  1. The NFL has just gotten so unbearable to watch. Week in and week out there are horrible calls by officials trying to make themselves part of the game that have huge impacts on the outcome of the game. I don't think the games are fixed at all. Just guys really bad at their job.
  2. OY VEY! Here's the rule...how is a "faint, twitch" addressed in the rule. No player of offensive team may charge or move abruptly, after assuming set position, in such manner as to lead defense to believe snap has started. No interior lineman may move abruptly after taking or simulating a three-point stance.
  3. The Bills didn't lose because of that call. In fact, at this point I done even care about the call itself. What is preposterous is to actually look at that play and conclude Henderson committed a penalty. Read the rule, watch a game, stand still for more than 4 seconds. Nothing Henderson did remotely approached an infraction. After watching it about 25 times, I finally could see that his leg moved about a quarter of an inch at a very slow pace. That's not an infraction. If it is, according to you, then there is a false start on every play. Again, the rule doesn't state that a player has to freeze and can't move a muscle. Read it.
  4. Wow what? Where's the movement? More importantly, where's the movement that violates the rule? It's not even remotely close to a false start. Linemen are not supposed to be as still as a statue. Regardless , it's a moot point because we should have snapped the ball and ran a sneak, but Henderson definitely DID NOT false start. Defending horrible calls by refs makes no sense. Of any role in a game they should be the most accountable and held to the highest standard. They have no opposing force trying to prevent them from doing a good job. It blows me away how bad NFL officials are. No excuse.
  5. Here's the NFL Rule on False Starts. Digest of Rules Main Position of Players at Snap Offensive team must have at least seven players on line. Offensive players, not on line, must be at least one yard back at snap. (Exception: player who takes snap.) No interior lineman may move abruptly after taking or simulating a three-point stance. No player of either team may enter neutral zone before snap. No player of offensive team may charge or move abruptly, after assuming set position, in such manner as to lead defense to believe snap has started. No player of the defensive team within one yard of the line of scrimmage may make an abrupt movement in an attempt to cause the offense to false start. If a player changes his eligibility, the Referee must alert the defensive captain after player has reported to him. All players of offensive team must be stationary at snap, except one back who may be in motion parallel to scrimmage line or backward (not forward). After a shift or huddle all players on offensive team must come to an absolute stop for at least one second with no movement of hands, feet, head, or swaying of body. Quarterbacks can be called for a false start penalty (five yards) if their actions are judged to be an obvious attempt to draw an opponent offside. Offensive linemen are permitted to interlock legs. I've watched that play at least a dozen times. Henderson doesn't move anymore than a statue moves in 2 mph winds. Haha. Not even close to moving.
  6. Hah. There was plenty of blame to go around this week. I tend to cut players a little more slack than coaches because when 250lb beasts are running 4.5 40s and trying to kill you, it's easy to make a mistake here and there. Coaches on the other hand....not so much. On Marrone: 4th and 1 - run the QB sneak 1st and 10 from the 15 - if you know you're going to not kick a FG, then why not tell you're QB and coordinator to get a few yards each down. Instead 4 straight passes to the end zone makes no sense. Even if we scored, we leave KC plenty of time to respond.
  7. These recent posts, both in their content and their form, are a little over the top, no? No reasonable fan would ever suggest Orton was All Pro this week. No reasonable fan would ever suggest that Orton hasn't been a vast improvement over EJ in the games Orton started prior to the Chiefs game. No reasonable fan would disagree with the fact that there are only a few QBs in the league that deliver week in and week out. Maybe 3 or 4 of them. So what are you going on a tirade about?
  8. Unfortunately, this is how I feel as well. Hope we are wrong.
  9. You don't need to be athletic to take a snap from center and fall forward. Jeez. QB sneaks are about timing and direction. That's all. That's why they are nearly impossible to stop. You find the gap pre snap and the defense can't possibly react in time to stop the offense from gaining a a few feet.
  10. Again, not saying he's the second coming of Joe Montana. He's just the best we've got. He's decent. In the NFL this is what a decent QB does. Gives you good games and a few bad ones. Most QBs in the league are like this. Many have won superbowls. Eli, Alex Smith, Flacco, Cutler, Palmer, Dalton. All decent. Some good games, some bad ones.
  11. First, you can't take out games to make an argument. It is what it is. Second, EJ just doesn't get it yet. Not to say he won't, but the kid doesn't grasp the NFL game yet. I hope he learns, but Kyle sees the field, can make pre snap reads, and can make throws.
  12. Haha. It's a crappy situation. Buffalo should be 7-2 or 6-3 at worst. Now we've got a huge hill to climb. It sucks. But EJ all but guarantees we crap out and go 6-10 again. With Orton we at least have a chance (albeit a small one) to make the playoffs. Whatever happens, I think it's an open competition in the offseason and may the best QB win. Hopefully we bring in another QB to compete.
  13. That's certainly an option. To keep playing EJ. I'd argue that EJ is developing more by sitting and observing than getting thrown to the wolves week in and week out. As it stands now, Orton (IMO) is the best we've got by a mile and we ride it out.
  14. Haha. Exactly. Not much we can do but hope Orton gets the Bills to the playoffs. He's the best option by a mile for the rest of the year. As for next year, all bets are off.
  15. Dead serious, what would you like to see the Bills do at the QB position from here on out? If you were able to make Doug Whaley do whatever you wanted for the rest of the year but only as it pertains to the QB, what would you do?
  16. Ok. Who's the answer then? What's your plan? It's very easy to state the obvious in that Orton isn't the second coming of Kurt Warner. Not so easy to propose an actual viable alternative.
  17. Too many people must get their NFL edumication from Techmo Bowl. Thinking that if you call the right play it'll work no matter what. Hackett isn't an offensive genius but he's doin ok. Last week against the jets he did a good job of calling low risk plays in a game that the jets only chance was a big play on defense. The toughest tests are yet to come. I'm comfortable taking a wait and see approach to Hackett
  18. Probably. Was reading up on these bootleg sites and just seem like a Trojan Horse for viruses. Was hoping there was a reputable site that I could just pay for a single game. No luck. Just have to follow via ESPN game cast
  19. Hah. Nice. At least it wasn't that Peter Pan guy
  20. I'll be on a flight to the West Coast during game time. Flight has WiFi. Any possibilities that folks are aware of to watch the game via an iPad? I checked on the directv option but I think you need the Sunday Ticket and can't purchase a game a la carte. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
  21. Calvin Johnson!
  22. Pats lose in the AFC playoffs. These marginal moves don't change that.
  23. I would guess the rest of the team would rather win than be variables in the "EJ Experiment"
  24. Haha. Thanks. feels liberating
