Maybe you guys will be better
billsfan89 replied to Jimmy Spagnola's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
According to Rex Ryan the Jets should have 2 rings already last time I checked they have 0 under Ryan. -
Its a good victory for America. Also the guy who shot him must feel awesome to get that sob right in the eye. Even though its going to be decades before he can lay claim to it for safty reasons

Dareus Williams Edwards (Troup comes in on running downs Williams splits out to DE Carrington rotates in as well) Merriman Poz Sheppard Moats (would not be surprised if a couple free agents are brought in for depth or for MLB) Florence and Mckelvin for CB with Mcgee at Nickel and Williams at dime Byrd and Wilson at FS and SS Not a bad group if there can be some LBs brought into the mix

2008 Bills Draft- grade me now.
billsfan89 replied to buffan4life's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If Mckelvin can be a starting corner the draft is decent but if not its a bad draft if you get late round finds plus hit on your first rounder. But if you miss on all picks rounds 1-3 it van't be a good draft. -
Torell Troup, Kellen Heard, Michael Jasper
billsfan89 replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Jasper seems like a practice squad project a very interesting one but still he is a 7th round pick. -
Batten moving back to OLB
billsfan89 replied to Ghost of Rob Johnson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Team needs LB's but I think that Nix will dip into the free agency pool to grab a couple of veteran depth guys both at OLB and at MLB. -
It's pretty embarrassing, reading this board sometimes...
billsfan89 replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Its OK to be critical don't forget that but you still are a fan always remember that. This draft was good very good in fact. Free agency should address depth concerns (Linebackers still need to be added, and Fitz needs a backup) and maybe could fill a need (Tight end). -
Glaring weaknesses addressed, glaring holes remain
billsfan89 replied to trigger's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Defense took a huge step forward in the draft no doubt about it. Is the team still a year away? Yeah its hard to go from 4-12 to 12-4 but are they headed in the right direction? Yeah no doubt about it Dareus alone is a difference maker. We still have needs of course no one expected them to get filled all at once. However if the front office can find some quality depth LB's in free agency and maybe pick up a piece on offense (As well as a backup QB) this team has a shot to be .500 or better. Maybe not playoffs but on the upswing. Rome wasn't built in a day but if Dareus is an anchor for this teams front 7, Williams is a quality starter in the secondary, and Sheppard is a contributor in the LB core and a late round pick contributes than its looking like this draft is building the defense. -

billsfan89 replied to trigger's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There still exists glaring weakness in the Linebacking Core. Poz needs to be resigned and there still needs to be another MLB added to the mix as Davis is old and Sheppard is just a rookie. Also there still needs to be another OLB added to the mix Merriman is often injured, Kelsay sucks, and Moats is the only real reliable OLB on this team. This team needs 2 quality back up LB's added to the roster AND they need to resign Poz. D-line seems to be set (Although a backup DE wouldn't be a bad pick up just for depth). The secondary also seems set. But the D is far from a finished product it is severely short on LB's. Offensively there are some holes as well. RT and Tight end seem to be the major one. Throw in that if Evans isn't what he once was WR might be an area of concern. Sill if the O-line can gel and the young WR core can supplement Stevie and Lee the O can be a solid NFL offense. -
Round 5 (Pick 133): RB Johnny White - North Carolina
billsfan89 replied to Acantha's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The team needed a good 3rd running back for depth. It didn't need one in the earlier rounds but as a 5th round choice its not too shabby. Also supposedly this guy is good on special teams which we weren't that good on last season as well. -
Its improved good deep secondary and Dareus and Sheppard do help out the run D big time. Even if the team resigns Poz the team still needs to go out and some front 7 help in free agency. MLB should be addressed again in free agency so should OLB. Now they don't need anything major but two quality depth guys would do wonders as I think the LB core is still thin (Poz is injured, Sheppard is a rookie, Davis is old, Merriman is injured). Also think the D-line could maybe use a DE for depth. Once again nothing major but another solid veteran 3-4 DE player would help out big time. As Edwards is often injured and Carrington is an unknown.

Round 7 (Pick 245): DT Michael Jasper - Bethel (TN)
billsfan89 replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is a very interesting prospect. Definitely a player worth taking a chance on for a 7th round pick. The guy is a physical specimen but the guy didn't play in a major program so he seems very raw. -
51 years without picking a QB first
billsfan89 replied to BADOLBILZ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well Losman was a 1st rounder (Although not the first pick they made that year) and while you can blame the team for not investing enough at the QB position draft wise. However Dareus is a run stuffer and odds are the best player in the draft. So this year isn't the year to get on the organization for that. Also Fitz is a pretty decent QB and this years class seemed weak to me. -
Round 4 (Pick 122): OT Chris Hairston - Clemson
billsfan89 replied to Sisyphean Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Nice depth move but its hard to see the Guy coming in and starting right away but depth is always good and who knows what he could develop into -
Going to give them a B+ they hit a home run with dareus that's for sure. There were more pressing needs than CB but Williams was the best at his position and CB was not a complete luxery pick. Sheppard was a solid choice that filled a need. The only knock I have was that the williams pick could have addressed more pressing needs even though it was a good pick
-
Never Give Up you are good and reliable as always. Do you think that the Bills will be very active in free agency (Or at least try to be) on the offensive side of the ball? Their first three picks were defensive (As it should have been) BUT they still need Tackle and Tightend help. Not to mention that the defense could use some depth especially at LB.

Such an unfourtnate situation for him the guy was a sure fire first rounder now he is looking like a 3rd or 4th rounder

What Jaguars Vikings Titans and Panthers did for Buffalo

The one things for sure about teams qb needs is that nothings for sure. Teams qb situations change year to year -
why did ralph tell everyone we will draft a franchise qb?
billsfan89 replied to a topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think nix just talked him out of it. Dareus was the right pick -
Problem is stafford hasn't stayed healthy. If the lions can get some help at linebacker and de in the second and third round their d might be legit. Still think they need another piece or two but there is still free agency and rounds 2 and 3
