  1. Yes I have, but not at the professional level. I have no doubt that GMs etc. make those kind of statements. Whether they mean it or just using it as a convenient excuse is a matter of conjecture. But in any event, I do find it both a ridiculous and humorous concept particularly when talking about adults (your Oilers reference might make sense because some in the AHL are kids). You seem to believe everything you read or hear, at least if it comes from a sports GM. And I am clueless.
  2. I don't know about Brandon anyway. His marketing resume could read "hey, the team sucked complete ass and was a league laughing stock for 10 years and I still managed to set a all time season ticket sales record". I'd hire him as a marketing guy. Modrak, yeah he's !@#$ed. But he probably leached enough off of Mr. Wilson to retire comfortably.
  3. Brady Freaking Quinn now huh. The current Bills regime may be viewed as being slow to make moves (like any slower and they would be in reverse), but the GM wanna-bes on here are so quick to pull the trigger on something, anything they would make moves before thinking them through even a little, much less completely. But the what-ifs can be entertaining ... unlike the on field performance.
  4. If the next season is as bad as this one, and shows as much promise as this one, then they could (and should) be fired. Otherwise they will have at least 3 years (assuming they stay healthy).
  5. I always laugh when I read or hear this, no matter where it is. This perhaps is the biggest bunch of rationalization horseshit ever spewed in sports. Not about Peters in particular, just in general. Are the players 10 years old or are they professional athletes paid to do a job? One player is having contract issues with management. This is a business above all else. It happens, deal with it. If the player in the dispute slacks off and it negatively affects the team, then kick his ass. I know most players aren't exactly rocket scientists, but I have to believe even they laugh when they read things like "bad locker room presence" and "distraction".
  6. Maybe he wants to be traded or released next.
  7. Based on that "performance" I'm glad I got my streaming solution to my TV figured out. I anticipate backouts almost the rest of the season. I ended up with atdhe.net because it would go out to full screen (albeit a standard definition full screen) to my laptop with the HDMI connection to the TV (audio and video). It ended up working pretty well.
  8. Roger, !@#$ you and the horse you rode to the Ralph on.
  9. There hasn't been one player in history that by himself is capable of turning this franchise around.
  10. I sure would in his place.
  11. Apparently not atdhe. Justin tv does but it looks non HD so that blown up on my TV will probably not look so great. Guess I will wait for more streams and look for the best HD one. Thanks!
  12. Are there any that let you go fullscreen with the video? I have the HDMI on my laptop working but the streams I have seen so far are a small fixed sized box.
  13. Check back here at about 12:45 and/or look at the sites mentioned above.
  14. If that's her in your avatar then uh yeah she is! But back on topic, it just hit me that even with the original posters kind offer I have no interest in attending a game this season, even for free. A sad realization.
  15. Unfortunately it has been the season ticket holders eating the @#$%burger for the last decade and counting.
  16. DirecTV handles the blackout thing via zipcodes. They send a list of blacked out zipcodes per channel (game) for the ticket. If your zipcode is not in the blackout list (and you were subscribed of course ) the receiver will show the channel. Back in the day you could change the zipcode on the smartcard to not be blacked out. Now I think the solution is to have someone outside this area who subscribes to the ticket put a extra receiver on their account and ship the receiver to you.
  17. Why do some people think unless you are a full-on homer "19-0 baby" person you cannot be a fan of a team? Weird. There is always hope that things can get turned around. But for 10 years the front office has been inept (and that timeline is very kind to the FO). It is far too early in the tenure of the good ole boys to call them a success or a failure. But so far what have they really done? 1) Released their starting QB (who many say should have never been in the first place) and are now starting the career backup. And they filled the void with a 7th round pick who was cut during training camp and not picked up by anyone else. 2) Traded one of their three running backs for a 4th and a 5th/6th conditional pick. And arguably one of the few players on the team in any position who is a NFL caliber starting player. Don't get me wrong, this was the right move in my opinion. 3) Switched to a 3-4 defense (on paper anyway, but they seem to play a 4-3 a lot still). Probably a good long term move, but they do not have the players to pull it off right now. What else? Nothing really comes to mind. I think almost anyone here could have figured out those 3 things before training camp started. Not 3 or 4 weeks into the regular season. To say I am underwhelmed so far would be an accurate statement. I am a Bills fan, for better or for worse. If I choose to see the warts and talk about them makes me no more or less of fan than those that choose to billieve that Nix and Gailey are the best in the business and thought that the Bills clearly would have a better record this season than last. Give the good ole boys some time. I think it is clear that they are not stupid when it comes to football. I for one will give them a fair chance. But at the same time I will not stick my head in the sand for 3 more years either.
  18. I wonder what King Rogers goon squad would think about that.
  19. TitanTV still shows it on in Rochester as well, but clearly it will not be. Their database probably just has not been updated yet.
  20. Yes you should be able to.

  22. The pinto will still be there at least
  23. That is correct and well explained. CBS affiliates in Syracuse cannot air the game. What about DirecTV sunday ticket? It gets blacked out in Rochester and Buffalo. What about Syracuse?
  24. I have been apathetic for a few years now so 2-16 or 0-16 is little difference to me. They suck, they are (hopefully) rebuilding with guys who (hopefully) have their heads out of their asses. Time will tell. C'est la vie But I have been wondering the past week or so if they could do the Oh-fer. Before the season started I would have said no way. It is a tough schedule, but there was still the Browns, Chiefs, and Lions on it. But the Browns beat the Bengals, and the Chiefs and Lions both look better than us so far. If the Bills lose to the Jags Sunday, and if it is not a squeaker, I'd say we have a pretty reasonable chance at the un-perfect season.
  25. WTF????? Her first game and no tailgating at all? That's 90% of the fun (maybe 99.99% this season). What kind of a son are you?
