"Fine" isn't what you're looking for at 13 million especially when coming off and injury with no plans to pay him the crazy amount he's going to want after next season.

$$$ If you're not going to pay a player, you may as well get something for them.

This isn't surprising. His play has fallen off and he's getting older. Right time to move on for them.

Uhh..I make political statements all of the time at work. I'm in no danger of being fired. The company in the offices next to us actively campaigns for things like toys for tots in their offices. People wear political statement t-shirts all through the building which has several different companies. The causes mentioned like fighting breast cancer are actively supported DURING games. Pink sneakers, lapels, ribbons on the uniform, etc. You have ceremonies at games for supporting the troops. So I'm not sure what you're accurate about it "being outside the game".

No, you decided that was my point on your own. How many games did he miss this year? Oh, I guess he was "Playing hurt"? Is that the excuse? Out of a potential 64 games he's played in 52. That's not great, but it's not like he's barely seen the field.

Didn't say he didn't have talent. Regardless of his talent, he's not doing much with it.
