  1. I have to say I have seen a lot of one game at a time mentality from all sides. Rex, the players, even the fans. I have been tuning into John Murphy on my ride home (app) and it has been refreshing to hear the players. "Victory Monday" is being well attended and each player interview is focused on the next opponent. I agree that it is wait and see but I am sure enjoying this ride!
  2. It was thought before the year that the Jets could possibly start out 1-6 with how tough the beginning of the season was. I didn't actually think it would come to fruition (or that their lone w would be against the Bills) but Fitz is being Fitz and Chan is being Chan.
  3. I'll start with Sunday... Sunday - watch the 1pm (or whenever Bills are on), have the 4pm game on but doing things around the house (unless I am too drunk from the Bills game, watch the Sunday Night game in its entirety or until I fall asleep Monday - watch the entire game stressing out about fantasy Tuesday - Waiver wire for fantasy Wednesday - see who I and others got off the waiver in fantasy Thursday - the entire game Friday - obsess about fantasy and tinker Saturday - maybe Bama or Cuse, usually the big Saturday night game. My wife hates football season.
  4. That interview was fantastic and I really look forward to Incognito in radio when he hangs it up. My favorite was the story of Shady giving him the ball and him spiking it. Shady told him he looked really fat doing it and Richie responded "I thought this was a safe zone" I will refute this point every time I see it. That loss against the Steelers "backups" was led by a bunch of guys who took the Steelers to the Super Bowl a couple of years later. At the time it looked terrible but knowing what we do now about those players careers it wasn't as bad as you (and many others) remember it. Leading Rusher - Willie Parker Leading Receiver - Antwaan Randle El (Hines Ward also played) Larry Foote had an INT Troy Polamalu had a sack James Harrison and Joey Porter were the starting OLBS All of these guys played major roles in a Super Bowl win just 2 years later. Can we please put this fallacy to bed!
  5. I would add week 11 as a possibility. If the Bengals get it turned around and the Packers continue to look like garbage that is. The Bills would also have to still be on their roll. I don't think it will happen but 11, and 13 are small possibilities, week 17 if it is for the playoffs is another possibility. The Rex/Jets, symmetry of last season, and trying to break a 16 year drought would be a lot of story lines for the NFL to sell.
  6. http://i.imgur.com/jc4j4H5.gifv Watch as 10 Andrew Luck's have a chance at and fail to stop Lamar Miller!
  7. It seemed to be a Pettine specialty too.
  8. Holy crap! That led me to do some more digging... Shady is 2nd in the NFL in Rushing but 8th in attempts Shady is 2nd in ypc .1 behind Ajayi who has about half of the amount of carries Shady has the 2nd most runs of 20+ yards and is 2nd for runs for a first down Shady is tied for the league lead in tds with 6 Shady is 6th in the league for yards per game from scrimmage. Wow what an impressive 4 game run he is on!
  9. As teams get smaller to defend the quick pass they become vulnerable to the "ground and pound." The Bills zigged when other teams were zagging. It is how Seattle was dominant and how NE has been trending especially now that they have 2 big body tes and blount being used even with Brady's return. The Bills are actually ahead of the curve!
  10. It's because Darby isn't due for a new contract
  11. I saw this live and we must have re-watched it 10 times during the next break. It was beautiful 1,2,3 bang, bang, bang. Great blocks and it was something great to see on 3rd and 20. How many times in years past did teams break our hearts and spirits doing this to us?!
  12. I too think they use the tag on him this year and I am perfectly okay with that. I think that the idea of using the tag on him was why it was so important to get the Tyrod restructure done before the start of the year. Although I don't think Gilmore is worth top 5 money, for 1 year I wouldn't be mad. A long term top 5 money deal would, imo, be a bad business decision. Your post reads as though he needs to be top 5 to be elite and I don't think that is the case. He can be borderline elite/ very good and still not worth top 5 money. Unfortunately the money will likely bear a top 5 contract for him. Some team with a ton of cap space will throw a big deal at him (if not franchised) and he will likely take it. 16 teams have more than 38 million in cap space for the upcoming year. Also your links have not done much for your argument. One had Gilmore as the 11th best cb (at least 2 of the guys on the list haven't played well this year), and the other is from so long ago it has Peanut Tillman (who has since retired) as one of the top cbs in the league.
