  1. my cousin is a ravens fan. he isn't a homer about it but really takes it to heart in the jackson vs allen debate. but any ravens fan i meet cannot help but to bring up any other qb when talking about jackson.
  2. Isn't this our worst performing uniform?
  3. Theyll bring up OJ but won't let you bring up Ray Lewis
  4. if Coleman is struggling to separate or get downfield we know that Davis can and will draw coverage deep. Like it or not, he does command attention. if that is simply a deep threat decoy it opens stuff underneath. by the point he would be able to come back, get the reps in, contribute we are looking at week 8-10. at that point it is a great opportunity to trim some of the excess we may not need on the roster or have injury markings.
  5. the 2nd closest i have ever been in an away game fight was in baltimore the season oopener 6-7 years ago. maybe 8. some old drunk dude kept hrassing me and i largely ignored him but he wouldn't let up. i didn't respond but if his wife hadn't taken him home he would have continued to escalate it.
  6. If we are amazed he's still out there, again, so is Justin Simmons.
  7. i am not here to defend josh. we are talking about lamar jackson. that's the problem is any time someone talks about lamar they deflect to every other tangent possible. who won? it's a team sport not a qb vs qb dual. unless you're taylor swift you realize qb's don't play each other. well, we now know swifty has an account here and is a ravens fan.
  8. hard to argue that a turnover itself does not create a critical time. I remember DC Tom went to the stump one time in an argument about turnovers and how valuable they are because of limited possessions in the current NFL. Each team may get the ball only 2 times in a quarter, some times only 4 times a game, 5 if they're able, 6 if they're skilled. Losing 1 chance to possess the ball and give it to the other team is critical. a turnover creates a critical time in my opinion.
  9. you can't ever say a player was outplayed by another when that player turned the ball over twice at critical times.
  10. alexander is washed. won't play against the bills. allen eats him alive and gets under his fragile skin to boot. the ravens are pretty great to start the season - they'll bring their best game but it won't involve alexander.
  11. yeah, good thing it's a team sport and the Bills won sweetie. all these stats matter except when they don't, right? that's why last year Lamar should have been MVP and Henry is the best, and blablabla if individual stats meant anything than you could run your mouth about how great these stats are with the Ravens. but even in the regular season who cares....playoffs matter. and wins matter. thus, sorry charlie....ravens don't matter. this year is the test. if they can't do it this year everyone will ask when can they? will they supercede the mistakes often committed by their "MVP" QB? odds are against it.
  12. inb4 we sign someone big 3 days before a game lol justin simmons is still out there lol
  13. he replaces Mack Hollins. hopefully. at best. i don't think that is too high of a bar to expect much of him. especialyl considering Mack wasn't supposed to get the playing time he got. he was to be a ST'er who got pressed into time because Samuel and Coleman being injured.
  14. surprised to hear you say this. you're generally a realizstic optomistic. you don't think he could come in and be a factor for a game or two as a #4? in the days of Beasley, Diggs, and more McKenzie was the perfect off the bench player, Sanders was the ideal veteran #3, and Davis should have been the ideal #4. Davis is now where he has always belonged - on the bench as a #4 WR or pressed into rotational play as a #3 depth player.
  15. I don't have an immediate answer but I hope it's Tyler Bass.
  16. NBA players party harder than anyone. Lol
  17. That is what is so crazy. These athletes try but seldom put 100% of their abilities into their performance. We've seen athletes first hand when they put 100% on there. Vons strip sack against Kansas City. Kyle Williams touchdown. There are times and places where the athlete will dial it up to 100 but oftentimes they throttle. It's amazing what these guys do when they're off time, how many of them don't take it seriously, how many of them are getting drunk and partying more often than not. That they can just wake up and perform at this level is amazing. Rob gronkowski is a great example of this. He could idly perform at an All-Pro level but then there'd be a moment where he dials it up to 100, with focus with willpower and he gets stunning results.
  18. It's 2025, I would expect no less
  19. alexander isn't going to play and Allen owns him
  20. I do get what you're saying, and I appreciate the aspect we're looking at this. But every elite athlete I've known is generally does not let such emotional weight very much their performance. There are times when you could do things by sheer willpower, but that is generally not the result with these athletes Their switch is simply turned on for games regardless. I know they can be more focused or dialed in, I know that a certain level of coaching can make a difference, but I've never truly believed nor heard of a team where it was sheer focus for revenge to make a difference. The Ravens have an outstanding chance to win because they are a solid team with good players. Theor coach has success in opening weeks and preparing. The Ravens also have a lot of experience in beating the bills and the regular season. There's no reason to doubt they can't this opening week. Still, for no two rational reason I believe the bills will win. I don't think I have a basis for saying that because for many reasons I believe the Ravens should win but will not.
  21. ... Revenge? Why the hell do fans entertain this notion? They have no more or no less motivation than they did in the playoffs. These guys are doing their job regardless. Them winning week 1 won't mean ***** and they know it.
