  1. CBS with Spread (Bills -3.5): 4 Bills 4 Fish. (http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/features/writers/expert/picks/against-the-spread/16) CBS Straight Up: 4 Bills 4 Fish. (http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/features/writers/expert/picks/straight-up/16) ESPN: 5 Bills 4 Fish. (http://espn.go.com/nfl/picks) Microsoft Cortana: Went 75% week 15. Buffalo a 64% chance of winning. (http://www.cortanapredictions.com/) FiveThirtyEight:. Went 12-4 week 15. Bills 59% chance of winning. ELO point spread 2.5. (http://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/2016-nfl-predictions/) Amos: Went 69% week 15. Buffalo a 51% chance of winning. (http://trevorbischoff.com/2016-amos-nfl-predictions/) FiveThirtyEight gives the Bills a 1% chance of making the playoffs. Amos has the Bills 3rd in the AFCE with a record of 8-8, only ahead of the Jets. For the season so far: FiveThirtyEight has called 65% of the games correctly. Cortana 63% Amos 56% If you did nothing but pick home teams you'd be at 56% for the season.
  2. This is a valid point if and only if Whaley wasn't in favor of the Ryan hire.
  3. Football is a business to the participants. It's smart of them to not risk injury any more than they need to. No idea about contracts, but even if there was all they would just have to say is they tweaked an ankle or have the flu. Talking of millions of dollars, I'd do the same in their place.
  4. It is possible however. They don't have to worry about him quitting or he would forfeit all the rest of his guaranteed contract money. But, it does seem unlikely simply because what is the upside for the Bills telling him now?
  5. Wouldn't that be something if beating NE with a 3rd string rookie QB with an injured throwing hand ended up being what allowed the Bills to back into the wildcard. I don't think the Bills have a hope in hell of getting in mind you, but wouldn't that be something
  6. I don't see Rex's ego allowing him to fade quietly into retirement if he has other options like TV.
  7. Ego would be the only thing that brought him back if he was asked. But like some others, I think he ends up on TV having fun and pulling in 2 big paychecks for a few years.
  8. The 2-12 Jags needing to beat the 8-6 Titans is heading that direction. They are at home, and just got an upgrade at HC. But the Titans still have a lot to play for and the Jags are already long out of the playoffs. That is a tough one to see as a win for the Jags.
  9. Maybe because it was extremely close to being a disaster,
  10. 538 now has the Bills chances at 1%!
  11. I knew the Browns were bad, but wow are they BAD.
  12. 538 update after the early games has the Bills playoff chances down from 2% to < 1%. Still above 0 though
  13. The Bills have been mediocre, at best, for 18 years. Ticket sales will certainly not grind to a halt, or even decrease much now no matter what OBD decides. You overestimate, in my opinion, the average Bills fans requirement of a winner. Look at the entire history of the Bills, and even the Sabres. The average Bills fan requires only that the team stay in Buffalo to be loyal and financially support the team. You can argue if this is a good thing or a bad thing, but it is a thing.
  14. Sure, give the public what they want in order to get them to frequent your business makes perfect sense. Except in this case the fans are going to buy tickets either way, IMO anyway.
  15. I'm sure you are right about where they will draft win or lose, plus the Bills haven't exactly been setting the world on fire with their drafting anyway. The only real advantage I can see is for the fire Wrecks crowd. Being the only team to lose to Cleveland may be the straw that broke the Pegulas back and force them to fire him. Particularly if they play to win, i.e. play TT.
  16. Boy if the head coaching decision is decided this way, the Bills are far worse off than I thought. But it would explain a lot about the last 17 years.
  17. How will they realize that? You don't seriously think the number of season tickets sold will go down significantly next season, do you? Not a chance. How else would they know? Plus, are the majority of Bills fans outraged? Or even unhappy? The majority, in my opinion, are happy they have a team to go tailgate then watch. You can't judge Bills fans in general from this board.
  18. Exactly why he should not see the field again this season *if* the Bills don't plan on having him on the roster next season.
  19. No not money in my opinion. It's to help Buffalo. Pegula is a hockey person which is why he bought the Sabres. I believe, and I have never met anyone in the Pegula family so it is only my belief, that the only reason he purchased the Bills was to keep them in Buffalo.
  20. Surprised I need to say this but, it's not his fault that the Bills drafted him as high as they did, or that he sucks as a starting QB. As near as I can tell, he has been nothing but a team player the entire time and has a good work ethic. He has been nothing but loyal to the Bills organization. There is no reason that the Bills should be anything but loyal to him, particularly when it costs them nothing to do so. If the Bills were fighting for a playoff spot then obviously not, but the Rex Ryan circus has ended that fantasy. If nothing else, IMO you don't play TT because of the insane injury clause (who the hell writes these contracts for the Bills?), and you don't play Cardale because he has never been prepared at all to play this entire season. By simple process of elimination EJ starts, and a side benefit is he gets seen and it costs the Bills nothing. Start EJ, maybe Cardale dresses and is the backup and gets a few snaps.
  21. Every pick is in. Overwhelming majority taking the Bills, which means the Bills will probably lose
  22. Close to allowing more yards per game than the number of wings Rob can eat in one sitting.
  23. I don't blame the media for being on a witch hunt, look what Ryan has done to this defense. He should burn. Bolded, come on man be serious. But if we ignore reality for a moment, do you think anything changes if they make it by an act of god and get smoked by 50 in the first round?
  24. CBS in and ESPN mostly in.
