  1. Not dumb at all. The dumb thing would be not to listen. You can always say no, but if some idiot decides to offer up 2 or 3 #1 picks you should at least be listening.
  2. Also, what the average age of a season ticket holder is. I am somewhat like you. I had a ticket for a couple years long ago, but gave it up to watch with my family as the kids got old enough to watch. Now I just prefer the view and the comfort of watching at home with the entire family and in a considerably shorter amount of time (recorded with commercials and halftime removed).

  4. There is no room for your logic during the annual "we won the offseason and are going to the playoffs (so pack your bags)" koolaid fest sir!
  5. Me. I learned a while ago that alcohol and the internet are a very bad combination
  6. I think the real reason that you are optimistic is that it is the off season. That's the time of year that it is possible and fun to believe that the Bills are likely to go to the playoffs due to the lack of information either way yet. "We got players X, Y, and Z and only lost A, B, and C (and they sucked and wanted too much money anyway). Plus, we have Rex ... McD now, and the Pegulas are really great owners now because they learned from the past! It's our time/run deep/starts with one! " Not that there is anything wrong with joyous optimism. It's one of the best things about the off season.
  7. And Houston not blocking the lateral move is fishy as well. Or, maybe I'm just paranoid after the past 2 decades
  8. Lateral move to go from Houston to Buffalo? Makes me wonder why. Did the Pegulas throw a pile of cash his way or something?
  9. No we won't. If the Bills are out of the playoffs in December the reasons will be injuries, refs conspiring against the Bills, the league conspiring against the Bills, God hating the Bills, the Jills are/were ugly, and the sun was in their eyes all game every game.
  10. He may, in fact, see the "big picture" much more than people think. He is a rookie HC with a defensive background and obviously no GM experience who was put in charge of a draft. Was this wise of the Pegulas? Probably not, but it is what it is. But no matter what, he certainly isn't the right person to be drafting a QB at #10 overall. Perhaps he realized his shortcomings (a trait his predecessor could have used BTW), traded down and selected a player at a position he was comfortable selecting. Some say selecting a DB in that draft in the first round wasn't smart either, but he is essentially a DC not a GM and that is what it is as well. Selecting a player at a position he was knowledgeable in, and at the same time securing an additional first round pick for the GM to use in the next draft may well demonstrate that he sees the long term big picture very well.
  11. That's all well and good, until the savior dejour ends up 6-10. Then you fall back to plan B. Bills fans, after nearly two decades of sucking, just like to have plan B ready.
  12. It's a sports team. Fun to follow and watch and discuss. But wow this sounds obsessive compulsive to me (I am not a doctor and do not even play one TV). Kinda scary bro.
  13. The Pegulas made him president of the Sabres as well.
  14. I doubt the NFL would need to do that anymore. The risks are well known and documented. Anyone entering the NFL now knows the risks. Who needs the assumption of risk waiver, in my opinion, is to have every parent of every player through high school sign one (if they don't already). As you stated, that's where it begins. If the player later in life looks to sue someone for their CTE from football, the pee wee etc. leagues can offload the lawsuit to the players parents.
  15. They can make improvements certainly that would help. But the fact of the matter is, the sudden stop injures the brain. They can make it less of a sudden stop, but they cannot eliminate the damage so long as routine head collisions are part of the game. Either you accept that as a player or parent of a player, or you do not.
  16. I don't care how much padding you put on it. These guys are so fast and strong it will still be used as a weapon. A rule change would do it, but that alters the game by taking so much of the violence out of it no one would like that change. Right now, if you let your kid play you as the parent are assuming that responsibility. The cumulative effects of all the hits to the head are well established now. More and more parents are choosing to opt their kids out of the game.
  17. Already happening in parts of the country. My wife is a nurse and we have a neighbor who is a concussion researcher for a major local teaching hospital. My sons never had a chance of playing anything but flag football. For the record, I agreed with the decision. The risks are simply far too great for a sport, particularly when there are so many more to choose from.
  18. Well, the roster has to work within the salary cap now as well as in the future, so contracts would seem to dictate the 53 man roster to a large degree. So yeah, the HC would work with him on it, but ultimately the GM would have final say.
  19. Not so fast, not so fast. Row 1 of clubs becoming available may be of interest to some of the true Billievers here
  20. You cannot stop it with padded helmets. Padding will help prevent breaking the skull itself. The damage to the brain occurs when a sudden stop makes the brain hit the inside of the skull. The only way to stop that is to stop hitting things with your head.
  21. The perception of the team by whom? From hiring a coach and GM who combined have 0 games experience in their respective positions? People, other than Bills fans, are supposed to completely overlook the past 17 years and perceive the team as different now before the new guys are even at a camp for the first time? Some here will have their perception changed from the hires. But some have had their perception of the team change each of the last 17 years for one reason or another. Might be worthwhile to wait and see something ... anything ... before assuming anyone's perceptions are changing of a team that has played like the Bills have the better part of the past two decades.
  22. Not a chance in this world that happens. He kept both teams in Buffalo. He will be the beloved savior to many forever. It doesn't matter what the teams do.
  23. They are taking a shot and giving two rookies their chance. Can't say I'm excited. But I am certainly not nauseous like I was after the Pegulas hired Rex. Hopefully the Pegulas did better this time. The good news is, they pretty much had to do better this time, the last hire was so horrific. We'll start to see this season, and really see after the next draft and season.
  24. Install the myonebuffalo app on your phone and it will give you the code.
  25. Fire him? The Pegulas made him the president of their other team as well.
