I don’t think this has any bearing on Hughes’ decision. I think Hughes is close to his ceiling, and would be wise to enter the draft. I don’t see how another season at Cuse is going to help him. Worst case scenario he plays d-league or overseas while he finishes his degree. I think the next few recruiting classes are going to be good ones. Despite Carey, Washington and Goodine leaving, we’re going to be loaded at guard for the next few years. Edit: Good summary here of 2021-22 targets. Worth noting that Dior Johnson (commit) and Chance Westry (near lock to commit) are both possibly reclassifying to 2021. Kadary Richmond, Woody Newton and possibly a grad transfer in the 2020 class. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.syracuse.com/orangebasketball/2020/02/syracuse-basketball-recruiting-see-highlights-and-notes-for-sus-2021-2022-targets.html%3foutputType=amp

Howard Washington and Jalen Carey transferring as well. I guess I’m ambivalent about all 3 of them. I like Washington as a pure back up PG, but Carey was just not good. Goodine has potential and played solid D, but he wasn’t going to get more than 8-10 min/game next year anyway. Here’s to hoping that K Rich is as advertised.

Carey has proven that he can’t handle the ball under pressure. I think JG3 could play SG, but he’s fat and away our best option at PG.
-
I think he will ride pine, transfer or disappear. JG3 is our PG moving forward.

Sucks. I liked Goodine a lot. But he was going to be stuck in a log jam for PT for his college career. He’s not a dependable PG, and his shot isn’t there yet. He did flash on defense, IMO. IMO, Washington proved to be the #2 pure PG behind Girard. With Richmond coming in 2020, Dior Johnson coming in ‘21 or ‘22, and Westry a distinct possibility for ‘22...Goodine would have been buried on the depth chart. Would he be happy with 8-10 minutes/game next season? I doubt it. I think he made a good decision for himself.

She rang the bell at Upstate Cancer Center in September, thank you. Little girl has been through more than just about anyone I have known. Survivor. And a budding ? fan. I took her to her first ‘Cuse lacrosse game last week. I get what you’re saying. Cheers ?

Fair enough. I don’t think your fears are warranted, as I don’t think there is any wrong doing taking place here. I hope not. I guess reading the criticism hit me on a personal level. You see, when my 2 year old niece was diagnosed with and was undergoing horrible treatment for liver cancer, Adam Weitsman not only donated his 4 season tickets for a silent auction at her benefit, he and his wife both came to the benefit and also donated (behind the scenes) $5,000 to my sister and brother in law toward their medical/travel expenses. I only shook his hand and said thank you and go ?, but he made a point to say hello and talk to just about everyone at the benefit. He doesn’t know my family. He just heard about my niece on the news and took it upon himself to help. He is a very kind human being and very down to earth. I sincerely hope everything with him and the university/basketball program is on the up and up, and I guess I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt until I learn otherwise.

I appreciate what Gore has done here, but I don’t want to keep him. I think we can do better.

Come on, dude. You’ve been bad mouthing the guy in this thread since Saturday. You also made the assertion that he “definitely” paid Brady, Edelman and Fallon to come to the game. What do you have against him?

Whatchu talkinbout Willis?

I think you’re taking a leap here without having any substantial information, and it is growing tiresome. He’s been absolutely clean since 2004. Can you cite any other specific transgressions? For those who don’t know what he is talking about. https://wbng.com/2019/12/19/weitsman-to-turn-former-davis-college-property-into-elite-basketball-academy/ How would this reflect poorly on the Syracuse basketball program in any way?

Your persistent mischaracterization of AW is a bit odd. Yes, he did get in trouble a while ago for check fraud, and it was a big deal, but the guy has really cleaned up his act and does a lot of really great stuff in the Syracuse community. He made donations on their behalf to local charities. https://weei.radio.com/blogs/ryan-hannable/story-behind-tom-brady-julian-edelman-at-syracuse-game “I talked to Tom first," Weitsman said. "I had never met Julian and I had never met Jimmy Fallon. Tom invited them, and none of these guys profited anything to come up there. They are all about charity. We did some stuff with the Boys and Girls Club and the Rescue Mission, the big charities I represent up there.

Indeed. Hopefully we don’t draw UNC in the 1st round of the ACC tourney. I haven’t watched the game yet, as my son had a hockey game tonight. What happened to Joe G?
