SI's Jeff Pearlman should be ashamed.
CodeMonkey replied to BillsFanForever19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
OK I will try one more time then give up. Someone asked what the point of the SI article was. I replied that the point of the article was to state that Buffalo is a toilet (and generally make fun of Merriman going there). I then stated that if you objectively compared the two cities it would be difficult not to come to the same conclusion. I never stated that Buffalo was a toilet, just when comparing it to SD (for whatever reason) it would appear that way ... at least to me. Ive traveled a lot as well. And I agree there are far far worse places on the planet than Buffalo. San Diego just does not happen to be one of them in my opinion. -

That is very true. -

The point was to bash the city and make fun of Merriman going there and generally be a dick doing it. And no, it was not nice. -

Geez, overreact much? He asked what the point of the article was and I told him. I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings but location, scenery, food (except maybe bar food like wings), weather, economy in general etc. etc. SD is simply a nicer place to live than Buffalo. I'm not being spiteful, just stating my opinion on the matter. And here I sit in WNY. Go figure. -

Buffalo is a toilet pretty much in every way compared to San Diego. If you have spent any time in SD it is difficult to disagree. -
Is Shawn Merriman to good for Buffalo?
CodeMonkey replied to Another Point of View's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If the Bills didn't put in a claim, the other 2 interested teams were Miami and Tampa. In his shoes I would be disappointed to be going to Buffalo as well. He doesn't have to be happy about it, but as you said he has all the incentive in the world to play well the rest of the season. I wouldn't count on him being in Buffalo next season though unless no other team makes him an offer. -
I've never tried any, but it must be amazing stuff. I remember seeing an interview where some Doctor said if you gave him any reasonably healthy adult male, 8 or 9 months, and no rules (i.e. roid use OK) and he could give you someone winning Mr. Universe or some other big body building contests. Wild stuff.

A neat trick seeing as how Merriman by all accounts isn't playing this Sunday

What if Merriman doesn't report
CodeMonkey replied to The Cincinnati Kid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He really has nothing to lose and a lot to gain by coming to Buffalo. If nothing else he gets to show why someone should offer him a contract for next season. I fully expect him to show up. Happy or not. -
Where are all the people who in the past have been outraged by Vicks dog torture and Pig Bens alleged rape? Where are all the people who thought dumping Lynch was a great move because of his legal problems? Doesn't choking a woman and holding her prisoner count? The charges were dropped in a week (unlike Pig Ben who never had charges filed in the first place)and personally I don't think it should matter as far as playing football is concerned. But I'm curious why people aren't outraged by Merriman being a Bill now?

Bears Fans are pretty pessimistic too

For whatever reason the Ravens and Chiefs pulled their gameplans out of their asses and decided they were going to pass instead of running the ball down the Bills throats. If Chicago makes that same mistake we have a very good chance. If they don't this game will be like any other where the opponent has a good running game and uses it. -
Out of state, out of Country "home" game: Toronto Biils Game
CodeMonkey replied to San-O's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's very simple. Having a game in Toronto helps the ticket prices for true home games, including season ticket prices, to stay so low. And at the same time puts some nice guaranteed cha-ching into the old mans pocket. It was a very good business move, albeit a very poor football one (except as noted below). And since the games are outside the US, it also satisfies the NFL's "overseas" rule that put the SF game for example in England last week. That is a very good football move for the Bills as the travel to/from Europe must throw the normal training schedule right down the crapper. -
[closed]We don't need Merriman, We don't need Moss
CodeMonkey replied to Chuckknox's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
To learn what? It's about as basic of an offense as there is. -
After B word slapping the spread the past 2 weeks, this one looks a lot more reasonable. I think that in Buffalo the Bills win this one outright in a squeeker. In Toronto, it could go either way. No bet this week.

Time for NFL to ban Time out just before Kick!
CodeMonkey replied to turbobike's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
And if it had been the reverse situation and the Bills had won the game by doing that most people here would be praising Gailey for his game management. I do, actually, like your plan with a concrete number of seconds left on the playclock and would be for it. It gets old and annoying the way it is. A football game drags on as it is without that adding to it. -
What time is EDT 1pm and is that when the game is on?

watch Bills online today?
CodeMonkey replied to drinkTHEkoolaid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thanks. Looking for HD links to stream to my TV for the remaining home games. I suspect most will not sell out unless a miracle happens and the Bills win a few games. Check just before gametime. -
The Bills B word slapped the spread last week. I think I take KC and give the points. But not a huge bet.

I have liked this site for a few years now. I watch it mostly for hockey but it is fun for football too. According to this site, if the Bills win out at this point, they have a 68.3% chance of making the playoffs. If they win only 9 of their remaining games, this drops to 10.6%. Before all the homers start complaining and talking about this stat or that stat or "buying into the system", this is just for fun. But for hockey at least, it has been pretty accurate the past few years. Bills Playoffs Chances

My first prediction in 20 years
CodeMonkey replied to DIE HARD 1967's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I haven't figured that entire game out yet myself. The Ravens have a good running offense and they are playing a defense that couldn't stop the run the entire season so far if their lives depended on it. So what do they do ... pass most of the time, particularly on first down. It was like they were trying to lose or something. Weird. Or maybe Rocco had a lot of money on the Bills covering last week
