  1. You and I have had discussions in the past about the lease and who brings who to court etc, so no need to rehash any of that here. But as to the bolded I think you are spot on. These guys are career politicians and the last thing they want to be known for going into their next bid for reelection is the guy that rolled over and played dead and let the Bills move without a fight. Even if they know it is a sure loss, they will put up the biggest fight they can if only for appearances sake.
  2. Yup so that when he !@#$s up royally like he did (actually still in progress) in Rochester and that company get's it's ass sued off by Monroe County (also in progress) his other endeavors as well as his personal assets are sheltered.
  3. His track record is lukewarm at best. And if Erie County asks Monroe County it's game over. Congel as far as I can tell has all his experience in shopping centers which have some of the same concerns as stadiums such as traffic flow, but they are obviously very different beasts. But, Golisano is no dummy and I am sure he is well aware of the Medley Centre fiasco in Rochester. I have to believe he knows what he is doing.
  4. Of course this is true. I'm not an NFL historian so I will ask, has there ever been a time that an owner wanted to move a team and the NFL said no?
  5. That's the thing about Page, he doesn't care if it's a big or small endeavor. He also is not looking for the path of least resistance. If he, and based on past history only he, thinks it is in the teams best interest to stay in WNY he will keep them there. If at any point he decides it is no longer in the teams best interest, he will move the team. He has no problem making big decisions and following through with them.
  6. .Think bigger ... Google self driving cars to take all the drunks home after the game
  7. Page is absolutely a "my way or the highway" kind of guy. If you are familiar with how Steve Jobs ran Apple, that's how Page runs Google. He has brains, balls and is the kind of guy who doesn't mess around. He demands to win, period. All of this can be good for the Bills. But Page is like Trump in that if conditions are favorable for relocation and he thinks it is in the best interest of the team to do so, he will pull the trigger without hesitation, regardless of the initial cost of relocation. If he becomes the owner it will be an interesting ride to be sure.
  8. And that's a big part of the problem. Things are reduced, forgiven etc their entire lives then people act all surprised when these guys !@#$ up.
  9. Yes I guess those 5 day test matches (I think they are called) can be brutal.
  10. Oh I see. Tailgaters are a bunch of alcoholic assclowns being douchebags and pissing/puking all over each other. And everyone else isn't a tailgater. Yikes. No wonder things are the way they are.
  11. I don't see the Bills signing him now. For it to make sense for the Bills it would have to be a team-friendly contract that would be attractive enough to be able to trade Spiller if it comes to that, or worst case cut him without substantial penalty (i.e. little to no guaranteed money). But there is no reason for Spiller to sign a team-friendly contract like that at this point.
  12. Great seats. You can see everything from there. Congrats!
  13. Or some adult male Bills fans at the Ralph parking lot before a game genuinely harassing 10-12 year old kids for wearing the opponents jersey that I witnessed. Oh, and the kids were with their mother in the parking lot. Pretty sad to see.
  14. I don't know man. A good high quality HD jumbotron like they make now, and people getting to tailgate before away games as well as home games. It could work.
  15. There are 7 guys from India training with me here in the US now. They are big cricket fans as most are there, but none have any interest in going to a baseball game while here. They find it too slow of a game to be enjoyable.
  16. I'm surprised they are calling it "football" as that will no doubt confuse a lot of people there. I work with people in India including a couple in Bangalore. I'm going to have to see what they know about it and if they can get more than t-shirts and hats. Its a little weird as they seemed to have played some games in 2012, a couple in 2013 and then abruptly stopped. Apparently didn't even finish all of the scheduled games in 2013. http://www.efli.com/season2/schedule Very true. Not even "real" football (soccer). Badminton is probably the 2nd favorite.
  17. I would love to see more tailgating .. REAL tailgating meaning cooking out with friends and family and enjoying the day before going into the stadium to watch the game. Without the moron power drinkers, and the stupid !@#$ing !@#$s that think it makes them a man by harassing kids and others because of the jersey they are wearing. But unfortunately in Buffalo I don't see that happening any time soon. Let the !@#$s go to the bars.
  18. So you would rather the Bills move than have a domed stadium. Interesting.
  19. Plus who the F cares if you like his music or not. It matters not when talking about owning a NFL team.
  20. Couldn't. Erie county already retained them in case the Bills try and move
  21. The Stones played at the Ralph once. Maybe Jagger could buy the Bills for his great granddaughter.
  22. Exactly. I saw what that did to my Dad a few years ago and he does seem to have weathered it very well all things considered. Hopefully he kicked it's ass for good this time.
  23. Isn't most of what we are hearing rumor at this point? Aside from the Bills being for sale and Jim Kelly wanting to keep them in Buffalo, not much else is concrete from what I recall. Like this whole thread isn't the same old ****?
  24. Hilarious. Like JBJ is buying the team himself. He apparently is hooked up with one of the Toronto groups. If boycotting him makes you feel like you are doing something then go for it. But don't expect it to change a thing or even have him notice. Besides can you blame him? If you were not from WNY and had a chance to own a team. And your choices for an out of town destination game weekends etc. was Buffalo or Toronto, which do you choose?
  25. You can put all the hotels, "patriot place" things you want in Buffalo but it is all pointless without a stable, strong economy. Talking about these things now is putting the cart way before the horse.
