it and the masses are eating it up. Doesn't mean I have to like it. Little fuzzy on the facts but wasn't this the same game they called PI in the end zone on a hail mary and the team walked off before the pat? Not that I think Gruden was or wasn't referencing that game but I remember the end of that game being a big deal. If it was the same game I could see it sticking in a football junkie's brain.
  22. Eh I don't know here is what he said... I'm pretty close but I'm not there yet. Personally, I found it completely comical that Gruden literally said "just give it to em" on the Shady TD. That's an obvious reference to that infamous game and possibly a subtle admission by Gruden that this whole thing is fixed... I'm close, but not there yet. so angry. for absolutely no reason. Can you please point to anyone saying it is fixed in this thread?
  23. Who in this thread has said it was fixed. Looking the other way while a team skirts the rules isn't fixing the game in my mind. My entire post in this thread was to the point that I can't care about football as much because there is a team that regularly plays right at the border of the rules and it seems nobody in the league cares. The BB combo is a great one. However when their names are mentioned cheating is the first thought of many people. I think a lot of people specifically people here would take 4 sb championships even if it came with the cheater reputation. Was spygate, the loss of a first round pick, and a million dollar fine worth 3 championships? You bet your ass it was to the Pats*. Do you think a first round pick, 750k fine, and entire offseason of deflated ball talk was worth a championship. I'll bet it was. I would wager the Pats* have made way more than 1.75 million dollars from being a 4 time champion. That is why cheating is worth it and why I have reached the tipping point when it comes to being a die hard. I still love football. I still watch every week and plan my life around Bills games. I am nowhere near as emotionally invested as I used to be.
  24. I myself have already reached the tipping point. I just can't bring myself to care as much about the NFL as I did before. The Pats* are rewarded for skirting the rules and I can't even be mad at them. Tell me right now you wouldn't take the reputation of a cheater if it came with 4 super bowl championships. At the end of the day the Pats* make a ton of money for themselves and the league. The NFL is a business. Goodell is in place to maximize profits like any good ceo would. It isn't worth caring enough to get upset anymore.
  25. I actually have though for a while that Boston is a hot bed for HGH. David Ortiz being the golden child result. His world series performance 2 years ago sent up hug red flags for me. He didn't have more than 20 hrs while playing for the Twins then goes to Boston and runs off seasons of 31,41,47,54. This also coincides with the Patriots rise. Which included players such as Rodney Harrison having it mailed to his house in his name! Then again I am a Lakers, Yankees, and Bills fan so I hate all things Boston sports lol. As for the original topic does anyone know a way to search such info? I get that it is a physical game. However it seems extremely convenient that they have benefited from this injury streak and I just want to see if there is more to it.
