Playoff Solutions Assuming they don’t replay the Bengals game.
boyst replied to Locomark's topic in The Stadium Wall
Everyone gets an extra week rest while the players risk injury? NFLPA never let that happen. It's also ridiculous to give teams rest. The #1 seed gets no extra rest, they all get rest. And if we get #1 seed we just worked 15 weeks of football and no restwith KC or Cinci likely to rematch us. The NFL hopes KC loses. Buffalo and Cinci are 1-2. Woohoo. Buffalo gets to continue playing for #1 seed and ... No bye week. And Cinci at best gets #2 seed and... No bye week regardless. Not enough incentive for the players and the league to juggle all of that for the risk of injury, logistics, and common sense. The only thing the NFL can do is kick Mahomes and Kelce in the nuts. Then tell them they're still #3 seed. Tell KC not to lose to both teams. And if they're so good to win elregardless -

if KC somehow lucks into the #1 seed they're going to get what they deserve. they will get beat early because they feel so entitled, they've played so sloppy, they are overhyped and the whole world will root against them. they're not a thrive through being an underdog isn't cinci/balt on saturday? -

they can rest starters against the patriots if they knew this game already had a result of a tie, loss, forfeiture, or cancelled game. that's what is ridiculous. they should just, and for our benefit decide the game and we rest our starters on sunday. -

the way of the mighty dollar stands between this and reality. backwards first: KC wouldn't care. there isn't going to be an asterisk by their #1 seed and they won't care. their worthless fanbase would believe it was desrved, too. cincy would gladly accept a forfeit of this - they don't want the injury but they have nothing to lose and after next weekend only the possibility to gain a 1st.. still they don't want to risk an injury. the nfl won't have a choice to take a forfeit if both teams and players say "no." and the media fallout is already radioactive against them right now. -

i'd rather take the forfeit than risk playing an extra week and the wear and tear while everyone else rests. not to mention what i just mentioned. we can't risk more injuries and a wasted week to likely face a loss. rest up and recover. go beat up on some boston scum and whoever wants to feel our wrath in the wildcard. -

The NFL is not going to hold games? How's that work? All that TV revenue. All the gambling. The paychecks of the players. The staff and logistics already in place. -

I think they wait to see what happens next week. If there is a football god he lets Cinci and KC lose -

I agree. But also stress, and you may agree: We don't know what's best, we aren't thinking fully clear, and don't have an answer to -
I don't have an opinion either way but Saturday is not a coach. He is a well respected former player. As such, his statement seems to hold more gravity than just a coach

I think it's always been win/loss record. I think I remember something in the 90s about a tie being impacted -

If we go off win % vs winning games which would have to change the structure of the playoffs, this puts Miami in and nE out. But you're right if done by % Also what's interesting is they blacked out the MNF game last night. Ominous. -

I'm saying if the game isn't played. Which I don't expect it to be. -

If that's the case KC gets to rest this weekend too -

Agreed. And I didn't like how wide open we left the middle of the DL and then backed up our LBs. Too much space in the open middle. -

Just played with ESPN machine. If they simply waive the game results and do nothing and both bills and Bengals win next week it won't matter KC can rest their starters next week and still be #1 seed w 3 weeks off -

A former player spoke of #1 seed. You sleep in your own bed for 2 weeks. You get to rehab and work. The wildcard game upsets are because teams fought like hell to get in and run out of steam week 2. -

Do we think bills coaches and players are watching film from yesterday? Even brief there was some good stuff on tape. The Bengals OL held. A lot. And the chance to rush the middle was there. I think we can alter the gameplan based on what I saw. -

I know we are all going through many emotions and differently. But, I'd be VERY curious to see this game played soon with how the players behaved. Would Mixon tone it down? Would the big play plays be less hyped and celebrated? Would it be a more passive game? I'd hedge a bet it started very passive and kind then aggressive. By the 4th Q I'd think they'd be back to normal. -

It's subtly different in my mind to go off of win % then giving a win. If they go off wins and there is a fluke where KC loses then it's time breaker. If it's % it's more settled. -

They'd never do that because a game on TV is revenue. They don't care if a team gets screwed as long as the games are played. -
Booger was unlistenable 3-4 ago. On Sirius he would not let anyone speak and be combative if confronted or argued. He hit tv and looked high strung but now he is doing so well and I'm happy for him.

Oh I know. And you likely realize I'm ribbing you. The nflpla and players wont let this issue go easily by. I don't see the players letting the game happen this week.
