  1. You would think after spending months on this board before starting my own thread- and watching other posters make those kind of mistakes- that I would have learned to come strong and would have done a better job with that stuff. Nadda. Booo to me!
  2. D'oh! I fixed it right away, but the grammar police got to it first...
  3. http://www.buffalonews.com/2010/05/26/1062...-fills-new.html I'm sure many of you have read this, but it's worth pointing out that he really seems to be embracing his new roll. Even though we shouldn't have to sing the praises of someone doing his job, especially when he's making millions, it was still nice to read.
  4. I know it sounds like I'm undervaluing his contribution, but living here in Atlanta and being failrly familiar with the team it was obvious to me that what REALLY made that team click was the existing players being allowed to play their game in a better environment with a better coach and with a restructured front office that included the sharp football mind of Thomas Dimitrov. I would venture to say that if another servicable QB was swapped in for Ryan that season that they still would have been much much better than their previous year's record with the same players (Baker was injured much of his rookie year if I remember correctly and therefore didn't have that much of an impact), all due to the fact that a better coach was brought in and the front office become more stable. IMO, the subtraction of Dick Jauron and the addition of a new (HOPEFULLY better) coach, along with having Nix, a football guy, making football decsions, should alone be enough for us to exceed many of the "experts" predictions. Not saying we don't need a better QB for the long haul, but under the topic "This team is going to be better than most think" I think there's relevant precedent and reason for optimism.
  5. Not that this is an apples to apples comparison, but look at a team like Atlanta. Sure, Matt Ryan helped matters, but the team as a whole played much better after they Patrino left and Mike Smith came in. Talent was there, just nobody knew about it because the environment was so toxic the year before. Everyone thought they had no line, etc. But suddenly they took off. With better coaching and, in theory, better management we could be decent. Is "decent" a 7-9 year with this schedule? Maybe. But I don't think we're a 1-15 team.
  6. Duff's (of course), downtown for drinks/cigars, the Falls Casino, Canadian Ballet! Oh, wait, sorry, that was my bachelor party! Taking them to Hard Rock? Come on. That's terrible.
  7. I'm looking at the seaon this way: If we suck and win 1-4 games then we'll get a chance at our overdue stud QB. But if Chan and Company work their magic and we do well, then all is good. Good, promising season of a franchise QB. I feel good. I feel good.
  8. What strikes me is that, for what it's worth (didn't spend time looking at the methodology), we don't have a player in the Top 50 on this list. Not new news, and we all know our OT's aren't tops in the league, but this is just depressing to look at.
  9. I'm excited to see how his season (and career) work out. Great article by ESPN's Tim Graham.
  10. Things have changed. I live in Atlanta and can buy Molson and Labatt at my local grocery store (not WF though... that would be awesome!). Heck, I recenlty saw Labatt in New Orlenas at a couple of spots...
  11. So, um, how about that CJ Spiller?!!....
  12. I don't know anything about the guy, and I don't claim to be a 3-4 DEF expert, but Troup looks like a big, solid guy who eats space in the middle... which is what I think we need. If Cody was great someone else would have taken him by now.
  13. +1 They're going to have a bunch of options. Like with our #9 spot, I can make the case for a number of guys. Would love a LB or LT, but if Clausen happens to be there it's hard to NOT roll the dice. I'm excited! This is more fun that I thought it was going to be. FYI, I'm a GT season ticket holder and saw plenty of Spiller in person. I understand the debate over the pick, but the dude can flat out run the ball. I'm excited about the pick.
  14. I will do backflips if we can get Thomas after the first couple of rounds. I'm a GT season ticket holder and the guy is incredible. I'd also be happy with Morgan with our #1, depending on who else is there.
  15. I would like to have Thigpen in the mix, but it's not going to happen. If he's actually a solid talent, Parcels will not let him go, espcially to a division opponent. And if he is willing to let him leave, that probably means he's not that good.
  16. I know that we most definitely need to draft someone other than Spiller/RB in the first round spot because we want to build the lines, etc. But wow it's hard to pass on Spiller here. The guy is instant offense. Whoever we pick better be really good or we're going to regret passing on CJ...
  17. Chan Gailey would be just another Dick Jauron hire. Speaking as an 11 year Georgia tech season ticket holder I can tell you that fans felt the same way about Chan Gailey as Bills fans felt about Dick Jauron. He's conservative and plays it safe all the time. He's boring and uninspiring. I don't like to give knee jerk reactions to things, but if this is true it will severly impact the level of emotional and financial support I will give to this team. Hiring Chan would be horrible. Hopefully Russ has leaked this to put us into panic mode, making the eventual announcement of coach "X" a relief instead of feeling like we've settled?? I'm grasping here, I know.
  18. This joke tweet is really just poking fun at Lane Kiffin for jumping around, not a shot at the Bills.
  19. and this is great too... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=URaBENN4sFo
