  1. I've been trying to not weigh in on this but am just getting sucked in. There are two things about this story that I think are pertinent. First, it's obvious that deflating the balls, if it actually happened, didn't affect the outcome of the game. Second, if the assertion is true, the first point is largely irrelevant because willful, deliberate actions to circumvent the rules should be dealt with. There is absolutely no excuse for that behavior. Again, no idea if it's true. But if so, the damage to the integrity of the "game" if far greater than the impact in the game.
  2. Hah!! What's the bandwagon fan base ranking? 1) New England 2) Seattle 3) Miami 4) Carolina (just bandwagon in everything but college hoops) 5) Los Angeles
  3. I think "Ground and Pound" is just a silly branding term. It's largely meaningless. More importantly is the ability to both pass and run and use those at the right times versus the right opponents. Seattle is the perfect example. Green Bay has made a big effort to run more. I know we are going to hear about Ground and Pound until we are so sick of the term, but I think it's just yak yak.
  4. I just assumed that but you're right. Unfortunately we can't hire BB.
  5. Just out of curiosity, what super bowl winning, high win percentage, recently successful nfl coach did you want the bills to hire?
  6. Has anybody ever seen Lombardi1 and Doug Marrone in the same place?
  7. I like this outlook. You have to hope that the front office is going to leave no stone unturned to find a capable QB. I don't know that it'll work, but it's worth a try. PS - Kurt
  8. I don't really agree with this statement. It's pretty easy to say, in retrospect, that playing Orton didn't matter because we missed the playoffs. But in reality, playing EJ might have been worse both in the short-run and the long-run. I think people forget just how raw EJ was/is. While he was drafted in the first round, he was never supposed to start from Day 1. His rookie year was filled with injuries, beginning in the preseason. A raw kid like that could probably benefit from time around a veteran QB, which is why I think him sitting for the rest of the rest of the year and watching a veteran was EJ's best chance to be a better QB in the long-run. That doesn't necessarily mean EJ is going to suddenly be very good next year, but I think he has a better chance now that if he came back in week 12 and finished the season. Either way, both options don't really give EJ much of a chance to be great, but I don't understand how so many people think getting him back out this year would have been better for EJ or the Bills.
  9. Obviously the Bills would do it. 2015 2nd and 3rd. 2016 1st. Or almost whatever it takes from a Bills perspective. For the Saints, you could sort of make an argument that they should consider it. They suck in pretty much the suckiest division in the NFL. He's a huge cap committment. The issue I see (other than the fact that they would be trading away a franchise QB) is who takes his place? If the saints had a young guy they are grooming, I'd say maybe they'd consider it. But I don't think they do. So I can't see how they could trade Brees away.
  10. And either the Bengals or the Ravens to lose out.
  11. Well, what we need now is at least a Chiefs and Bengals loss. If those things happen and buffalo wins. Then next week we 'only' need a Bills win, Chiefs win at home vs SD and Pitt win at home vs Cincy.
  12. Ha! Can we petition to change divisions? We're pretty close to Detroit!
  13. So your standard is 100% accuracy? Fortunately we have a backup plan where we can use drones to kill someone without trials, questioning, and are guaranteed to only kill that person and not kill or injure anyone else. And like I said earlier, how is enhanced interrogation 'torture' or even wrong? There is nothing about it that i have heard that I would be concerned about. It was approved by the Senate, president, and cabinet. The DoJ found no evidence to prosecute.
  14. They were not tortured! They are not citizens of this country and not subject to law and rights under the constitution. They are cold blooded murderers and the tactics used directly led to us stopping future terrorist attacks and the killing of Bin Laden.
  15. Respectfully disagree with this entire response. Nothing about what was done was torture. Terrorists are not covered by any legal statute or international treaty. The only currency is strength, not feelings. It's been that way for centuries and will always be that way. Undermining ourselves because some pathetic leaders want to take advantage of this ridiculous trend of being ashamed of our position in the world is a pathetic development in this country. Frankly, it's scary. I have yet to have anyone explain to me what was actually improper about what was done. Or how that it is/was worse than sending in drones to kill targets and occasionally also truly innocent people.
  16. Why is what happened even wrong? If it was me, I'd use it as an example of the extent we will go to in order to protect this country. We kill terrorists via drones, we interrogate terrorists via some uncomfortable methods. It's war against a group of people with no protections via the Geneva convention and don't deserve any. Whatever works. The sooner we accept this the safer we will be. That's how serious people handle problems and the difference between real world solutions and coffee house/faculty lounge BS
  17. I don't typically post in these forums, but I'm completely outraged at this report and the release of it. I honestly can't see the value in it. Progressives are systematically trying to destroy this country. They live in a fantasy world that only exists because of serious people who protect them and the ability to question the methods in which they provide freedom. It's sickening.
  18. Here's a telling stat for me. Right now, the bills record against teams with: Better record: 1 - 3 Same record: 2 - 3 Worse record: 4 - 0 Last year we were 1-5 against teams with winning records. It's likely that after Marrones first two years are up, the Bills will only have 2 wins against teams with winning records in about 14 games. (Assumes we lose to the Pats again, the Packers, and neither the Browns or the Dolphins end the season with a winning record)
  19. The in game coaching decisions, coupled with the fact that we simply don't beat good teams is the nail in the coffin for me on Marrone. When you look at who we've beat, it's not pretty. Bears - bad team Dolphins - average team Lions - good team Vikings - bad team Jets - bad team Jets - bad team Browns - average team We've got one really good win this year. The rest are wins against average or bad teams. Last year we beat one playoff team, the Panthers. That was week 2. So unless we beat the Packers or Pats, The bills will have won 2 games agains playoff teams in 2 years. That's very bad.
  20. I think he might have just thought he had the yardage. 'obviously' they don't have that line on the field that we see in TV so it's probably not that difficult for a guy who never runs to gets lost out there. I dunno, grasping at straws maybe. Either way it was a horrible play.
