Why not run the ball on 4th and 1, you had been getting 5 yards a carry or so up until that point.

That was huge for the defense and its confidence, I really expected this team to be down 10-0 and have to win with the offense. But the defense while it has bent all the way up the field has made the big plays in the redzone. The offense has to get a TD here just to keep the defense off the field and swing some momentum.

If this team can't get the Jets off the field on a 3rd and 20 and then again on a 3rd and 10 this team deserves to lose this game.

I have literally 5 or 6 times, the first is an instant classic, it is just odd to see CBS in prime time airing an old movie instead of original programming.

The Jets won't even waste a challenge, it's a clear down by contact, the ground can't cause a fumble type situation. The bigger concern is third and three, will the defense try to run the ball or have Josh try and chuck it down low to Beasley or Kroft?

The Jets are a lot healthier on offense this week, it's only a field goal on a scripted drive. I can live with it.

Honestly I can live with giving up 3, the Jets probably heavily scripted the drive and went at it very well but the defense held up in the redzone and made the plays when it counted most. Concerning the ground yards they gave up to Gore but hopefully they can tighten up. I do like that half sack AJ got on that drive he looks really good getting off the edge on that play. Sloppy mistake by Addision but at least it was an aggressive mistake.

3-1 or 2-2 is where is see the next 4 games, Jets should be a win and the Seattle game is a likely loss. You then look at the Pats and Arizona neither team scares me so I think a worst case scenario for that is a split.

Bills 31 Jets 17 and it won't be that close (Jets will score a garbage time TD), hopefully this will be a game where things will get right.

Even if this team is blitzing and doing stunts on the line it isn't working and doesn't look as attacking or creative as last season. I think it could help to adjust the strategy. But I do agree Dline execution is the bigger issue, one that I think can be helped by adding a true one tech but one that will need more drastic fixes long term.

Snacks has turned down the Fins and Bucs to stay on Seattle. I think if the Bills want a player off the street there are other options like Timmy Jernigan who isn't a "big" guy but plays like one at the one tech. I would rather the team sign Jernigan and look for other options on the trade market.

I saw Buffalo Ramblings and that put him on my radar. I did some more looking into him and he seems like the prefect rental. Super Stout run defender big body guy that can clog and hold the middle. Super cheap on the cap and probably could be had for a 4th round pick. It just seems like a fit for both sides. I don't see any other help coming to the defense as there just doesn't seem to be a lot of elite pass rushers out there that the team could afford.

They should have gone after someone else besides Butler. I just don't understand what the Butler signing was about. They signed Addision and Jefferson to replace Phillips and Shaq and honestly Addision and Jefferson have been mostly what we thought they would be. But why sign Butler if you think Star is playing? At that point you have Oliver and Jefferson as the pass rushers and Star and Harry as the bigger guys. You could have spent that 7ish million on another depth piece or rolled it over. It just was such an odd choice to add an expensive 5th DT. Unless you felt concerned about Star opting out and signed Butler as insurance. In that case you just wiffed and should have signed a more pure run stuffer.

I would rather make a trade with the other NY/NJ team and go after Tomlinson from the Giants. Tomlinson was a 2nd round pick in 2017 who is a very good run stuffer but not a great pass rusher. The Giants have Leonard Williams and Simmons at the DT position and are unlikely to put up the money needed to resign a run stuffer who isn't the best on the pass rush. The cost would probably be lower and the Giants are more likely to deal with the Bills than the Jets are. I also think cap wise it helps that Tomlinson makes next to nothing on the last year of his rookie 2nd round deal. Whereas Williams makes a lot more due to being a fairly high draft pick.

I think McD was trying to spark the team a bit. Get young guys who are "hungry" some snaps. I also think Harry Phillips just hasn't fully recovered from the injury last season so maybe a week off was to give him some "load management" which I think would ease his mind frame that he wasn't just getting "benched." Murphy on the other hand was likely just benched to "shake things up." Not sure it would have made a difference, but I do hope that the week off helps Phillips. Getting Levi and Milano back should help the LB corps and secondary a lot. However what frustrates me is how McBeane is failing to bring in another big run stuffing DT. It's clear that Jefferson and Oliver aren't run defenders, Harry hasn't recovered from his injury and Butler is ineffective. Please make a trade or acquire someone off the street, Zimmer is not the Answer.
