  1. So why have the Bills been so bad: only one starter from the first round picks of the last eleven years (not including Dareus). You don't build teams through Free Agent signings, you do it throug the draft . . . obviously something we have not done. Go no further than this list to explain the results of the last 10 years.
  2. Bottomline, we have other people who can do what LE did. Getting a 4th for him was OK. We would all like to see more, but it's hard to make the case he was worth more in light of what other receivers have been traded for lately. Moreover, it gives him a chance to go to the play-offs and maybe a Super Bowl. Good for him.
  3. Brady gets hurt in week two, Mallet takes over, becomes the forest player to ever be the league MVP and Rookie of the Year in the same year, and TBD posters moan and grown about not taking him when we had the chance for the next ten years. Or, he sets on the bench all year, looks good in a few mop-up roles, and we still moan and grown about not taking him.
  4. "fear the beard" - great job! thanks! Your report has driven me to this conclusion: I admit not liking the idea of trading Evans, but with the abundance of talent we have at wide receiver, it might be a good idea if we get real value for him.
  5. Greenie - 5 Golic - 6 Leam - 5 Total = 16
  6. Would they take Maybin instead?
  7. Bell, never to start again? What? I'm all for adding an experienced tackle, right or left side, but Bell will be starting at Left OT on 9/11.
  8. Are there any worth drafting? I don't see any mentioned.
  9. OK, what are you smoking, can you share it? Seriously, you got to be kidding? By the way, it has often been said he is the best athlete on the team. And not to mention, he has consistently been one of the best punters in the NFL. If he played in NY City, or Dallas, he'd be a superstar. So put down the pipe, and go clear your head.
  10. Nothing less than a first round pick for him! He was the 11th best over-all player in the 2008 draft, that has to mean something, right???? Seriously, why would anyone trade for him, when you have to pick up his first round pick salary, and knowing he's done nothing at all on the field? If there is any interest, just wait until he's cut and you can sign him to a minimal contract.
  11. He has talent (I would prefer to call it ability), but he also had the unfortunate expectations of being a number 8 pick . . . he just wasn't a high first round pick.
  12. "But I know the neighborhood And talk is cheap when the story is good And the tales grow taller on down the line" (REO Speedwagon) Ah, my wife says too bad, she would like to see a Texan Tight End
  13. Good stuff, thanks much Fitz. . . . getting anxious to see some real action
  14. If Carey is cut, offer him Clabol-type money and get him here ASAP!
  15. Until his first drop in his first game, then we would be reminded of why no one else wanted him.
  16. you're not serious are you ???
  17. In the words of Ruben Brown: Nix to Dante, "If the phones not ringing, it's me." However, if we can get him cheap, sure bring him back! At the least he gives depth and experience, and he is not an awful player. His curse is that he was drafted too high and has had to try and live up to an 8th over-all pick, something he never was, and never will be. If only Maybin had been as productive as him
  18. can Davis lend some of that to Maybin? But I like the idea of getting best players out there, and if that means shifting Moats to get him more involved, go for it.
  19. Yeap! Williams fits better there, and Troupe and Jasper have real NT bodies. And watch Carrington, I think he'll have a breakout year. Potential for an outstanding D-line rotation.
  20. Tebow for MVP !!!!
  21. One big issue this thread raises, is the Bills have to stay away from injuries. Which of course, is probably impossible to do. Nonetheless, the less injuries, especially to key players, the more likely a team is to be consistent, and to win. Keep your eye in the injury list, that will be the first big indicator of the level of success for this season.
  22. It is good news, certainly better than the alternative . . . and if it was the alternative, this board would be blowing up with comments about how bad a signing it was. Anyhow, let's hope it continue for a long time.
  23. Like I said, we blew it back then. McKinney has been a very productive OT for 8 years. Does that mean we should look at him now? In my opinion, yes! At lease do your due diligence. My feeling is the Miami guy (Carey?) would be a better pick-up, but a team in need of OT help should at least make some phone calls, and buy him a ticket for an interview if there's any hope for him. There is little risk in asking the right questions.
  24. I remember the draft, it was between him and Mike Williams. And of course, we chose the wrong guy again.
  25. "my preferred Defense" after studying all the complexities and nuances of the 3-4 vs. 4-3, and some hybrids of both, "my preferred Defense" is the one that doesn't allow the other team to score more points than our team does. I hope we have the right players for that system.