  13. My friends have had a field day with this video as I look very much like this guy in the video, down to the McCoy jersey that I wear on game day. I go with the color rush jersey though!
  14. ahh I see. I was misreading. I've been watching the games with my uncle over the last few weeks and Gilmore is his favorite whipping boy. I've tried explaining that you can't let the expectation of perfect cloud what is very good cb play but we are both in agreement that he isn't deserving of the monster contract that I think he will be getting.
  15. Bandit I think you are attributing things here that aren't necessarily the point. See below and I'll add on. This is where I am. Gilmore is a very good cb and getting beat is part of the job. However just from my eye balls, he isn't warranting top 5 money. It could be a case of trying to protect himself, it could be a case of the contract weighing on him, it could be many things. I think the argument against re-signing him is that money may be spent better elsewhere. I wouldn't mind Gilmore at 10 million per but I don't think that even comes close to what he gets. I don't feel really good about giving him 14 million per with what I have seen so far this year and I think that is more in the neighborhood of what he gets.
  16. He was the guy I wanted in this draft. When watching Clemson it was impossible to avoid seeing him. He just made plays. Hopefully he can continue to do so in the red, white, and blue!
  17. I think you and I look for different things from our tv shows I usually am looking for something fairly mindless after a long day and I'm not afraid to admit it lol
  18. I agree that he should have benched Mario but his options were a no effort Mario or IK. It was kind of a damned if you do damned if you don't situation.
  19. Just watched the first episode of Lethal Weapon last night. I was really surprised at how high budget it appeared. Also love anything Wayans so if you haven't yet checked it out...
  20. I am completely against trading away Mccoy but you saw how much they gave up for Sam Bradford right?
  21. First time owning him in a few years. Thought I stole him at pick 15. However if we have to pay the price in fantasy I won't mind lol
  22. That's a great team. Im with chilly, until he shows it I'm going cooks over thomas.
  23. A little info about him: Allen’s first game officiated at the NFL level was the Mark Trestman-led Bears hosting the Buffalo Bills (Trestman’s Bears lost in OT 23-20). This is a beautiful thing right here – No glaring areas showing Allen’s crew calling more penalties on offense or defense, not a ton of personal fouls to speak of, and overall just a fantastic dispersion of penalties. I’m not saying Allen is the poster boy for the NFLRA, but I can say that this crew is exactly what they want to see out of all of their crews. They set the bar, and they set it high. A young gun in his second year calling great games without any major controversial calls attached to his name should make guys like Walt Anderson and Pete Morelli either tighten up their game, or hang up the whistle.
  24. You can't/won't fault him for choosing to stay healthy instead of putting forth effort? If a player on the mets did that how would you feel? If the company you work for is having a poor quarter do you mail it in? first bolded: The highest paid player in team history gets discouraged because he can't play at his best so he lays down? What? second bolded: Bruce played de in a 3-4 which is not an ideal spot to put up the sack numbers he did. So 3-4 is not a scheme he could play his best in, shouldn't he have gotten discouraged? What does that even mean? You want to see a player beat the crap out of the Bills but the Bills win? I don't ever want to see any player play well against the Bills specifically one whose job is to hit the qb. I will say that I watched for it during the Washington game as there was already rumbling on the board. What I saw was terrible, pathetic, atrocious, whatever word you want to use for a disgusting lack of effort. I highly recommend you checking out that game and his performance then deciding on your opinion. Beat me to it but I agree specifically with the last part. I would have been okay with the dip in his production if I thought he was trying. 2.5 more and double the tackles. However 31 shouldn't be the end for a de. Especially one who relies on power and not speed. It all comes down to effort with Mario. I am one of the group that believes he will flash from time to time this year when he is motivated. Unfortunately I think that will be twice against us. hmmm remember the slide in the denver game? 4th down and he gave up. He got killed (rightfully so) for that.
