WVAU TV Marcel Dareus arrested-edit-again
CodeMonkey replied to Punch's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My father died of brain cancer about 2 years ago after suffering (chemo etc) for 18 months. My brother died this past December. Not murdered, but it was completely unexpected. I did get over it. And do you know why? Because I had to. I have a family to support and I do not make millions of dollars a year and get half the year off. In my opinion you sound like a over the top bleeding heart liberal ... or maybe just when it comes to Bills players. It's life, bad things happen. You need to pick yourself up (and not reply on someone else to do it for you), dust yourself off and get on with your life. Yeah it sucks, and yeah it hurts, but for gods sake its not the end of the world. Time to grow up. But more than likely he was just likes pot but couldn't smoke it because of the drug testing coming up. Which should be legal and allowed everywhere and not specifically banned by the NFL like I think you stated earlier because it is not performance enhancing. -
I hear ya. But consider this. Being "all in" with Manuel is going to be a defining moment for Whaley and Marrone. So ask yourself, does Ebron or Lewan give Manuel enough help to make him succeed this season? Both would help, but not nearly as much, in my opinion, as a stud WR. Right now the Bills have no #1 WR and my belief is that Whaley and Marrone recognize that they need one, and that 2 are available.

Vastly different. But my point is that PigBen was never even charged of a crime then, much less convicted of one and was still suspended. Roger has considerable leeway in these situations it seems. -

I don't know. PigBen wasn't even arrested I believe and he got suspended, right? Hard to say what King Roger will do here. -

That's all well and good. But what ever happened to being responsible for your own actions? Do you think every employer should take a "solutions oriented approach" when every employee has problems? Or is it just for multimillionaire athletes? I don't mean to gang up on you (or C.Biscuit for that matter), but the whole "no one is responsible for their own actions, everyone needs to be coddled" (particularly athletes) attitude of our society these days is a hot button for me. -

No. That's why he gets HIMSELF help if he needs it. Lots of people have hard lives. He does not now. He gets paid millions of dollars a year to play a game, and has half of the year free to do whatever he wants whenever he wants to do it. So do not expect me to cry a river for any of these spoiled athletes when they get caught doing something stupid. And smoking this spice crap is just plain stupid. People need to stop making excuses for these guys because that is part of their problem. He certainly has the time and the means, so if he needs help with anything he just needs to take responsibility for himself, grow a pair, and get it. -
No one will want SJ with his current contract. If the Bills cut him I expect lots of teams to be interested, but with a much more reasonable (i.e. cheaper) contract.

I was at a high school track meet last night and overheard two older guys talking. One asked about the draft and the other said he has already put all of his Bills stuff, jerseys, pictures, everything he has in a box. When the first guy asked why, the other responded "so that when the Bills take Manziel I can burn it all quickly and be done with the team forever".

Why do YOU think the Bills will finish below .500?
CodeMonkey replied to ThurmasThoman's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think it is way to early for anyone to do anything but guess. But my guess is, if Manuel and Marrone have considerably better years than their rookie campaigns then the Bills stand a decent chance of hitting the elusive 8-8. If either of them do not significantly improve, it will be another very long season for the Bills Nation. -

Guess the Bills better trade him for next to nothing before he gets a big suspension like Lynch -
Uh oh. Sucker move has Bills written all over it. But having read the cost, if the Bills did this as stated in the article I'd turn off the TV immediately and start drinking heavily.

Peter King: Bills love the ODB jr.
CodeMonkey replied to FluffHead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well if Whaley believes this as well and he can get this guy at #9, or better still trade down and still get him then fantastic! But the Bills certainly can't afford a whiff on this, so he better be pretty damn sure. -
A very logical mock in my opinion. Which means it must be waaaaaaaaaaaay off!

i don't know. The Bills seem to be fully stocked with #2 and #3 receivers. Why get another one? -
Depends upon if you believe in an afterlife I guess

Possible, with the logic being Mrs. Wilson would want to give extra time for local groups to get financing arranged. But I think the sale is 98% decided already. There are just the formalities like the date of death valuation etc. to do. There is still some scrambling with people like Jim Kelly trying to put together something with Trump etc.but I suspect these are just desperate attempts. It's not like Mr. Wilsons passing was out of the blue. All serious contender(s), local and otherwise, have had their ducks in a row for quite some time and are just following the required process at this point. We should know within the next couple of months.

If they have 3-4 realistic guys (i.e not Clowney) odds are at least 1 would still be there at #9 and they would not have to trade up. But yeah if Whaley has his heart set on either Watkins or Evans for example, he will have to move up to have a shot.

Building a winning football team

Coaching alone can't do it. You also need talent. For example, Scotty Bowman could have been the Sabres coach last season and they still would have sucked and ended up in last place. -
What are your draft day plans this year?

Fixed it for you, and congrats! -

i watch the #1 overall, then the Bills first, then the Bills second. Channel surfing during the others. And that's it. All from the comfort of my couch I surf back to the draft a lot in the first in case the Bills trade up. I want to party with you my friend -
EJ Manuel Consults Big Names on how to Lead

So EJ went safe with the favorite and Wood is a gamblin' man. I can see that! -

The theory was he could not be traded with his current contract (#1 money). But teams would want him for a #2 or a #3 while paying accordingly.
