  1. For me it's about what I do NOT want to hear. I want to hear nothing like: "pack your bags we are going to the playoffs" "we are going to build a bully" “Is this thing on? Because it’s getting ready to be on.” “I know we’ll lead the league in defense. That’s just the way it goes.” “I know it’s been 17 years since the Bills made the playoffs. Well get ready, man, we’re going. We are going.” Or any other of the Rex false bravado bull **** or anything like it. Don't talk about it, just !@#$ing make it happen.
  2. Too lazy to look for it, but I seem to recall a similar article after the Rex hire. But give the new guy a chance. At the very least, Brandon has some good marketing ammo for next season, and plenty of time to use it.
  3. So long as there is a Rooney rule some teams will interview a person of color simply because they have too. The insulting thing is that there IS a Rooney rule in the first place that puts teams and candidates in that position.
  4. The two situations couldn't be more different. With Watkins you are talking about a WR in what was generally considered to be a WR rich draft. Not the Bills greatest draft moment, IMO. Compared to now where there are several teams in need of a QB, one of them being the team drafting first, in a QB poor draft. As an exercise, try and come up with an offer that the Bills could make to Cleveland for this kid if he ends up being the only highly regarded QB in the draft.
  5. If you lock in the price for all 3 years and are certain that you will want them for all 3 years, that's probably what I would do. Fairly certain the price is not going to go down for the clubs.
  6. All 5 years guaranteed, or have the Pegulas learned from their Rex mistake?
  7. This made me laugh, thank you The SUV (not Ferrari) had plenty of brakes this season, defense, HC, and Carpenter to name three. What it lacked was a solid engine (QB), and a non-defective onboard computer (HC/DC).
  8. I can't even imagine what Whaley would need to give the Browns to make that happen. Lilly from AT&T is way hotter. The Pegulas giving me seasons in the owners box for the Bills and Ssbres would get me excited for next season. Short of that, meh.
  9. The action probably speaks louder than after the fact words to said candidates IMO.
  10. Maybe it works and maybe it does not. Time will tell. But at least the Jags organization is trying. Some people here act like Marrone stood them up for the prom. But on paper anyway, the Jags seem to have gotten an upgrade with Marrone and Coughlin. As opposed to the Bills who will likely be getting a coordinator as their HC at some point, the same FO as it has been for several years, and your guess is as good as mine as to who will be playing QB. It's hard to imagine the drought gets broken this coming season, but hey miracles sometimes do happen.
  11. If you say so, the Bills are a wonderful landing spot and all the candidates will surely be fighting for that prize. One Bills drive is nothing but unicorns and rainbows. There is the hyperbole you were looking for.
  12. In terms of Lynn and all the other HC candidates out there now, I'm sure they understand why the decision was made. They also know that the decision was taken out of the HC's hands, twice, not by the GM but by the owner. The GM said so publicly at a press conference. What HC candidate wants to go to a team with (more than likely) no viable QB, the FO is a dumpster fire, and has meddling owners if there are other choices? I am at a loss as to why that is hard to understand.
  13. If you are going to purge, then purge. Go big or go home. Nothing says those two and some others couldn't apply for their old jobs with the new regime. Anyone new would probably want to keep a fair amount of low level people who knew how the day to day operations worked anyway.
  14. The decision being taken out of his hands gave Lynn an insight as to how life as the Bills HC would be. My guess is that the subject came up during the interview, Lynn expressed his displeasure at how it went down, the Pegulas realize if Lynn doesn't accept the job in Buffalo they will be hard pressed to find anyone with any ability to take the job. So they "express remorse" hoping to convince Lynn and the other candidates they really aren't meddling owners.
  15. It's almost always somewhat of a rebuild when you change head coaches. If Lynn ends up with the job it will probably be much less of a rebuild than if someone off the street comes in.
  16. I do not believe that for a second. They played Shady for gods sake, that should be enough of a clue. They didn't play Taylor because of contract reasons. Lynn didn't want to look like crap. That was no tank for pick. More like phoning it in for most players, particularly the D and EJ Manuel playing.
  17. Ultimatum? Hmm, I doubt I'd play it that way if I were the Bills. But I'm not the Bills.
  18. Even if the Bills make him an offer today I expect he will look at any and all other options before making a decision.
  19. Nah, TV for sexy Rexy.
  20. Sometimes ya gotta help family. Look at Rex and Rob this past season.
  21. They stated publically that they liked Rex too while he was here. Just sayin. How smart would it be for a player to say they hope for someone else and Lynn gets the job.
  22. I was ambivalent, but now !@#$ HIM!
  23. Don't give a **** and won't be watching. This season is over for me and I'm on to hockey and hoops.
  24. Preparing for a playoff game
