  1. Come on you guys, quit with all the "the media hates Buffalo" **** please. Look, when Tampa doesn't sell out it is not news because it is a frequent occurrence. The Tampa fans blow and everyone already knows it. When it happens in Buffalo, a blue collar football loving city that historically has sold out even throughout the decade of suck, it is news. Simple as that. Quit crying and grow a pair.
  2. He killed people? Damn, I am out of touch. I thought he abused dogs.
  3. I believe the announced attendance was 58K. But the NFL doesn't care about fair at all. If they did they would not have the whole "secondary market" policy, and would not declare Syracuse a blackout area because one of its TV stations can get a faint signal to a few houses in the Rochester area. They care if the stadium is full of people spending money or not ... period.
  4. It was almost halftime when it dropped out and it was on again by the start of the 3rd and stayed the rest of the game.
  5. Boy that has the potential to be one Fugly game. I hope you will have plenty of Tito's available to dull the pain
  6. So far I am very unimpressed with what Nix and Gailey have (not) done so far. That being said, there is no reason to believe there is any chance of either one being fired just for the sake of firing them. If Ralph has someone "better" lined up that will accept either job then fine. But what's the point of firing one or both of the good ole boys if you will end up with someone worse than they are.
  7. Kickers, Spiller, and one of the QBs as a backup, probably Fitz but at a reduced price. Everyone else would be in play for the right price.
  8. That is ultimately the question isn't it. I would not want him on "my" team, but I say no. He served out his punishment. If someone wants to hire him to run around throwing a ball I say why not. I must say it is nice to be able to disagree with someone and be able to discuss it without it degenerating to name calling. Thank you.
  9. Spend how much money on the ticket to see a couple blacked out games? Thanks for the info but I'll stream to my laptop and HDMI out to the TV for free.
  10. I would certainly hope that a person of Mr. Wilsons intelligence and advanced years already has a plan for after he passes. A 92 year old just starting to think about that now makes no sense to me. As to the 2 rationalizations in the last paragraph about ex-Bills in the HOF and the Toronto-Buffalo corridor, that all sounds nice. But it is my belief that the other team owners, who I believe have a say as to any sale of the Bills, will do whatever they feel will make them the most money. Bills in the HOF or geographical considerations be damned. Mr. Wawrow obviously has more insights into the Bills as an organization and Mr. Wilson as a person than I would ever hope to. But unless Mr. Wilsons new plan includes a way to make all of the owners more money, or includes a way to skirt the other owners having a say in the sale, I just don't see it happening. But I'd be happy to be wrong!
  11. You also have made good points and express yourself well. And your main point is where we happen to disagree. The whole "image of the league" thing trumping the concept of a free market economy is what I have a problem with. I agree with your points 2 and 3 above and feel that's how it should work. If a particular owner/GM feels a felon (or any other player) is a good enough player to bring them on board, then they should have that right. If a fan or group of fans for that team objects, then try and "change the teams mind" in whatever way they choose. Including like you mentioned the one that carries the most weight, in their wallets. Most fans have short memories. The people of Philly for example may detest what Vick did as well as the man himself. But if he took them to the superbowl most would forgive and forget. The same is true for Buffalo and all other sports towns. Not all fans mind you, but most. At the end of the day It's all about winning.
  12. I still say you have to ask Palin to use that word so that it gets into the dictionary.
  13. Seems only fair. The Bills have been given strong doses of reality the last 5 weeks as well.
  14. Well, they haven't banned him yet so ...
  15. The stadium parking lots open at 8 (or is it 9 now?) and close 2 hours after the game ends. The red pinto (lot 1) "ketchup ceremony" is usually at 11:15 I believe. Hopefully you are going to the Lions game. The Steelers game will be a sea of black and gold and not as much fun for a Bills fan.
  16. What I found interesting so far is this: So basically put a fork in this season. Sending the GM to scout QBs instead of your scouts is interesting though. Drafting the next QB could be Nix's defining moment as a Bills GM. I suspect he wanted to do the leg work on this one himself rather than trust any of his scouts.
  17. I understand completely what you are saying. But what is it about football that makes you think it should be put up on a pedestal? Is it the fact that they make a buttload of money? Is it the fact that you find what Vick in particular did repugnant? You are correct in that no NFL owner would have to hire him, any more than they have to hire an old out of shape person like me. But if one did (and one did, actually) why should King Roger not allow it? What is it about the NFL that you think that as an organization they should ban a person from playing even if a team wants him, because he committed a crime in his past? It is a form of entertainment that people enjoy watching. It has no more inherent value than that and it should be treated a such. Convicted felons are allowed to make movies, sell audio CDs, etc. etc. Why not play a sport, even a sacred one like American Football? In fact I believe it is you who is conflating two very separate concepts. I never said the NFL should be forced to hire Vick or anyone else. I just make the case that if a team did wish to hire him after knowing of his criminal past, they should be able to. Simple as that. [Hmmm. How did we manage to hijack a thread titled "I apologize again" into another should Vick be allowed to play? ]
  18. Pathetic perhaps, but in his heart he was trying to do something positive. I know I'm reaching but it's the best I could come up with! Hehehe ....
  19. Resigning Kelsey ... wait wait, before you tar and feather me let me explain. I think Kelsey is/was a marginally acceptable DE and a simply horrible LB. But, Nix is trying to sign and keep what he considers to be his core players and then build a team around them via the draft. Given the fact that he really doesn't have many (any?) good players to consider his core, I can at least say he is trying to so something positive.
  20. My 11 year old still holds out hope for this But you have to forgive him, his entire life has been the decade of suck.
  21. I find this attitude puzzling. Not from the dog lover perspective, but from a criminal justice one. In the United States, if you are convicted of a crime and serve out your punishment you are supposed to be given the same rights as any other citizens (special cases like pedophiles aside). You certainly are free to pursue employment. Why do you put playing football (or any sport) somehow above this principle?
  22. Let's be fair, he did give away a old special teams trick yesterday where a kicker will intentionally make the ball fall off the tee after a re-kick to give the players a chance to catch their breath Yeah he sucks, but think about it. How many people watch Bills games any more? He has to be doing that job almost for free. Why should a network pay more for someone to announce to such a small audience?
  23. Dude, he is a little (and I do mean little) scatback. He is not a between-the-tackles kind of guy. There is no way he is big enough to run through anyone, he has to dance around them.
  24. Work ethic and good attitude are wonderful qualities in a player (or any person really). But every player and coach on your team can have these traits and you will still go 0-16 without talent.
  25. Hey the game started great and they were in it at halftime! The 2nd half not so much.
